It's the strangest thing... on the 1.3 pre release my FPS went from like 40-50 to 70. It was great. When it updated officially, it dropped to 20-30 and it takes it forever to start up and then quit. After it quits my computer is frozen for a while :/
edit: ...and I never had any of those problems before. It always ran fine, started fine and quit immediately.
When enemy mobs are attacked in Creative they freeze. Creepers do a great impression of Endermen and just stare at you, not exploding. I'm assuming this isn't a feature.
Aw man, I forgot to play with the horizontal logs! (heh heh)
My favorite thing thus far is my boost in FPS. In 1.2.5 (I did not play the snapshots because I was concerned...) I was getting 40 average. I just played the pre release for the first time and it's up to almost 70! I can't believe how quickly chunks render and smooth flying is.
I love the stairs too, I like to build with sandstone so having matching stairs will be awesome
That worked perfectly!!! Thank you so much! It was pretty simple too actually since it wasn't far from where it sent me in the Nether to being with. I've gone back and forth many times and they always link to each other now.
I built a Nether portal and when I returned to the overworld from it, it took me to a new portal underground a ways from my original portal.
After reading the Wiki, I'm still not sure why it keeps doing this. The first portal I made was not obstructed or in a weird place, it was just on the ground by my village. I've since destroyed that one and made another in a different place, but around the same village, and it still sent me underground. I've arrived at the same place in the Nether both times though.
I'm playing version 1.2.5.

The village I'm at is-
x 549
z 228
The portal underground appears at-
x 375
z 136
The only thing I can think of is that I end up in the Nether on a peninsula on the lava lake/ground which is y 14. Where I'm building my overworld portal is between y 60-70 and the game thinks they're too far away. The portal it keeps sending me to is at y 17. Could that possible?
I did this and everything else I could think of, yet I still get grey water. What gives? I'm certain that I'm using the latest MCPatcher (2.3.0_01) and your latest pack (401). I completely uninstalled Minecraft, re-downloaded everything, ran MCPatcher, placed your texture pack in my texture pack folder, I didn't install any other mods, and still grey water. Help?
I am having this same exact problem. I have uninstalled EVERYTHING, all my texture packs, mcpatcher and minecraft itself. Started out fresh. I re-installed the latest version of everything and still get white water. I thought I was the only one having this problem as well.
Same here. I can't figure out what the deal is. I'm on a Mac, btw.
I have yet to ever use a mod. I'll browse them and I came very close to trying Mo Creatures, but I feel most of them add TOO much. I'm fine with Minecraft the way it is, and I like most of the additions :smile.gif:
I can't play it without my favorite texture pack though :tongue.gif:
I really don't care that there is an "ending" since it isn't one at all given you respawn. However, the ending itself is an incoherent mess and a horrible narrative. The entities speaking to/about you obviously suffer from ADD.
I agree. In my 1.7.3 world, I lived on a beach in a rainforest next to a mountain with trees and a natural waterfall that flowed into a shallow pool. It was beautiful and I loved it.
I haven't found anywhere near as awesome or varied and normal as that.
My least favorite things are the lack of trees on mountains and so much water in deserts. I *love* ravines though. Those are great.
I really hate the bow :sad.gif: That was the thing, imo, that made skeletons so intimidating. They aren't hard to fight but hearing the old bow sound out of nowhere was the ONE thing that made me jump when exploring, especially in a cave. Now skeletons are just annoying.
I've heard footsteps and other creepy ambiance different from cave sounds, in Mineshafts. You said you were close to one? I think the game just tries to freak you out.
edit: Although, I wasn't aware that squid made walking sounds until this thread.

Wow, thank you! This is the most perfect seed I've seen in a long, long time.

I also dig the new textures, especially sand and the different wools.

Thanks again
