Yes, I do understand that in Survival it can clog up your inventory when mining, but I think that builders (like me) would love to have a bigger palet of blocks to choose from. And I don't mean as bright as endstone or as dark as obsidian, only just a faint variation that can make complex buildings look amazing.
I would like to suggest adding more types of cobblestone. By that I mean blocks with the same kind of texture as cobblestone but just a bit lighter or darker. But only a bit brighter/darker. This adds more opportunities for builds without adding too much contrast. This has been seen in an existing mod but I think it would be a great feature for Vanilla Minecraft.
I would like to state ahead of time that the Spawn was just recently finished last night so I would love it if we could build an A Mine instead. You could always give any suggestions on something to add to the Spawn. For my information, on which version is your server run off. Try updating the server to 1.7.9 or maybe getting a spigot version and allowing the server to be 1.7.x
Is your server run of your computer? If so then it may be not not port-forwarded correctly. Or maybe it wasn't at the time. For a great and reliable minecraft host. Try MCProHosting. They remade their prices and now it is very cheap to run a server from it. Also, which websites did you advertise your server on?
