I really think Mojang should put out a demo of Survival, because pointing people to classic usually illicits reactions like "How is this different than Roblox?" or "I see, you just place nasty pixely blocks?" or "Dude, please, I don't want to play a game from 1998" (at least from my idiot friends). So then I have to give them a whole lecture about why they should play it (eventually they get hooked, but MAN is it exhausting to do).
Maybe just a length of 5 in-game days would be a good demo, excluding features like the Nether or certain materials. And pehaps the world wouldn't be random and you'd start off with some tools. Just so instead of telling people why they should buy Minecraft, I can just say "Here play this. You'll thank me later."
It would also be a good deterrent against people pirating it in order to "test" it.
I guess it could wait until the final release, but even if they made it around the current version they wouldn't have to update it because people would still get the idea.
Actually a built-in screencapture system (if that's what you mean) sounds like a pretty good idea. They could put a Minecraft logo watermark in the corner.
*Looks at top left-side of screen in-game*
I mean like this logo
It would be tiny and be in the bottom right corner.

What about portals for inter-regular-world travel.
They could be made out of diamond or gold (or something harder to obtain).
And you have to create two. On top you put a combination of colored wool blocks, kinda like a code, like this:
And when you went through, you'd warp to another portal that has the same combination on top.
It could be good for going back to somewhere you've already been, but it would be difficult to make, to keep players from just building them everywhere willy-nilly. The place you want to warp to would have to be pretty damn important for you to spend the time to make a portal network.
Perhaps if you made more than two with the same combination, it would just burp you out to a random one. Also, if you enter a portal without another matching one, then you die. And perhaps the portals would just always have a 1% chance of just killing you.
Perhaps you can still go through if you are on a minecart, allowing you to make complex minecart tracks that involve warping around.
If you built a house in the sky, this would give you a quick way to get there. I wounder if Mobs should be able to go through. Maybe you could set up a switch to turn them off and on, so Mobs (and yourself) can't get through, but that might be a more useful feature for a multiplayer server.
He really isn't that funny. Jim Gaffigan, Zack Galifianikis, Steven Wright, John H. Benjamin, Demetri Martin, David Cross, and Tim and Eric are much funnier.
Colbert is sharp socio-political satire; if you're not into politics or current news then most of his work will sail straight over your head. I haven't heard of most of the folks in this list, barring Wright, and a few things I saw Tim and Eric do with John C. Reilly, though them being in this list encourages me to go check out these unknowns on my comedy radar. But it's not the same type of humour at all. I don't consider Wright to be better or worse, just different in style. Neither Colbert or Wright could pull off the other's routines.

What christian game in their right mind would allow you to punch sheep for their precious wool? xD (Which makes sweet carpets btw!) :happy.gif:
Oh yeah, never mind that the old testement is full of the slaughtering of sheep.
I'm religious (Mormon, which IS christian) but I don't think Minecraft is christian necessarily. Because that's silly.
I think Notch is an athiest, actually. Which is funny because Minecraft does have a sort-of creationism-like feeling with Notch randomly introducing new Mobs and environmental features and stuff.
I mean, there was a time when I could run games just fine. Like Sauerbraten http://sauerbraten.org/
But the crashes kept getting more and more frequent. Now I can't even play Minecraft Classic for more than 5 minutes without the computer crapping out.
The downside is that it's the only computer in my house that is remotely capable of playing Minecraft, and it's my Mother's work computer, so I can't really do any tinkering or messing around with it to fix the problem.
I just wish there was an easy solution, but there could be a thousand different factors to sort through.
I've run the hardware test, and the computer doesn't seem to think that anything is wrong.
Oh well...
I've been trying to fix the problem for a while, even before Minecraft, it's just that now I'm obsessed with Minecraft and I can't even play it!
by the way, I have the same problem with anything that uses OpenGL, it's been like this for a long time. A couple years maybe. It's just now I want to play Minecraft on this computer, and I can't due to this crippling problem. I've only tested it with Minecraft classic, but I have no reason to believe Survival would run fine though.

HAHA I actually don't like them either. Like at all. I just heard this song in The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. It seemed fitting for notch.

Actually, Venetian Snares, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Underworld, Depeche Mode, Erasure. Those are my types of music. Not Aerosmith at all.
