posted a message on Minecraft Snapshot Rant
I can't see a single thing in this update that "ruins" minecraft. Including dying armor, I'm pretty stoked for that, can't wait to go around wearing green.

Was this whole rant supposed to be about that and adventure mode? Adventure mode is a CHOICE. You set up a map for people to try and go through. And guess what? People LOVE that. If you don't, don't use it. It's not like its being forced down your throat.

Lets apply this to a realworld example.

The bridge isn't finished, but people want to use it now. Guess we will let them. That will make them happy.

posted a message on They need to improve the maps
I think scrolling in the map itself might be a bit advanced for the design (considering, how would you scroll? Scroll wheel won't work cause it would just switch items)

What I propose is this: Put a map, paper, quill, and ink in your crafting bar (any order) and you copy the map. At that point you can choose the scale. So you have zoomed out maps and close up maps being seperate. I think the way the game is currently set would support this better than scrollable maps, while still allowing us to have different levels of zoom.

    I'm looking at this! :)
I'm going to try it right now. Also if you look in achievements about shooting a skeleton 50 meters away, well meters was spelled wrong!

Wrong? Let me give you a little lesson in how words can be spelt. There's one right there, perfectly acceptable, but you would probably say "spelt" isn't a word.

Meters is American. Metres is English/Canadian. We use this one. Same as words like colour with the 'u'. This is just how words were spelt before they were Americanized.

posted a message on My only issue with wood textures
I'm thinking they need to upgrade how they change colors of similar items anyway, as right now it leaves things very limited. Half slabs for example, are all the same item with a different damage value for the texture, meaning that a stone slab and a wood slab are totally identical except for one digit. Because of this functionality any item they make with multiple textures is limited to using 16 textures. Wool is an example of this, as of right now we cannot have any other colors of wool, since we are already up to 16 colors. Now with slabs (for example), we already have stone, sandstone, wood, brick, cobble, and stone brick. That's 6 textures on 1 block already. If we were to add in the other 3 colors of wood, that would make it 9 textures. Say we also want glass slabs, nether brick slabs, and wool slabs (I think these are the most common requested). That puts us to 12. That means there is only room for 4 more types of half slabs, and if more types of building materials are added (marble? onyx? gemstones? who knows) then the remaining values will get used up real fast. So I think before they go about making all the colors and such available, they need to update how those colors are handled.

Your comments make me weep as a real programmer.

I will take my software development degree elsewhere then. Maybe to a place with where my Hello World apps can be happy.

The new height won't (shouldn't) hurt your fps. It's all air above 128.

A statement like that makes me weep as a programmer. What do you think a stone block is? A block with stone properties (texture, collision, no transparency, etc). A dirt block is also a block, with different texture, etc. An air block is also just a block, it just doesn't have a texture, doesn't collide, and has transparency.

It takes exactly the same amount of memory to process an air block as it does for any other block.

This doesn't go here. Also I'm pretty sure Minecrafterz was already a previous youtube account flaunted around here a month ago, and was banned. If you are the same person this account won't last long either.
