DeepBologna is a group of friendly people that have been playing together for 2+ years. We are currently resetting our FTB map. This means good news for you!
We always look to put some new blood in when map resets happen as they are always exciting. Of course there will be some conditions/requirements in order for you to join our group. We have to all get along right? Please fill out the following application below as you see it with no modifications.
1. Do you know how to play Modded Minecraft? This does not mean be a veteran but please don't be a day 1 player. 2. Are you at least 16 years of age? Most of our group is very mature even though they swear they aren't.
3. Are you socially tolerable? This is once again to make sure we all get along. No one likes a party pooper. 4. Are you willing to use skype? We communicate mainly in this manner. However we do need some sort of age verification even if it is a small convo on
5. How active will you be? We of course don't want 1 or 2 day players.
6. Are you looking for a vanilla server as well? Our main server is a vanilla server which is how we all came together in the first place.
7. IGN.Need it to add you of course!
Some background info on the server.
DeepBologna server is hosted on a dedicated server which remains active 24/7
Specs:
FX 8350 8-core
20GB DDR3 Ram
500GB SSD
Backed up nightly
Map generated once a day that can be viewed at http://maps.jacksonchris.com
Currently I am running a 24/7 server for friends, there's no more than 5 of us, generally 3 at a time. Just wondering what the suggested RAM to accommodate for this is? The server currently runs off of 300MB, which is appropriate according to the FAQ here and several other on-line sources, however Minecraft seems to throw memory exceptions multiple times a day. I assume that this is because Minecraft is becoming more resource intensive as it expands and progresses and that these suggested numbers are based of early versions of the game.
tl;dr How much memory for a 24/7 server with 3 players running vanilla 1.7.4? 300MB is not enough anymore.
Minimum I run for any player amount is 512MB, however a solid 1GB is a good recommendation for up to 5-6 people in different areas at the same time.
