That's the thing about creepers...I didn't see or hear it coming toward me. D:

It was my first world and I found a nice, snowy island (back when your world was winter or summer) and carved out a fortress into the side of a cliff. I was in my newly-created mine getting coal when all I heard was that awful...dreadful..."SSSSSssssssss". I whipped my camera around to see this...this THING jumping up and down as it was inches from my blocky face and then it exploded.

I was aware of your program's seed abilities and I was also aware that biomes aren't actually stored, but calculated on the fly. Are humidity and temperature also calculated on the fly, or are they stored? Sadly the seed feature of your program can sometimes be difficult to use because one might have to run through hundreds or thousands of seeds to get the appropriate seed. That is no slight to you, of course. It's a slight to how seeds work, really. I do admire your program though, and I'm grateful I even have the option to change the seed. :smile.gif:

Eh, I suppose I could. Wouldn't it be a lot easier and more badass to be able to paint it, though? Just imagine if, in the future, Captain added biome painting. :iapprove:

Now I just wish someone would crack the code on controlling or "painting" biomes because these ****ing biomes will ruin Sosaria.

Hehe...the map I'm working on is 40, 32 tiles. Fun. xD It's going to be a 1:1 scale replica of the Ultima Online version of Sosaria. (http://galeon.com/abexe/sosaria.gif)

It is something like 320 chunks by 256 chunks.

I'm sure there's a way to do the rolling hill idea but code it in a manner that matches up the edges. If not, a solution would be to have it completely flat for half a tile and the next half begins the rolling seabed. That way the user could simply make the edges of their world flat and line up the seabed level. Then it kind of matches up and wouldn't look hideous.

Question: Is the border finite? Does the world infinitely generate the border, or does it resume normal generation once the player is at the end of the border?

If it's finite, then I'll have to code a way for players to teleport from one side of the map to the other when they hit a certain chunk. That way I could have it so one players could sail from the eastern shore to the western shore in a straight path (almost as if they sailed all the way around the world).

I voted that I'd pay $5 for this if it were fully featured and fully working. I just paid for three copies, in my book. That's how much I love your program. I'd donate more if I could.

EDIT: Don't know if you mentioned this or not, but when choosing the border and border size, I typically use water. I love that I can set the water level, but I feel like I'm missing out because I can't set the level of the ground underneath the water. (Which is just bedrock, I'm assuming?)

Again, it might have been mentioned already...I'm shamefully too lazy to look. However, are you already planning to add the ability to set the level of that?

If you're going on a mining expedition through a large cave system, what do you bring with you?

    64 planks or 64 logs?

Ah, I wasn't aware of being able to change those brush features. Thanks! Just what I was looking for. :smile.gif:

    EDIT: Donated $15. :smile.gif:

Looking forward to the next release, Captain. :wink.gif:

EDIT: Are you already planning on making a different brush type for solid painting instead of "spray painting"? It'd be wonderful to have them both. Different situations call for different brushes. :smile.gif:

Also, did you look into the custom brush importing to see how difficult it would be? I know it was already mentioned before.

That's a nice idea and would make quick work of creating a map, but that wasn't my goal. :tongue.gif: The goal for mine was to keep it simpler. Your idea is certainly better in terms of speed and efficiency, because generating from a height map is easier. Especially since you could import maps and create height maps out of them.

I just think it's funner to create the map instead of letting the height map do it for you. And, like I said, having an image overlay is also a lot simpler.
