Well, some more information would help... What were you doing before it happened? Did you change anything?

The HP one seems to have better specifications all-around, but they still have in-built graphics. However, both have 8 GB RAM and should run Minecraft fine. I just don't like how they have Windows 8 (I can't stand Windows 7 either). If you disable all the pointless services and startup items, it should run fine, but when recording, you're recommended to record to an external drive, as playing and recording on the same drive can lag it quite badly (both hard drives on them are 5400 RPM).

May I suggest going wholesale? You can get those for a lot cheaper if you buy wholesale rather than directly from the store. I mean, if you want... But I got my gaming notebook wholesale, and it was pretty cheap.

I think it fits it quite well, however, I think all the text needs to be boxed, as black text on the dirt background blends in a bit too much (seen in the 'Service Status' section).

posted a message on What happens when new features are added?
Yes, it should work like that, any old map can have new features, so long as it's not world-related (such as biomes, because then you will need to go further out of your world), but if it's something like a mob, it will work on older maps (since they are both spawning on the same block ID).

Oh, I don't like how they're really only focusing on multiplayer, something I never have and never will go near. That chat button on the top right is really, really annoying too, I keep accidentally pressing it. Why would there be a chat button in single-player? It makes no sense, it should only appear when you're on a server. The updates that do contribute to the game are good though.

Sounds nice, but I think it's a bit too technical for Minecraft, with all those things you can make with it.

If you want one at a good price, going wholesale is the way to go. Buying direct from a PC parts site will overcharge you by probably $1000 or more.

Um, I don't get it. Is he trying to make us dislike the update, or express his opinion? Just because you don't like one thing, doesn't mean every other user has to follow. We all have different opinions, which leads to lots of us liking and disliking additions. I like the addition, it's in no way 'modern' (I don't even know where you got 'modern' from).

Goodness, if every user expressed their opinions on things in Minecraft, there would be hundreds of threads a day about it.

If you don't like it, you don't have to use it. I know, it's an over-used statement, but is true. They don't affect the way you play and can just be another mob to you.

Oh, please don't get angry at me, I'm not trying to upset you, I was just expressing my opinion on what you posted. Criticism is great, but it should be in the form of constructive criticism. Why don't you like the update? What makes it 'modern'? How does it affect your play session?

Actually, I think you summed it up quite well. Minecraft sure has a lot of spontaneous events.

thanks for your quick response. no I havent tried deleting the .minecraft folder inside AppData but i will do that now thanks... like I said I know (almost) nothing about computers so if I do this I won't lose any of my minecraft worlds will I?

Go into the .minecraft folder, and then copy/move the 'saves' folder somewhere else. After you do that, you can safely delete the .minecraft folder, and then replace the 'saves' folder when it's re-installed.

It could be Windows 8 I guess, that OS isn't compatible with anything. Have you tried doing it on another computer?

posted a message on Why Is Minecraft so addicting?
Another reason is also because the game is unique, most games nowadays are just your average linear FPS. What makes Minecraft unique is the graphics, world size, how everything works on it, and how in-depth of a sandbox is (since every single thing can be broken). You can let your imagination run wild, the possibilities are endless.

Minecraft also doesn't contain 50 + DLC packs like most games now, what you pay for Minecraft is what you get.
