well im upset because i had paid for 3 months worth for 3 gbs of ram and now they dissapear

This is why I urge people to use reputable companies, not summer host // fly by night ones.
You're looking for cheap hosting? I have one word, TrueWorldGaming. They've been running since 2011 and won't be closing anytime soon!

I've also seen companies like Virtual Gladiators, AdvantageServers, voodooservers, WebSound and a couple others floating around for a while.. All companies listed above are ones I've never heard a bad thing about, so they're my secondary recommendations! If not, PM me! :)

    New question,
Is it possible to have a certain amount of Ram as well as BungeeCord so you would have more players and less lag?

    Since I don't really understand your question at all;

BungeeCord is a standalone Java application that acts like a reverse proxy for one, or in most cases, multiple Minecraft servers. You cannot combine the RAM with a Minecraft instance (Is that what you mean..?)
The BungeeCord wiki has all you need to know... http://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/bungeecord/

I have a question to all hosts, how many people can a BungeeCord server hold if I were to order one? I am planning on big server, hopefully it will turn out well, we are in the building of it right now!

512MB's of RAM will hold a ~100 slot BungeeCord quite nicely. At that point you should be moving away from Shared hosting anyway.

    $250 (/yr) / 12 (months) = $20.83 (/mo) / 8 (GB), you have a budget of ~$2.60/GB

May I recommend TrueWorldGaming to you? They run at $2.49/GB, an 8GB server would come at around ~$239/yr. :)

found you a solution a well priced dedicated server host! http://billing.dedioutlet.com/aff.php?aff=006

    enjoy

    DPE-IXDC30-2 - (2GB 2 Cores/2 Threads @ 3.0GHz)
    Intel Xeon Dual-Core E3110 3.00GHz
    2GB ECC Memory
    250GB 7.2K RPM SATA HDD
    5TB Bandwidth
    1GBpS Uplink
    1 IPv4 address
for 30$ can run a powerful server

    1. Please don't spam that everywhere, especially in threads where It's not even relevant. (Like this one, he is asking for something near Australia...)

    2. The OS will take at least 500MB of RAM, so you get a 1 - 1.5GB Minecraft server for $30, not to mention the End of Life CPU.. It's actually really expensive considering the little amount of resources you get.

The 3-4 gb ram is to insure no lag for those who live far away.

First, more RAM doesn't at all decrease latency.. Thats like saying, replacing a water tank with one two times the size will make the tank fill up faster..

Even with that many plugins, 1.5-2GB would be fine.. Around 2GB would get you a good ~25 slots without much trouble :)

Last time I tried, a server doesn't even run that well on 512MB and even worse on 256.. Not sure how you're going to hold more than one (maybe two or three if they're in the same area) players on 128MB's...

    Hello,
My name is Janzent Vapor from WolfCraft Hosting.

I believe you are looking for a Simple Control panel, Automatic Backups, Easy FTP Access, Server location near Canada, and full control of your server (this includes Player Count).

We have everything that you are looking for!

We recommend our 1GB Server (you can Upgrade/Downgrade anytime). This already includes an Easy Multicraft Control Panel (which means that you can change the number of players that will go into your server, easily upload and download worlds, be able to whitelist the players, automatic commands, and even more!) We have a Node in North America, and a Mumble Voice Server. Lastly, we have a Cheap Auto Backup Service AND you don't have to expect downtimes, because we barely had that!

You can always depend on our Hardware with Strong DDoS Protection! We have Intel Xeon E3 with 1/1Gbit connections. If you do want to know more information, you can send us a Support Ticket at http://wolfcraftserver.com/support.html

If you are interested, please contact us through the Support Ticket or talk with us through LiveChat.

Feel free to check out our services at http://wolfcraftserver.com

I feel like you need to get those glasses of yours checked.. Hmm.

posted a message on Well priced servers that come with a domain service (can be paid separately)

Yes, although I want a service with domains availbile. 3/4 don't have that. A better title was needed.

Honestly registering a domain from the same company you host from is usually a bad idea, especially if they're the since there is so many 'fly by night' and generally low quality companies out there today..

If I was you, I'd use http://NameCheap.com and just create an A (or SRV if needed) record to the IP of your server..

This means you can easily change hosts or whatever without having to go through the hassle of or paying fees to transfer domains.

posted a message on Low ram network sponsership
Quote from fishing4fish85next I am looking to get a a few servers, (Ram and such can be discussed later) for a network I used to own that went down a couple months ago.

How many players did this network have? (Peak & Average)
I have many modified game modes to offer which will make my servers unique, Add me on skype for some I have as I dont want people to steal them before mines online.

The chance someone on here, especially this subforum would steal your ideas is 0.1%, you're not a celebrity in the spotlight 24/7 or anything :P
    Bungee (1/2 gb)

You definitely won't need 1 - 2GB for BungeeCord, 256 - 512MB would be fine, even for 100+ players.. Trust me, the CPU will be the main bottleneck miles before RAM is.
Hub 1gb (until there's alot of players)

1GB for a Hub? Hubs run fine on 512MB, even if 100+ players join within a second.. This is purely because Hubs are small and everyone is contained in that small area, barley any chunks need to be loaded, thus, hardly any RAM is required.
Factions 1 - 2 gb (old players miss my factions)

For Factions I'd definitely recommend 2GB... 1GB could work, but all it takes is a couple of players to travel a few thousand blocks out and your server is starving itself for memory.. Luckily since teaming exists, 2GB will probably work fine for a good 30 players, even if a couple of them do go out far!

SurvivalGames 2 - 4 (Best idea for this and I believe it will be my biggest hit)

2-4GB for SurvivalGames? This is basically the same as a Hub, unless your maps are 1000x1000 there should be no need for more than 2GB's, even if you have each map across 10 different worlds, etc.. Also keep in mind you will need a decent playerbase right off to get SurvivalGames working, if you only have ~15 players online and 10 are in Factions, I hope your SG games can be started with the remaining 5 players...!

MiniGames As much as I can get, More ram, More games (lots of ideas I can put on 1 server)

Again, same thing with the Hub, unless your running a huge MineZ map or something incredibly complicated, I really doubt you'll need much RAM for this.. 1-2GB depending on the games?

I have owned successful servers since 1.2.5 So Im not a kid trying his luck.

Thats great and all, but guess what?

Back in 1.2 (and basically all the way up to 1.6) you could post/bump a server listing on PMC and a good 50 joins.. Sure, not all would stay, but It was incredibly simple to make a "successful" server in a few days of PMC bumping..!

Now we're at 1.8, and the server market is so saturated It's actually quite difficult to get joins.. Lets say you post on PMC, 10 server list websites, Minecraft Forums, PMC Forums, etc, etc, you might only get, what, 20 joins..?

Of course you have things like an existing community and the things quoted below, which is a good help and all, but I think you're a little optimistic at this point! No harsh feelings though! :)
(This is also why I asked for your Peak & Averages at the top of this post!)

I also have alot of friends who are going to start a gaming channel, live on twitch, Then edited for YouTube. We have invested in that as well and would be interested in advertising your company.

We will do alot more then that, But if your interested in this sponsorship, Please skype me at: fishing4fish85

We can discuss all the details via skype. Thanks :)

    Quote from BaccaWolf»
I'm using a hosthorde Pro plan right now and I believe that their services are very good. I'm running 98 plugins (most badly coded by me) and it runs stable at about 1.5GB ram which leaves LOADS for the players to mess around with. I'm from the UK and whenever I submit a ticket, it gets answered very quickly.
    I definitely reccomend them.

You know how to develop plugins but you don't know how to read dates..!? The thread is over 7 months old!
