4J posted on twitter when the EU folks got the patch that the NA/JP patch would be slightly delayed: https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/593505547367788546

That said, it's live now in NA at least. Around 60MB.

posted a message on End Portal not found

I just tried out your seed and good news, you do have an end portal. It is completely enclosed in dirt and smooth stone though which is why you haven't found it simply by walking around. It is however only a few blocks buried from the door though so if you dig the walls a little bit you'll eventually find it.

However if you simply want the coords:

    X: -908, Y: 12, Z: -536

If you suspend/resume (using new PS4 firmware update 2.50), it will tell you there's a network error until you restart the game.

Woo, I was pleased to finally figure out how to do item repair* in the ps4 edition. But then I found a bug that it doesn't work with armor.

    * You need to have both items in your inventory, click on one as if to pick it up for moving it to a different slot, then move your cursor onto the other item of the same type, and the bottom left corner should tell you to push square for repair. Also, they've apparently intentionally changed it so that it does not work with enchanted items, which is a silly change in my opinion but meh.

    Another bug :(

When standing on a chest that does not have an opaque block directly below it (for example a chest that has another chest below it), if you look at the chest's hitbox in an attempt to open the chest, the camera will jitter violently.

I never had that issue when I went to get my beacons in my survival worlds, but then again when I play survival I leave Fire Spreads on. Fire can't really spread in the nether unless you place your own flammable materials, and it's fairly easy to fire proof your bases in the overworld. I can kind of see why you'd be annoyed though if you are turning off fire spreads while in the nether.

That said, I really don't think that it should change from the way it works on PC. I suppose there's quite a few players and creative builders who would be surprised if an update changes the way this works. And I guess they are probably not aware that it's even being discussed/scheduled for changing.

There's a simple workaround for your specific case and that's to turn on fire spread while you're in the nether. You can turn it back on when you go back to the overworld. It's actually one of the few gamerules that you're allowed to tweak without exiting the world on console.

But if this gets changed there's really no workaround for creative builders who turn off fire spread and use wood with fire to create bonfires or whatever. They'd have to use different materials and that is a huge deal for creative building.

Found another bug: The recipe for sandstone slabs and sandstone stairs incorrectly accept smooth sandstone and chiseled sandstone. On a side note, the game seems to prefers those. In other words, if you have both regular sandstone and smooth sandstone in your inventory, and try to craft slabs or stairs, you will use up all your smooth sandstone before you use any of your normal sandstone. And after crafting a bunch of smooth and chiseled sandstone it's kind of a kick in the pants to use it all up when crafting slabs. Yes, I can easily craft more but it makes this bug much more obvious.

    Quote from 4JSteve»

    • Disabling "Fire Spreads" causes fire to never extinguish.

Ack, that's not really a bug is it? This mimics the PC gamerule doFireTick and that's how I expect it to work, I have a build with this rule set on the world options and I have sandstone eternally on fire. I don't really want to replace it with the uglier nether rack.

    * The fishing bob is sometimes incorrectly rendered as floating several blocks above the surface of the water when fishing. You can see this easily by fishing in shallow water, and aiming close to where you are standing.

    * (Wither) skeletons ignore potions of invisibility.

    Edit to add:

    * Villagers tend to get "stuck" in the top half of doors. They are standing on the bottom half of the door and their head is in the opaque block above the door.

Here are some issues I've noticed:

    • When fishing in shallow water, the fishing bob is rendered 1-2 blocks above the water.
    • Potions of Invisibility are ignored by wither skeletons and skeletons (I was not wearing any armor, and had no hand items, no other hostile mobs noticed me).
    • If you have only 1 lead in your inventory, you can leash a horse, but then you are unable to tie them to a fence post. The option to attach to a fence post does not show up unless you start with 2 or more leads before leashing them.
    • I have 2 horses attached to a lead and fence post. If travel several chunks away for an extended period of time (at least a real world hour), when I return, the leads are always broken (dropped on the ground ready to collect them). The horses are still there. It's almost as if it just decided to break right then and there.
