Speaking of smooth chunk loading, when set to anything except default I'm getting texture flickering when blocks are modified; it's particularily noticeable when activating pistons with redstone, or placing water.
Might want to include an alternate terrain.png there, guy.
The new stuff is fabulous, but not everyone has Photoshop (or the patience) to swap out the textures they don't like. ):
Sometimes I do wonder why the Minecraft guy gets hurt from a 4 block fall, especially considering he's 2 blocks high.
It certainly doesn't look that high in-game.
Beds my first reaction to finding out they can be only used for night was: WHAT THE ****! I mean beds take away from the survival challenge of the freaking game! They also are too easy to make. I mean all you need is 3 wood and 3 wool and you get something that lets you skip the entire night! If people are really too lazy to do something else when they are waiting for day to come to come then you really dont or havent lived up to the full aspects of the game. If you want to finish some projects during night turn the game of peaceful! All and all beds are the cheapest thing in minecraft. They shouldnt even be around. 1:They will screw up multiplayer and 2:They take away from the fact that monsters come out at night and you have to build a shelter before then. I think beds should be harder to make aleast like this:
= wool
a. Waiting around all night in your house is not difficult, just tedious
b. You can only use beds when you're already safe, otherwise things pop up to kill you

Is there any way to fix this?

I wonder exactly how Notch expects us to get arrows aside from pummeling every skeleton in sight?

But that's ok, since the game isn't done yet and they're likely temporary.
And if not we always have classy texture packs!

That is a very good question.
IT CAN BE DONE HOWEVER.
