Alright! I've got it all set up, and even made a video tutorial so others can make 'em. Thank you to all y'all for helping me with this.

Alrighty, there we go! It works. Just made the names be NS and EW, without the slashes. Now, the way it is right now, I'm going to have to swing through placing all the armor stands, copy paste the command '/entitydata @e[r=2] {CustomName:EW}', then go through again for the NS ones, and AGAIN with '/entitydata @e[r=2] {Invisible:1}'. I guess I can do that, but can I put armor stands in my inventory that already have these attributes? Or at the very least put the naming and the invisible-ing into one command?

Ok, I got it to make it so I got a command of 'change all item frames in a radius of 4 to be stone' to happen at every armor stand. But now, I can't figure out how to name armor stands. I went right up to a stand and put in '/entitydata @e[r=2] {CustomName:E/W}', and set the command block's command to 'execute @e[type=ArmorStand, name=E/W] ~ ~ ~ entitydata @e[r=4] {Item:{id:minecraft:stone,Count:1,Damage:0}}', but that didn't work. I don't think I did it right. Is there a way to get an armor stand in my inventory that's already named and invisible for me to plop down?

So I use the invisible armour stands as a reference point for where the traffic lights are, and have a command executed at the stand's position to change the item frame within a small radius of it? And with it being by name, would that mean I can control all the traffic lights in my map from a single command block clock rig, or would I need to make a few to account for the fact that redstone doesn't work when it's too far?

I looked up on this, and apparently if I leave the controller around the spawn point, it'll stay loaded and functional? I'll start toying around with this this evening to see if I can get it working.

I've got this map with a few cities in it, and I'd like to switch over all the traffic lights to something made with command blocks. I'd have yellow blocks with item frames on them, and use entitydata commands to change what colour of stained clay they hold. However, I suck with command blocks and can't for the life of me figure out how to specify which item frames are to be changed. I have other item frames in the world so I can't do something like 'All frames facing north or south'. It'd be nice if I could have something to look at a relative spot within a radius so I can just build it once and copy/paste them under each intersection, but if I have to type up coordinates for each signal, I will. Thank you in advance!

Yeah, that anti dust thing would be preferable. Though, that PSU fan is not an exhaust. The computer's in a box, so there really is no intake or exhaust anything right now.

When I was building my computer, I scoured the internet for tips on all the things, and generally found things that everyone agreed upon. But when it comes to fans, I've heard both ingenious and idiotic arguments for both sides. The only thing I got out of it is which parts of the case ought to be intakes and which to be exhausts. But now I have an even stranger situation, where placement rules of normal cases don't exist. My dad and I built an arcade emulator, so as far as this is concerned, a computer in a wooden box. We left the side panel off and drilled some breathing holes in the wood, but despite only being used to play 80's and 90's arcade games, it still gets up to 80s and 90s of degrees celsius in there. Warm enough to make the wood smell like wood again! So, I've got one spare case fan I can use. I can drill a large enough hole for it in the side of the wooden box, and mount it with wood screws, but it comes to this - intake, or exhaust? Here's some other points I think are relevent:

    • There are several holes all over for air to be pulled in or pushed out through.
    • This thing is in my basement, and the computer is in the bottom of it.
    • Of course, the CPU heatsink and the PSU have their own fans, all within this hotbox.
Here's a rough diagram of the thing:

posted a message on Looking for MCEdit filter.
I have a map that I've been working on for a while. It was generated before the update that added all the new biomes and flowers and things, so my forests are all grass floored. I'd like to replace the grass blocks within the Taiga forests with the new podzol block, but MCEdit's own block replacer can only do the selection box. Is there any filter that's like an advanced block replacer, so I can specify to turn all grass blocks within the selection area AND in a Taiga biome to turn to podzol? Thanks in advanced!

That ain't good. Grinding? Are we absolutly sure the fan isn't scraping up some sort of cable? That happened with my GPU fan once, in a weird Dell machine that had the motherboard on the other side and thus GPU fan facing up..

Screenshots and a video would help alot. Barely anyone, myself included, will be bothered to download it without a good idea of what we're getting.

I can't play this map because I get stuck inside that hopper in the floor right at the beginning. I can start the newer two just fine, but I'd like to play this one first...

...and I fixed it. For others with the same problem, open the world to LAN, but in doing so enable cheats. Set yourself to creative for a second, fly out of the hopper, go back to survival, and play on.

That particular card is the exact same price as Zotac's OC'd 760 at my store, but isn't OC'd. However, there's that thing Nvidia's got going on, with basically adaptive overclocking. Hmm...

Actually, it seems it is OC'd, but not as much. Really, at this point, I'm just trying to figure out how to get $200 fast.

What, did one of their cards die on you and their customer support was full of a--holes? The store I'd be buying from has a good return policy. And I really don't have the room in my moneys to get anything great, and I'm in quite need of new GPU. I recently built a new computer, with an i5 3570 and 8GB of RAM. The only reason I'm still using my 9800 is 'cause I wanted to get the core compy done, and couldn't afford to have a GPU in the budget at the same time. But now that I'm out of debt from the core compy, it's time to go over getting the GPU.

There's no such thing as a middle brand in graphics cards.

Ok, they're the highest low brand?

I don't trust myself with overclocking, and I get a weekly allowance of $10, sometimes more. My dad'll be willing to put $70 towards this, and I also sometimes get odd jobs from a friend's dad, paying anywhere from $5 to $50. I might also sell some things, but I don't have a whole ton of things. And Miiralion, what's wrong with Zotac? From what I can see, they're the only middle brand. All else are either expensive with amazing products, or cheap with crap products. My current 9800 is from Zotac, and I've had no issues, aside of a loudish fan, though apparently Zotac's newer fans are quieter.
