As orade said, this is the OFFICIAL mod api's job. But, it just can't be done without changing minecraft itself. This is what Mojang is working on doing with the api. Be patient.
To put it in simple terms, some parents spoil their kids ridiculously (not the topic starter) and would just join the game and visit minecon knowing absolutely nothing about minecraft. But I agree, maybe a building for advanced players would attract a more mature audience.
First, you must install optifine. Best help EVER, gives me a 30 fps boost from 33 to 63 fps. Great. Then set all your settings to low(particle, fog etc.) This is about as far as you can go unless you have mods installed.
If they don't add the api, and some sort of backwards compatability for mods, I'm gonna rage. These are the two things people have been asking for for about a year now.
I like to mix EE with industrial craft, makes it easy to automate things. On the other hand, EE isn't giving any info on updating. At least thaumcraft made a thread.
In all fairness, it is new to them. Don't hate on them too much. Just explain to them, it's not real. It's when they DON'T EFFING STOP that it gets annoying. Another good point is that most of the hype is Mojang's fault.

This is what should happen to people like you that complain about every single F*CKING ASPECT OF THE GAME!

My opinion on the matter is, i'd love to see some pre-releases before a more official release, but hey, it's your mod!

Yup, the forge team is pretty good with updates, they have not wasted any time in using the pre-release to help update.

Video games have no purpose, but they're fun anyways.
