Hmm I kinda want to order but the site seems dull and so does the forum thread. I don't know if I should judge by that though.

You should. If a company does not take the smallest initiative to put effort into designing a all rounded package for their clients, then I don't see why you should enlist to become one of their clients.

Just a tip: You can upload your own files, be it plugin files or world files through your own FTP client like cyberduck or filezilla. Simply enter your details like IP address and port, username and password into your FTP client (different from server port) which you may click on the File Manager tab to check these details out.

    Yet another interesting article :)

posted a message on Applying to be a moderator
The most comprehensive F.A.Q guide (or maybe one of the most) while applying to be a moderator/waiting for the application to be reviewed. Read the entire Applying to be a Moderator thread (yes, 288 pages…) before asking any questions please. I am only on page 30 and will keep adding on to the F.A.Q compilation as I proceed on with the thread :)

Here is the compilation of some of the popular questions asked by members of the board.

    Moderator Requirements

Q: Is there any age requirements to apply for moderator?
    A:
    Quote from Syfaro

    There's no requirements.

Q: Do I need a minimum number of posts to apply for moderator?
    A:
    Quote from DanielleStarr

There's no minimum, but we use the posts to assess your character.

Q: Do moderators only check up on posts in the forums which I apply for or as well as other sections of the MCF?
    A:
    Quote from Beltir

A bit of both. I mainly check you're posting in my section, but also that you aren't problematic in other sections too.

Q: Will it affect my chances if I have no experience moderating forums?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

I had experience with moderating, but not forum moderation, yet I was accepted.

Q: Is there a minimum rank to apply/become a moderator?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

No. Ranks are based on your amount of posts and they don't care about how many posts you have. The quality of your posts is what matters.

Q: Is being a forum moderator a life time commitment?
    A:
    Quote from Skyblu10

You can resign and you will become "Retired Staff"

    Application

Q: Is the title of my application important? What do I put for the title of my application?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

The title isn't that important, just make it something related to applying.

Q: Will my grammar and sentence structure in my application affect my chances of becoming a moderator?
    A:
    Quote from citricsquid

Your application is a statement of intent, it is not really that important. The only value in your application is the information you include and the explanation of why you want to moderate, if you think that changing a couple of words of fixing a typo is going to change anything then you're wasting your time :)

Q: Are my old applications that were updated and edited automatically denied/deleted?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

When you update your application, the old one will be denied / thrown into the garbage bin / get hit by the banhammer / explode / headshotted / whatever else you can think of.

Q: How can I check the status of my application?
    A:
    Quote from Izraili

There is a link at the end in the main post. (Click here!)

Q: How long will it take for my application to be reviewed?
    A:
    Quote from Skyblu10

Your app will be read depending on what batch you're in.

Q: Where can I find my application number?
    A:
    Quote from Skyblu10

Once you go to your application page (http://www.minecraft...et/mod-recruit/) Click on your app and it will be in the URL.

Q: How do I find out which batch I am in?
    A:
    Quote from Skyblu10

If you post your application number [on the thread] the moderators can tell you which batch you're in. (Ex. Current one or next one)

Q: Is there any estimate for the next batch of applications to be reviewed?
    A:
    Quote from Beltir

We don't have a specific deadline, but we try to go as quickly as we can without missing good people.

Q: Will a notification be sent if my application is successful/unsuccessful?
    A:
    Quote from Unorthodox

Yes there will. It may come late depending on the admin.

    Others

Q: Is there a limit to the number of moderators and admins at any one point of time?
    A:
    Quote from citricsquid

We have around 50 moderators and we're always looking for more, we have no limit on the amount of moderators that we want.

Q: I will be away for a set period of time. Will there be any absence period?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

...justified absences are fine. We have a thread where we put our reason for leave of absence.

Q: Will being a moderator affect my normal interaction with the forums?
    A:
    Quote from Varzkkar

No, it will not. You'll still be able to use the forums normally.

Q: Do moderators and admins have a separate forum section for your own discussions?
    A:
    Quote from citricsquid

    yup
