I don't think my mind can fully grasp the greatness of the event of an update to better than wolves. No matter how large or small it is, I feel this immense surety in it being immediately better than any update that most developers can bring us for most games these days just because every change, big or small, was implemented by a thoughtful mind.

I think I will empty my hole on the plains of 90% of its mushrooms and burn them. Thanks, man.

Howdoyoudo? When I started playing BTW I was so blown away that, as I do when having a good ol time, began writing a sort of diary, which I would carelessly scrawl down after the end of each play session just as my eyes were starting their emergency-shutdown procedures. I did it in Fallout when I all by myself discovered the thuper-duper secret vault 12, and at 3 am in the morning I found myself compelled to immortalize my memories on a flimsy sheet of paper once again.

And yeah, I've been trying to subtly disclaim myself of any presumptions of quality. I done spelt words rong and I didnt make the grammer to good. Twas a memory dump that I'm sharing with the world (that's what you do on the internet)

here's page two and three! Happy deciphering!

p.s. 'Land of Flowers' is the name of my world. I called it this not because I am superfan, but because I thought it would be suitable for such a brutal world to be called something so dandy, as well as taking after the name of it's creator. daww

Animals don't ever respawn in BTW

This confirmation makes me very happy. To think that one day I will have to travel very far from home to find me some steaks. I'm lookin forward to my first farming project, too.

I have some changes coming that will make that whole thing a little more interesting. I haven't checked out the sand thing in particular, but now that you've mentioned it, will make sure to do so before next release.

Good on you ;) To see such a respectable beast die at the hands of gravity saddens me

I was wondering about animal spawns because I recall hearing about a change to spawns on piggies n co. making them remain dead once deaded. I loved the idea that wiping out an area of animals might cause you to have to go on multiple day-long hunting trips. I've sort of noticed that with my life on the plains. Realising that I'd eaten all my friends nearby I would leave to the far reaches of my land to find me some piggies, and this would give me great adventures. But then I found a cow walking about near my hidey hole's entrance. Did he migrate here, or do animals respawn? And why don't cows try to run away when I pour sand on them? Has the apathy and despondency of western society spread to the poor animals of minecraft?

I feel dirty with this method of slaughter.

Well, the point he made about axes is valid however: I've set them up so they effectively act as machetes when clearing a path through brush, and the better the quality of axe, the more pronounced the effect.

I noticed that axes did not destroy so much. But I do gotsta point out that I was only pluckin about, my talkings about jungles and fires and machetes was just my usual making fun. I was never suggesting the need for a machete! I feel the need to disclaim myself and not lose some serious brownie points with you ;P

Unlikely to burn down an entire jungle, but if I remember right I also increased the effectiveness of fire relative to vanilla. Still, that's a rather extreme solution which is likely to be quite messy if all you want to do is clear a path.

I will burn down a jungle one day. Perhaps the one that I keep seeing those little ******* spiders crawling at me as I search for food.

I dunno about a machete, but an axe works just as well. Or you could burn the jungle down, which often a safer, but world-scarring option. Good think you mentioned the Large Biomes thing. But yeah, if FC is going to update setting structures to always on, fixing the world size would be a good idea too.

Although I understand the thought behind "Large Biomes" I've always felt the game went from one extreme to the other. Default can seem too small sometimes, and large biomes is just silly. A nice "medium-sized biomes" would have been perfect, but never happened.

By golly! I wasn't suggesting that we add in machetes! All my days

heheh. I wonder about burning a jungle down, though. I remember Notch stopped fires spreading a while ago. Would a jungley fire burn down an entire biome of jungle?

I haven't played btw in a week. I done been without a computer that doesn't suck eggs, and will be for another couple of days. I feel like a sad addict on withdraws :(, but as days go by I find myself thinking about how much I'm looking forward to my next session of learning a lesson in cutting one's losses. Seriously would never have thought that I would stop playing don't starve for this. I was freaking passionate out the ass for that game.

SHE (Misery) can play MC any way she wants, just like the rest of us. Vanilla is boring, modded MC is where its at.

I like having to relearn this stuff, it's fun. Haven't had too many horror movie moments yet except for that Gloom thing. If pretty much everything is supposed to be on part with that weirdness, it'll be a hoot :)

Yeah, relearning everything is so great. What I can't get over about this mod is how it's one of the only mods I've ever played that doesn't feel like a mod. It seriously feels like this is what minecraft should have always been, and no matter how many new blocks or animals or fancy portals Moyang n' co. add to minecraft, going back would feel like I'd just be installing some Super-Content mod some bored kid made.

I loaded up 1.8 just so I could feel what it was like after 7 days of btw, and... like, damn. I was sprinting through a jungle like I was a freakin monkey doing his thing, and after 5 minutes of that I realised that I'd only lost 1 food-thing. It's so damn cool how flower changed the way movement works. It's like, when I'm in a jungle, say, I really feel like I'm in the huge mess of vegetation and green that I really am in. It makes me want to whip out a machete and chop myself a path through the chaos, instead of running through a different coloured every-other-biome.

Speaking of biomes, make sure you don't run with Large Biomes. Before I realised the gravity of finding myself in a huge plain of slow ass snow, far away from animals and happiness, I ran around starving to death. But that was fun as well. I should try it in real life

Oh definitely, thing is I hadn't found coal by the time I died for the Nth time and didn't realize the furnace now served as a light source.... you die, you learn. :P

Me being a new player too have just been through a few days of a lot of dying, and a lot of learning. Don't spoil too much by coming here and asking stuff, nothing I've seen in game is unintended, it's all so polished. Even the poop is polished. Yours won't be, though, so just keep those pants in surplus, and enjoy it while it lasts.

Also, not trying to be a smartass buttcheek, but furnaces have been serving as a light source since alpha! hehehe look at me I know my history

There are mod packs with over 100 mods. I've personally made mod packs with 3 times what he has. It ain't a thing.

Then you can multiply the effect of what I said to him by 8 for yourself ;P

How can you play with so many mods? Its like youre not even playing a game anymore. You were told you could buy anything at the candy store and later you're going to feel sick and fat, and like it was all for nuffin.

Hehe...I probably should have previously mentioned with regards to turning off structures and such, villages aren't exactly as you remember them either, but I kinda wanted to let you discover that for yourself ;)

You were right in doing that, my friend =D I'm the kind of guy who doesn't want to know the meaning of anything unless I stumble upon it myself. Slightly exaggerating heh

I hope the big-noses don't mind that some of their village is missing upon the return from their vacation.

Edit: I was just thinking about the first time I encountered a squid. I wish that my face could have been recorded at that time. And also the time it first got really, really dark. I was so, so happy that I was dying just because I couldn't see a pluckin thing. My happy hole was probably 10 blocks away, but, really, it was actually "Ah, the sun sets. Whelp, I suppose I'll just finish knockin' this tree down before stopping to smell a rose or two" blocks away.
