DxTory, not free, and there is a reason. It is fully customizable for all suites of gaming and will record anything. It auto recognizes where you want it to record and will actually benchmark your drive to see if you can record in the quality you have it set up for.
JackFrags made an excellent "Setup" video for DxTory and gaming, I used all of his settings and it records perfectly, I record with crossfire'd hd7770's.
Very organized video, I am not to keen on the sound quality, I currently have a meteor mic I picked up for $80 at the local microcenter and it works amazingly well! It would also be wise to put a popfilter between your mic and your mouth to keep the "pff" wind sound away since the performance mics pick that up very well and also use a stand to keep it as far away from your keyboard and mouse as possible so you don't hear the "Clicks" coming from them when you are recording!
I am 21 yeards old and make videos like this also and use Vegas Pro to edit, you seem to be a natural at this!
Here is a video of mine to show you my style, the key is to jump right in right after the intro with a strong and demanding hook welcoming your viewers.
My skype is: BeardsUnited add me and we can see about possibly collabing in the near future! Any and all other questions you can ask me on Skype if need be.
iShowUHD was a very good screen recorder I used on my iMac back in 2010, I am sure they have come out with many other updates to it since then and I remember it being very cheap!
I am gonna be straight and to the point, anything free is not worth getting.
There is always something a program won't have the you NEED for a successful video recording, whether it be codec support or recording time, if it is free, it will lack something.
Dxtory is honestly one of the best recording software I have ever used. It supports anything and everything you need it to do along with many different setting depending on how you want to record and edit.
It is not free, but if you are willing to do what it takes to be a successful youtuber, you need to invest to recieve. If YouTube sent you free money for making just one video, everyone would be in that career field, but it takes time and skill to be successful enough to make money doing it, which is why the people who do make videos for a living sometimes invest thousands into equipment to provide their viewers a quality enriched video to watch.
Here is an example of DxTory recording in 720p on my computer, I also have a studio microphone and edit within vegas pro.
Something I didn't mention, I have my own designated server within my house for hosting, it has an intel i7 processor with 8gb of ram, perfect for hosting Minecraft worlds.
You have to remember that only half of your problem is your processor and ram. The other half is hard drive speed. You need to be able to write at 75+ mb/s to have a video that is 30fps and 720p. My pc currently writes at 170 mb/s as its benchmark and it will hold 1080p at 60fps which is overkill if you aren't doing any slow motion footage.
Your best bet is to invest in a desktop with 4 cores and a minimum of 4gb of ram or 8gb if you are also rendering. Lagging during rendering will cause dead spots.
Software Knowledge:
- Sony Vegas Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Photoshop CS5
- Screen Recording (HD)
- I use a $1,200 gaming pc to render and record gameplay I built myself.
Main thing is that I am 20 years old. No one wants to hear a high pitched 13 year old in games and no one wants to hear a boring guy commenting on a 20 minute long video. I have been gaming all my life and have more responsibility about making videos then anyone else who has applied before me.
You can see by my last video, my rendering is spot on, it is in HD and there are no dead spots.

I run my own YouTube channel so starting a new one with people isn't what I am looking for. I will make the video, record, render and produce the graphical design portion of it myself.
Now time for you to tell me a little bit about yourself!
