What exactly does "Terrain Animated" affect? Only Netherrack and Soul Sand? Or anything else as well?

    I don't think you can...

Turns out if you are using Optifine, you can go into Options > Video Settings > Animations and set "Terrain Animated" to OFF

    Seems to do the trick.

Thank goodness. That stuff was creepy.

There's only one problem. After I installed ModLoader I had no audio. I have looked for a fix and came up with nothing.

QUICK FIX FOR THOSE WITH SOUND ISSUES WITH 1.6.2 MODLOADER

Option #1: (Suggested before) Go into the menu, and go where you can choose resource packs. Click on your resource pack (if you're not using one just click on the DEFAULT one) and your sound should start up.

Option #2: Hold down F3 and his S. This will restart the sound in-game. Super Simple.

I freakin' love this mod. It makes it so easy to swap out and test different mods and different versions of the same mod.

I was testing LumberJack Vanilla (no ModLoader requirement) and then LumberJack the ModLoader version. Simply added the Vanllla to the ADD list, then when testing the ModLoader version, removed that from the list, put the ModLoader version in the MODS file and did not need to load that in Magic Launcher at all. When I was done with that, I just erased the ModLoader version, put TimberMod in there, tested that, then erased that and added LumberJack vanilla back into the Mods listed in Magic Launcher.

I wanted to test 3 different releases of Optifine - B2, B3 and B4. All I had to do was Add one, then remove it, then Add the next, then remove that, etc. When I found the one that worked the best (B3 I think - B4 had issues) then bam, it was right there ready to go no problems at all.

I didn't have to edit JAR files, didn't have to worry about what order to load mods in, didn't have to mess with going back to the base JAR and trying different load orders manually, finding it didn't work, then going through that process all over again starting from the original untouched JAR.

All I had to do was move a mod up or down in the Magic Launcher list and it was just that easy.

    Freakin' great concept.

I don't even have to use SIZER any more to get a 1280x720 window. It's built right in to Magic Launcher, as is memory allocation.

    I LOVE THIS FREAKING MOD!!!!

    Thanks to the maker!

Yes, I know to put Optifine last in the list of mods I am using. I have tried all of the current Optifines: HD B2, HD_U_B4 and the L_B4. None of them work. Minecraft will either not load or most blocks will be invisible. It really sucks not being able to see terrain....

You have tried loading and running a fresh, vanilla minecraft? And that works?

Then you run Magic launcher and run it through there - does it work then?

If so, do you load Mod Loader into Magic launcher and test if that works?

Then if that does, try loading Optfine into Magic Launcher (just after Mod Loader) and running that?

Sometimes going through a slow, methodical, step by step procedure can help to narrow things down. It may be tedious, but putting in the time can often pay dividends.

    Best of luck!

In 1.6 you can just make a lead and take the animal wherever you want.

So before, you had to carry say a bit of carrot or wheat to lead them, and slowly lead them toward home, hoping you would not move too fast that they would stop following you, but now you can create a "lead" and if you hold onto it they will follow you no matter how fast you go, through water, etc?

I still have 1.4.6 going as my main gameplay setup.

I don't like how 1.6.2 has nerfed the Bone Meal, the Golden Apples and a few other things. I'm annoyed still at how damn hard it is when you find animals and want to breed them but have to go through hell to get them back to your home base. Why can't they set it up so when you kill an animal, it will drop a "spawn egg" or something that you can pick up into your inventory and take back with you? Sheep, cows, etc. Even horses and donkey's and stuff, especially if I can't make a saddle by myself any more.

Yeah, the water physics are slightly improved, but it seems to me they are focusing on some lame crap instead of working on things like trying to improve / de-bug the world generation and the borked chunks.

I do have 1.6.2 working now, but I can't get Mod Loader working right on its own so I have to use Magic Launcher. MC Patcher is all borked up, including font rendering stuff, so now use OptiFine, which does not require the JAR to be modified. Even with Mod Loader working via Magic launcher, it still has sound bugs and Mod Loader dependent mods have to be loaded into the .minecraft\versions\1.6.2\mods folder in order to work, where many other mods don't.

It is a real big hassle, this 1.6.x with it's new Launcher and the need for it to always try to logon to the internet and all the other changes.

Just because it's newer does not mean it's going to be better.

If you are using Mod Loader dependent mods (not just supported, but actually dependent on Mod Loader), then you should try putting that mod under the .minecraft\versions\1.6.2\mods folder so that it loads properly. Some mods, like Timber Mod, need to be placed there in order to work, it would seem.

    Just a friendly reminder. :)

Is anyone NOT having problems with 1.6.2 and OptiFine? I know people post bugs here, but usually there's a relatively even distribution of "thanks!" posts. Since 1.6 it's all negative, and I'm holding off upgrading from 1.5 because of it. If 1.6 is this bad, and OptiFine is not compatible, then I will sit it out until 1.7.

So, seriously... anyone find that it worked just fine??

B3 is working well enough for me, but B4 broke some font stuff.

The 1.6.x transition seems to be causing trouble for users and developers alike. I don't blame the devs, as long as they try to fix things. :)

I admit, being patient can be really difficult for some of us, but hopefully it will all work out in the end.

For me, I am sticking with B3 until they correct whatever small "oops" things they did with B4. Not that huge of a deal, thankfully.

Just so you know, Mod Loader, MC Patcher and others are having issues too. Lots to factor in during the switch to 1.6.x

Hey I downloaded the mod a couple weeks ago but i got to say it sure does annoy me when i decide to build most of my house out of tree wood and every piece of wood that connects to it falls down. Just built a forge and to add some contrast to the cobblestone i put spruce in between it. Needless to say i made 1 mistake knocked the block out with an axe and the entire structure fell to the ground. Could you please fix this to where it only recognizes when your cutting a tree down instead of structures? Maybe link it to the item ids on the leaves.

This mod already has a SHIFT modifier to chop a single block instead of the connecting blocks. Or, just use something other than an axe.

The beauty of this mod is its simplicity. It does what it does efficiently and quickly. That's why there are alternatives like TreeCapitator or what not.

There's room for all of 'em out there. You just gotta pick the one that works best for you.

But I like Timber Mod pretty must just the way it is. It's one of the best it is at what it does and it doesn't try to be anything more.

Yes, it does work with Magic Launcher. As long as you work around ModLoaders limitations / issues.

Had it working all day during playing. You may want to change your front page post... lol

It's all confusing, cause 1.6.x is effin up a lot of things for a lot of people, devs included.

For some odd reason I have no sound when using the magic launcher. but when I use the vanilla launcher I have sound. anyone know how to fix this/has had the same problem?

In Minecraft, try pressing F3 and S to reset the sound engine.

If that does not work, try toggling between 2 different texture / resource packs (Like Ovo's Rustic Redemption and Sphax PureBD Craft) and that may work.

    Good luck.

When I use this with Magic Launcher it makes my minecraft have no sound at all and the mods Rei's Minimap and RadarBro are not working even though I put them in. This is what I have been using in all the other versions but only stopped working this version! Have any idea why it isn't working?

Ok, first, are you using ModLoader as the first item in your Magic Launcher list? that is important. Any ModLoader specific mods, like TimberMod, should be in the new .minecraft\versions\1.6.2\mods folder and load them into Magic Launcher's using the ADD button and point to that folder.

Are you using any mods that require Forge?

The more info you provide, the better we can help.

As for sound, when you enter the game, Press F3 and the S key and it should reset the sound. Hopefully.

    Good luck.
