From the title, I almost thought you wanted to be a developer for Minecraft itself.

If cauldrons would be used instead, then brewing should be gated behind finding a nether fortress in some other way.

posted a message on way to check world version??

By the way, I checked when Minecraft started saving the world version in its saves and it seems to have started doing so in 15w32a.

If you downloaded the world from the Internet, then see if the version is stated on the page you downloaded it from. Otherwise, you *could* deduce the version from the world files (e.g. whether the terrain is saved in the Anvil or MCRegion format, whether the players are stored in /players/<username>.dat or /playerdata/<uuid>.dat, whether advancements and statistics are saved in the world, whether certain blocks, entities, or structures are present in the world), but doing so would probably take a lot of effort.

Yeah, then it's probably a world created before the version info was added to each world.

    What version are you running?

The version display was added relatively recently, so old worlds won't have the version number saved in the file.

posted a message on Photosensitive epilepsy - how to play Minecraft with it.

Yep, always set bobbing off too.

Note that turning particles off might hide important particles (such as breeding hearts or dripping water or lava), so you might want to try playing with the setting to Reduced.

posted a message on Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

Contrary to widespread belief, Beta 1.8 made no changes to caves other than to fix a bug that made them cut off along chunk borders, but the overall volume of caves remained the same - it is the addition of ravines and mineshafts that made the underground basically infinite. Here are comparisons of the code for Beta 1.1_02, release 1.6.4, and release 1.7.10:

Huh, never knew that until now. Thanks for clearing up that myth.

Interesting seeing another person's opinions on Minecraft updates. I personally prefer the less dense cave systems in 1.7 and later, and I prefer 1.7+ world generation overall. I find the endless cave systems from b1.8 – 1.6 worldgen to be extremely annoying.

Of course, your mod is impressive, and in some cases beats current Minecraft worldgen.

posted a message on Repairing Tridents/Elytras

In my opinion, Mending was a hacky solution for the work penalty making elytra repairs useless; as a result, it's simply not viable to use an elytra without Mending, and the enchantment is quite powerful on other pieces of gear. Elytra repairs on the anvil should have simply ignored the prior work penalty, making phantom membranes actually worthwhile to get.

posted a message on Rank the Minecraft Updates!

Counting the two updates that have come since the original post, but listing only the updates I was there for (i.e. 1.3 and later):

    1. 1.14 (Village and Pillage)
    2. 1.13 (Update Aquatic)
    3. 1.4 (Pretty Scary Update)
    4. 1.8 (Bountiful Update)
    5. 1.12 (World of Color)
    6. 1.5 (Redstone Update)
    7. 1.7 (Update that Changed the World; would have ranked higher for its intent, but fell short of what it could have been TBH.)
    8. 1.3 (Got a lot of nostalgia for this version.)
    9. 1.15 (Buzzy Bees; pretty much the end of the updates I consider "good" on this list)
    10. 1.11 (Exploration Update, yeah right. At least it had things that should have come with 1.9.)
    11. 1.9 (Combat Update)
    12. 1.10 (Frostburn Update)
    13. 1.6 (Horse Update)

If it's added, it should be less powerful than the ender chest (e.g. by having fewer slots or taking the chestplate slot), and you shouldn't have the ability to use multiples of them as with shulker boxes.

I like the general idea of more fruits, but this suggestion needs a reason to get these fruits instead of eating cooked chicken or steak all day.
