Hey everyone! My name is BatchCodeHacker. Call me Batch. So, anyways, I had this GREAT idea that would be perfect for the people out there who love watching work(that they would be doing themselves) done in front of their eyes, slobbering all over the keyboard in awe(insert dripping noise here). So, all you have to do is post a reply explaining what you would want done automatically. one condition: Nothing TOO crazy!
If you are running your server on your own computer, stop. You made get DDOSed, which means your Internet will be hacked. I recommend just hosting it by paying someone else A little bit of money.
After that they can fix it for you.
That is not a reason to hate villager mechanics, you may have to trade maybe even 3 times before they can breed. Hostile mobs can spawn in light levels of 0-11. If you simply lit up the area with torches, then check for spawning, however, if you are in the snapshot, NEI will not be compatible. So just simply fill the building with torches. It'll look ugly, but it works.
I disagree. Automation is my dream. Once I defeat the ender dragon, I will automate wither fighting. Then I will have room with lots of red stone, letting me choose what item I want, and the quantity.
I too, have been suddenly very find of vanilla Minecraft. Soon, I presume, he may add ore doubling, in which many mods have become great.
And, in the new snapshots, he added a new villager AI.
I don't quite understand what the problem is... Are you upset because you're running out of cobble, because it's still one of the most abundant materials in the game. Or are you upset because it's taking up room in your inventory, because that same amount of room would have otherwise been taken up with cobble... Granted, when you have a low amount of each, it takes up more room, but over time it's taking up just as much room. In fact, I'd say it's better than cobble, because it doesn't require coal to convert it to it's smooth form.
I like cobble stone alot, it looks nice in my opinion. It helps me plan out builds, and stuff like that. And it would be cool if you could smelt it into its smooth form.
We got several inventory saving changes, coal block, red stone block, wheat block and doors stacking. I think it balances even in terms of burden on inventory size.
I think they should be relatively common. It should be relatively easy to use any of them as a primary building material. Making them less common wouldn't give you any more space in your junk chests; you'd just have more cobble; at least if you have different types you have more options. It does make you need to go back from mining trips *slightly* more often, although it's not a huge effect. That could be fixed by clustering the stone variants like trees in biomes; in a given area you only find one kind of new stone. Then normally you'll only have one extra accumulator stack in your inventory, which is a pretty marginal change.
I love your idea. clustering them in certain biomes would make mining easier. I would be " Oh no, ______ biome! Steer clear!".

Yes, I get upset without cobble, it is a very good material for building.
Making these stone types appear at different layers and have different mining speed and/or pickaxe requirement would really spice up caving. What in my opinion is really lacking in the game is stuff that is exclusive to layers high up in the world. You just need to dig down to lava level and you'll get everything the game has to offer in terms of ores and raw materials. I think it would be really cool if there were ores, stone materials or other stuff that only appears in shallow cave systems or even mountain rigs.
They should make them layers then make some of them harder to dig through, that way you would be dealing with less types at a certain level and it would give more reason to use higher grade picks.
The new stone types are certainly common; they generate between layers 0-79 at 10 veins of each per chunk at the same size as dirt and gravel veins. I know this because I decompiled the code and looked at the part that generates ores (including dirt, etc). For comparison, there are 10 dirt veins between layers 0-255, making dirt over 3 times rarer than a single type of stone (dirt and gravel are also rarer in the snapshots, only half as much as before).
By the way, as a warning, if you load a world in the snapshots - do NOT try to go back to 1.7, since that will ruin your worlds, as many people are finding out the hard way (basically, item IDs are no longer numeric IDs, instead actual names, like minecraft:diamond_sword; 1.7 started adding support for this, but 1.8 changes the actual save format; when this is also done for blocks, well, let's just say you will fall into the void if you try to go back because your world will no longer exist).
Ok. I know what your thinking. Im a little kid whining.
I always have my chests filled with cobblestone. I love to build with it. I recently started playing in the new snapshots. I absolutely LOVE the new stone variants. But, they have replaced my cobblestone's reputation in my chests. I believe the veins are too frequent. Their size is perfect, but mining and ALWAYS filling my inventory up with Andesite, Diorite, and Granite. Anyone else share my pain?

It might, but it is still annoying.

Yes, a very good early game source of tools and building materials. And it would be cool if u could make furnaces with it...
Yes, I get upset without cobble, it is a very good material for building.
That post is exactly the kind I was looking for in this this topic. I subbed today
Yes, yes it would.
Good idea!
Very nice description, man!
