posted a message on Blocks And Items Duplicating Like Mad

Other that the latest Optifine, I am not using any mods, but I thought that, since Optifine is technically considered a "mod", that negates problems with MC being reportable to Mojang. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I will submit the report to Mojang at the address you provided, and see what happens. Optifine or not, the doubling problem seems to be an anomaly, and I think they should know about it. It is annoying, and dampens the enjoyment of my game (especially the ubiquitous crafting tables!).

Thank you very much for responding to my request for help.

Thank you so much for the temporary fix! It is wonderful that you responded to our concerns so quickly, and in such a good way. I am looking forward to your terracotta textures in the upcoming MC release. Meanwhile, I will enjoy Precisely Portal as is. Many thanks. :)

Edit: Is this forum just for crash reports? Because I am not sure, otherwise - since my problem didn't involve a crash - why I haven't gotten any sort of response. If it is not a serious enough issue, then you can delete this topic. As I stated, below, I am new to MC and to the forum; I tried to follow posting rules, but if I have done something wrong, I apologize. Thank you.

I recently began a new world, and after playing for several hours, found that, if I placed or dropped a block or item, when I picked it back up I got at least double the amount of that block or item, sometimes more. I had a full shulker box containing everything I collected while exploring, and after I set it down to retrieve something, then picked it back up, I had two shulker boxes in my inventory, both containing all the items in the original box!

Now, some people might think this is a glorious thing, but I don't. There is no fun in everything coming so easily...no challenge, no "aha!" moment when you find diamonds, etc. So I would like to resolve this.

Mining was not affected by duplication, but toward the end (it was a marathon mining session) my torches, which I was picking up as I left the mine, were returning two and three for each one I picked up.

The only off thing that I could find was several lines of text in the log, "[Client thread/WARN]: Something's taking too long! 'root.gameRenderer.level' took aprox 120.417608 ms". Everything else in the log was identical to the other logs. This line repeated approximately 40-50 times. There was no crash, just rabid duplication, and nothing else was amiss with my game play.

Optifine is the only mod I am using

    Minecraft Version: 1.11.2

OS: Windows Vista 64 bit (8 year old rig!)

    CPU: 2x Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

    Optifine Version: 1.11.2_HD_U_B7

    Java Version: 8

I did a search (Google and this forum), but only came up with ways to utilize some "duplication glitch" and something about mod-item duplication. Btw, I am new to Minecraft, and to the forum, but I do a lot of reading and try to resolve things on my own. Please forgive me if I have missed anything. Thank you.

Glimmar, I am so sorry about your bad news! Sometimes it seems as though life is one trial after another; just when you feel as though things are going smoothly and life is good, something takes your breath away.

Don't worry about us (and please, don't apologize!). You have given us a wonderful pack to explore, and we will be here when you return. Sending my thoughts and wishes for a peaceful and uneventful resolution to your family troubles.

I will add my request to Quazamaster's for older versions. This looks very good, and I would like to use it, but since 1.12 is still in snapshot form (not an official release yet) and terracotta does not yet exist, I would like to use the previous version of this. Is that possible? Also, it would be nice - not just for me, but for others who might want it - to be able to use older versions for the textures that have since been changed that some might not prefer to the older ones.

It is absolutely your prerogative to design/update your pack exactly as you want it, not how others do. That being said, the ability to choose which of your wonderful textures to use by choosing which version to download would be a welcome thing. Thank you.

Just a heads-up... The zip contains a folder with assets, etc., when it should just contain the assets, etc., without them being in an additional folder. Very inarticulate way of saying that, but I hope it made some sort of sense. People can repackage it themselves so it will be recognized by MC, but you might want to do that and reupload it to avoid confusion.

Otherwise, I have had my eye on this for a while. It looks great, and I am anxious to try it out. Thanks very much for all of your hard work!

Thank you so much for your quick and detailed reply. So far, I only play vanilla, except for Optifine. It sounds as though my best bet then, in order to experience your pack in its full and intended glory, is to wait until your next release. I can do that (age has taught me patience, if nothing else!), and I look forward to your next update.

Thank you for continuing to update this wonderful texture pack - as well as continue to support it, through 655 pages of comments (!).

Please forgive the ignorant question; I am a new Minecraft player, using build 1.11.2. You have posted that this is for builds through 1.11x, so does that mean that, even though my MC displays your pack with a bright red "warning" banner behind it in the in-game resource-packs list, I can still just use it anyway, and the sun will still come up over my biome sweet home? I am a dedicated and rabid steampunk fan, and so when I found your phenomenal texture pack, I downloaded it with no hesitation and much joy. I just want to be sure I won't break my world by using it despite its Cadmium Red warning. Thank you in advance, and so nicely done on the pack!

posted a message on Wolfhound Pack - Build your own custom version!

I'm sure you have probably "heard" all of this by now, but not from me, so I have to put mine in, too...

I am very impressed by the uniqueness and quality of your texture packs, and am extremely glad you are so into making such extraordinary textures. I have only been playing Minecraft for a couple of weeks, and when I first got the game, of course I had to check out all the texture packs. I saw many great packs, but then found Wolfhound. Couldn't download it fast enough. Then, I got all the others you have done. Now, the only difficult thing in my game is deciding which one to play. I love your subject matter, I love your artistic style, and I love your choice of color schemes. And, uncharacteristically, there isn't one thing in any of them I don't care for. So nicely done, all of them. I really am looking forward to whatever you choose to work on next, and I thank you very much for offering so many outstanding texture packs for my game.

posted a message on All biomes 2000x2000 blocks. Beautiful area. All animals + wolf/ocelot and horse. Lots of all kind of temples. Close villages.

I just discovered Minecraft about a week ago, and someone suggested today that I grab an appealing seed rather than mucking about trying over and over to get a suitable world. This was the first thing I found, and it is incredible. It is stunning in its richness and variety, and I have had a lot of fun traipsing around (I am an adventurer), discovering why Minecraft has so many dedicated fans.

Your world is definitely not lacking in necessary things. Thank you so much for posting it (both of them, actually; the second one is on "hold"), and for being so descriptive about your exquisite worlds. Nicely done.
