Power V with Flame; but if people are wearing armor, damage is greatly reduced.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And with your words of wisdom I see those birthdays weren't wasted either!
It's true that these circumstances aren't new; technology now enables awareness on a global level. Instantaneous, hi-res, hi-def, real-time look at ourselves. It only goes to support the idea that any alien 'intelligent' life would take one look and steer clear; "They aren't ready yet. They can't even get along with each other."

This happened to me as well and I assumed it was something with my controller. Maybe I can get it on video.

oh, that's too bad- and the only sound while working in the solitary above the nether is that relentless, cackling ghast-baby noise- arrrghh!

I looked around for it, but can't find it- sorry! I'll keep a look out in case I find it/another like it.-2148122760667438145
STATION ZEBRA is at the western edge, mid-map.
2 guards occupy military outpost; one wants fish- the other; wool.
Good luck on your mission.

I think you can avoid sieges by staying away (at least about 40 blocks) from the village center after midnight or sleep at night if you can.

That's a great start: I like your thinking, IG... fool's gold, hmmm- maybe you could try to pass it off to a villager; sometimes he falls for it, but if he doesn't and there's an iron golem around, he will try to bounce you and it also detracts from your village creds (now you''re a known counterfeiter!)- might require too much extra AI, but a fun idea.
Maybe it could be used only for gold-plating certain items/blocks or just for pressure plates.

I reiterate: GOLD ARMOR = SWAG!!!
The problem is it is too easy to get LOTS of it. If you have a zombie and/or skelly grinder and a have a looting sword in your hotbar, you would swim in gold armor to the point where you would never need to mine it, making it too easy to make golden apples, Notch apples and all the healing potions you could drink..
Seriously, I think excessive items contribute to lag and throw them all into a block of lava, saving only select LVL IV enchants or good condition non-enchanted items to repair the LVL IV items.
Maybe we could come up with a suggestion for another use for these items as I hate wasting them, too.
SMELTING GOLD ARMOR = Overpowered

There does need to be a clear path to the sky like islandgopher pointed out- couldn't see that from the pictures- but I won't rule out that it just wants a cookie!

Did you activate it with an ingot/gem?

It might not emit a beam until you give it a cookie!

The best I've had in that range are the Turtle Beach PX22's (if you find them on sale)-
In addition to great directional sound, they have separate bass/treble/your mic/game audio/chat audio control, mute, and input for mp3 player/android phone/iphone- there's even a selection for PHONE which mutes the mic to other players but allows you to talk on your phone. Comfortable and pretty rugged so far. These are wired (which I prefer). Had the PX11's, they broke fast.
You can usually find a bluetooth headset mic for around $10 US (here anyway)... they work for chat but are terrible for gaming... did I say 'terrible'? I meant TERRIBLE!

The material your note blocks are on makes a difference in the sound they produce:
(from the WIKI http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Note_block#Instruments)
Wood
Bass guitar
Sand
Snare drum
Glass
Clicks and sticks
Stone
Bass drum
Any other material
Piano or harp

It's definitely 'our' problem, regardless of whether or not 'they' fix it. Reporting it here is one of the best ways to draw attention to it, unfortunately it may be one of those 'random' problems that is difficult to duplicate and test for (memory related / not a coding error).

The PC version added BANNERS not too long ago which can be manipulated into large letters- but it's kind of laborious- I like/support this idea over the banners- blocks would integrate nicely into builds, too (but we might have to settle for banners or wish for a console exclusive)

Something I would try:: Go to that (tiny) biome; then save and exit. Reload the game and wander within about 25-30 blocks around the area (make sure it's day time). It could also take going through a night cycle.
At first I thought you said they were UNDER water when you found them... can you imagine SCUBA-Moos? I did!
