Some of these choices are very weird.
What makes this cloud exactly ?
What disk do you have ? You have a small portion of cores (are these real cores or HT cores too ?) What percentage of these cores are usable ? Why does that xeon have onboard graphics support ?
Well, the disks are 10 HDDS RAID-10. The Xeon probably doesn't have onboard graphics, and I haven't installed X.org server (ignore the nogui, I mixed that up with my another machine) . About the cores, they're HT. 25% of the full CPU is usable. Storage avail. 50GB
I got this cloud for free, so I can't be "picky" about the setups
Mar 5, 2014Hello good people of Minecraftforum!Posted in: Server Support and Administration
I have a cloud-hosted MC server with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1245 v2 3.4GHz (Allocated 3 cores)
RAM: 4.25GB (Yes, you heard it right!)
OS: CentOS 6.x 64-bit nogui
Java: jre7u45 I think, surely J7
Server: Bukkit 1.7.2R0.3
Internet: 100Mbit/s upload AND download
Launch parameters: java -Xms3328m -Xmx3328m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalPacing -XX:ParallelGCThreads=7 -XX:+AggressiveOpts -jar bukkit.jar
Around 20 plugins
I know that RAM is far from decent, so how many players do you think my server will handle?
Thanks in advance

Dec 15, 2013HiPosted in: Computer Science and Technology
Thanks for all the replies! (Both good and )
I think I'm going to use other shaders instead, such as RudoPlays. It's reasonably faster.
For the sound card, at first my understanding is that the mainboard DOES NOT include audio jacks. So it's unnecessary now.
Btw.... 2nd poster, please forgive me for my not-very-good understanding at English, but can you explain the "die hard" thingy?

Dec 15, 2013Hi there, everyonePosted in: Computer Science and Technology
I'm going to buy a new computer, and these are its specs (I'm not sure about the details.)
Budget: Under $1300 converted: 39000THB
i5 4670k ~7790B
gtx 760 2gb gigabyte ~9550B
ram 16gb 3600B
Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 LGA1150 / Z87 / 4 x DDR3 / 6 x SATA 6Gbs / ATX 4150B
OCZ ZS Series 750W - Power Supply 80 Plus Bronze 2999B
Corsair Carbide 400R case 3150B
Sound card 1000B
Plextor M5 Pro 128GB SSD 2.5" Solid State Drive Serial ATA 6Gb/s SSD 4670B
My question is: Can this computer run SEUS shader, while recording, 1080p 23" screen, and get around 60fps?
Thanks in advance.
