    If i generate a world on 1.15.2,

visit an area with spawners or anything else and update the world to 1.16.4 the already generated terrain could change?

    The spawners could disappear?

My knowledge about this stuff is practically 0, since world generation is very complex stuff to me.

Once you generate chunks those stay as is even if you change versions.

Ruined portals were added to world generation, which may have changed how dungeons generate. I don't know how different structures generate (I'm sure TheMasterCaver will be along shortly to explain in detail, they usually are), but I would guess that having certain structures grouped together in world generation isn't out of the question.

Yeah this is a decent, simple idea I can get behind. I like it, because sometimes a specific biome will be thousands of blocks away and the trip to go out there yourself isn't worth the time and effort.

I'm not into programming, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the version of grass that appears on every horizontal block is (possibly randomly) pre-generated. If that's correct, you'd have to change the coding of the block so as to change what version of grass will grow on that block.

That may be true but it isn't really relevant. You're going to have to change code to add any feature regardless.

That said, I think an easier way to do this would be to just have it placed in the center if you are sneaking when you place it, rather than having a new item. That's easier to use and I can't think of a single scenario where it would be detrimental to the player.

I see where you are going with this, but have some feedback. The first would be to remove the drinking of blood to gain hunger. Yes that's a vampire's whole "deal" but I don't think Mojang is going to spring for adding blood in any form to the game. Especially not collecting and drinking it.

The second thing I would say is how the vampirism works on a player. I would say it could be similar to a potion effect, but maybe set up in a way that it doesn't have a timer and can't be cleared with Milk. So you need to either make/find the cure or die to get rid of it which fixes your problem with spawn points. Besides, dying should revert a player back to normal when they respawn anyways imo.

Third, if players are going to take damage from sunlight, it would be nice to get a benefit too. Maybe if you get the final kill on a player or humanoid mob with a melee attack you get X amount of health back, which kind of acts as a substitute for the whole "drinking blood" thing.

    Quote from mcpecreative»

Players should protect their accounts better, and developers should add more options to protect their account, that's the only way of dealing with the problem, in my opinion.

Which is part of the reason they are having Java users migrate their accounts to a Microsoft account in the near future, as Microsoft accounts already have additional security features such as 2 factor authentication.

As for the original question of the thread, I imagine that many alt selling websites are hosted and owned in many countries where Microsoft and Mojang do not have legal reach. As much as it would likely look good from a PR standpoint and even if they managed to get a couple sites shut down, it would cost far more than whatever they would get back so they probably don't think it's worth the effort.

By introducing a mechanic that only allows these wild flowers and grasses to regrow naturally on natural terrain, not on player placed blocks. This would mean blocks would need to have metadata tags to each of them so the game can recognize what blocks are placed or altered by players and which ones were already there.

But this also comes with a caveat as well. I do tons of landscaping in my worlds, placing grass and dirt to smooth out terrain and make it aesthetically appealing. With this tag, it would prevent spread in any place I have evened out the ground by adding dirt, regardless of if I wanted that or not.

Frankly I prefer it as is. You can manually add grass and flowers however you want, and it doesn't encroach on builds after you clear it.

posted a message on We can breed villagers by throwing food to them, let's breed animals in this way too

I dunno, it seems kind of like it doesn't save any time. In the current implementation you need to hold right click and move through your animals, which while tedious, isn't very time consuming. You can burn through 60 Wheat in 10-15 seconds breeding animals with the current method.

Proposed alternative is to toss the wheat in the pen and then rely on the animals to get to it themselves, which can be difficult because they will all be pushing against each other and animals along the outer edges will have difficulty getting to the center where the food is. Especially since you'll be spawning baby animals in the center as well.

That isn't a big deal if you don't care about potential waste, both in some animals never reaching the food and wasting food if you just huck a bunch more food than you need into the pen than you needed to. But since OP has stated they would go back to pick up leftover food then it means you are spending time going in and picking it up again anyways. So you don't really save any time until we start talking huge amounts of animals, at which point you probably have no need to continue breeding in the first place.

I'm going with no support here, as the amount of time it would actually save is next to nothing unless you are feeding hundreds and hundreds of animals at once, which you don't really need to do if you already have hundreds on hand.

As said, there are no members of Mojang's staff here. We are not directly affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. Your old name is reserved for 1 week longer than the 30 day freeze after changing your name so set an appointment on a calendar app or something for 31 days after the day you changed it and change it back when that day is reached.

Locking, as nothing else can be done for this issue.

posted a message on Are Beds Overpowered?

The bed explosion thing I've always thought was dumb. Besides being 'lol indie game quirky' it is just a bad mechanic. It would be so easy to have just played a message that says "You don't feel safe in this strange environment and cannot sleep".

As for Phantoms, their spawn mechanic is pretty bad imo, but you don't have to sleep to get rid of them if I remember correctly, you just need to get into a bed. You can then get out right away and stay up through the night. I would be okay with their spawning mechanics changing so they are not tied to X days without sleeping.

Everything else is fine by me. Normally I wouldn't say this but beyond dealing with Phantoms (assuming you want to keep game rules their default settings), any other benefit the bed gives are 100% optional and self inflicted. If you are on Single Player you can just never use a bed if you don't like how easy the game is made by them. As for servers, they make their own rules on what is allowed, including rules for beds. Many servers have voting to skip nights or other things like that.

And I really don't buy that people will *always* use beds if they are an option. I like using beds, but I have absolutely started worlds where I decided I wasn't going to use a bed and then I followed through on that and never used them. It isn't that hard to have a modicum of self restraint.

Copper rusts over an incredibly long time. It would take around 60 in game days to get to the point of even slighlty weathered copper, I don't think this will be an issue but I suppose I dont see a problem with cleaning it

If players don't have easy access to bees to get Honeycomb, then they will have to deal with oxidation whether they wanted to or not. Frankly I think just smelting it in a Furnace makes the most sense. It may not be 100% realistic but it's easy for players to understand and more straightforward.

Snapshots are works in progress and are not final. I haven't played the snapshot yet but it sounds like most of the cave related generation stuff is not in this version.

So yes, ore generation will change with future Snapshots based on that message. Whether or not it's "optimal" is a different question, the changes in a future snapshot may make copper ore more ore less common, we aren't sure about final levels yet.

I agree on regards to existing structures. Heck, they get torn to shreds by current generation so I can only imagine what bigger and more varied caves will do to them.

That said, from what it sounds like it would not affect anything. Many people likely have a MS account already that isn't the same email as their Mojang account, and I doubt Mojang would want to punish people for not wanting to have two MS accounts. But we need to see more info before we know for sure.
