    I bought minecraft just before the Halloween update. My first world was a snow world and I was really sad when they went away - I know there are snowy biomes now, but it's just not the same somehow.

    Why you should join : I really want a simple server not cluttered with needless laggy plugins, but which still has an ample amount of people to talk to (or listen to) day or night whilst I'm building tree-top fortresses or desert bio-domes. A lack of sword in my head would be ideal too. Aurora seems like it may be a good fit.

    How long have you played Minecraft? : Since last September.

    Hello all. I've been playing minecraft since about September, but these days I'm a bit lonely wandering around in my huge worlds all by myself and crave social interaction whilst I build my house, or bridge, or secret underground lair... Oops, I probably shouldn't have mentioned that last one!

    Anyway, I'm looking for a server close to single player just with more people around. I'm really not interested in a server where you don't have to go and mine your own blocks to make your house as that's half the fun for me. I also don't want a world completely devoid of monsters and wildlife, sometimes they can be annoying (especially those evil chickens!), but without them it's way too easy! I'm also not big on the idea of PvP, though I'm not absolutely set against it either - maybe a world with pvp but with a safe spot when you just can't face the pointy end of a sword one more time would be fine. I'm not really sure what RP entails on minecraft, but it sounds like it might be fun, I'd have to experience it to know I guess. Oh and I'm in the UK, so a server that isn't half way around the world from me would be awesome.

    So, err, yeah. I think that's everything.

    - Ability to build without free hand outs.
    - Close to single player experience with more people.
    - Monsters and wildlife are a plus.
    - Server close to the UK (or at least low latency).
    - RP/ PvP I have no fixed opinions about.
    - Whitelist sounds like a good idea, except if it prevents me logging in :tongue.gif:
    - I've already upgraded to 1.3 so that may be a factor too!

    Umm, so if your server sounds like that maybe I can try it out and build my unholy monstrosities in your neighbourhood! :biggrin.gif:

    I've wanted something like this for a while so I'm definitely going to download it. Maybe now I can finally have nice, non-chunky ceilings that aren't completely flat either. It'll make arches a bit nicer too :smile.gif:

    Glimmar, your pack just keeps getting better and better! I always feel a bit guilty I don't use it more often as so much time and effort has been put in to it, but I'm now so used to my custom brightly coloured pack that changing to anything else makes it feel like I'm in a perpetual gloom. I periodically check back for updates though. :smile.gif:

    For some reason I had issues with this mod if it was patched in before Xau's HD texture fix, but not if it was patched after. If done beforehand then shadows (and lit areas) are all blocky and form a gradual gradient effect away from light sources unless another block casts a deeper shadow, then shadows will be incredibly dark and stubbornly refuse to be lit by torches even if they're right next to it. If patched after then it works as intended with smooth shadows (and looks awesome by the way).

    I'm not a modder and wouldn't know a piece of code from gibberish so I have no idea why it works one way and not the other. Just commenting about this in case others are having the same problem I was.

    When you open up minecraft there's a misc folder with foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png, those files need to be edited with the colours you want to appear. They work best overlayed on a greyscale grass/ leaves in terrain.png.

    Whilst I have sometimes thought that having an rpg element to minecraft would be fun, it really isn't what minecraft is all about. If you have to ask if there is such a mod before you're willing to buy and play the game, then I don't think minecraft is really for you and your friend. It'd be far easier and quicker to look around online for an actual rpg to play. :-/

    However, Hey0 is a mod for SMP that I think gives some rpg-ish elements to multiplay servers. Well, sort of. I'm not entirely certain though as I only play singleplayer mode and haven't really checked out the SMP mods for awhile.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to make marble available in minecraft again (well, until the latest update broke everything once more!) since Drakona is too busy at the moment to update. My only real issue is that because this relies on Shockah's modloader I can't use it with Bucyruss' biome mod for the time being. It's a hard choice to make so I hope they become compatible soon! :smile.gif:

    That's what I'm saying, it could be abused to have like, 20 inventories, then in those chests, you could have more chests, and so on. >.>


    ... I'm not sure I understand how that's possible. Chests have a finite limit, once they're full they're full. Unless otherwise modded chests in chests can't be used like a placed chest and if you had a mod like that then being able to move stacks faster would be a bit of a moot point since you already had the infinite inventory.

    Or am I missing something really obvious? It's late here and I may be having a dumb moment.

I'd love a mod like that, especially when I'm moving cobblestone from my entirely full inventory to chests for later building use.

    Err, I don't exactly have the original textures, but I do have both dark and light white ones in my current selection. Since it's temporarily impossible to embed images on the forum at the moment I'm afraid you'll have to go to http://wyrdness.magatsu.net/games/marble.png to get it though. Copy paste the bits you want in to your terrain.png as per usual, yadda, yadda, etc. :smile.gif:

    Hehe. I recently did my own hellstone and reed re-textures that look eerily like yours. Mine aren't nearly as cute though. I think when your pack is done it'll give Frenden's pack a run for it's money on my minecraft :biggrin.gif:

    Okay so if i paste the marble textures into the Realistic Texture terrain.png, the right most marble texture overwrites a few tiles of the purple thing, will that cause animation issues with the portals? (thats what the purple is, right?)
    Not that i care about the portals, but just thought i'd ask :smile.gif:


    The purple tile things are probably custom textures for the portal swirlies (my current texture pack doesn't have any and everything works fine!), which don't work at the moment anyway, so I think you should be fine if you paste over them. :smile.gif:

    I think the glass looks fine as it is, it's easy to tell what it is but it doesn't have any lines obscuring vision. I also love the lighter cobblestone, I always find the usual stuff so dark and oppressive when I build with it. In fact I like how the whole pack (so far) is bright and cheery, so many textures on these forums are dark and gloomy that it's nice to see an alternative to those! :smile.gif:
