Well, while the server is a little laggy for me, it's pretty much all I was looking for in a server. People aren't dicks, and the staff is helpful.
I really can't wait until all the protocols and protections are put back in place. Consider this my online Minecraft home!

And the lag is because my player limit SHOULD be 8. SO im pushing it pretty far. If I can get a few kind souls to donate I can upgrade and make the lag go away :smile.gif:. It costs a lot of money to run a server!
Maybe I can help out a little. I don't have much but I'm a giver. What kind of a financial bump are we looking at to getting a less-laggy environment?
Also, to any prospective players interested in this server, I'll tell you right now that I've been searching ALL NIGHT for a good, friendly, helpful, grief-free server, and this is the ONLY one I found that was willing to give me a chance without first killing me, laughing at me for being new, or pretty much being total dicks to my face.
This is a good one, folks, if you have the right mindset.
I mean, 5 dollars a month from just a handful (like 6 or 7) people would be insanely helpful. I'd still be paying a bit, but it wouldnt be a big deal. I could, and would, do it.

Why I want to join: Not only am I obsessed with the Civ series, but I love minecraft as well. the name of this server was enough to make me happy, as a combination of two of my addictions.

I'm interested in checking out this server. I've talked to Backdraft on another thread, but I'll outline what I'm looking for in a server here.
Basically, I hate PvP. I think it's a horrid thing that wastes people's time and ruins the fun of other players. I'm not looking for a server that is PvP centric. In fact, if there is any PvP at all, I want to be far, far away from it. I want a place that my friends and I can log on to, mine, build, and fight mobs. I do not want my items stolen, I don't want to be griefed, and I don't want to be randomly killed by some jackass for my stuff.
I love just playing Minecraft for the sake of playing. I like mining for precious ore, and exploring for dungeons and giant underground caverns. I like crafting and making new things, and building up my home to better survive against the night-dwellers. Heck, I even enjoy making irrigation ditches for farming!
In short, I love everything about this game, but I absolutely hate people who would ruin it for me.
If this is the kind of spirit this server fosters, I'm in 110%.

Chest protection will be on once Bukkit decides to work. And PvP is for the wilderness.
I read about towns and how PvP is not allowed in them, and that did interest me and my fellow mates. However, we really want to just play together and start from scratch, and that means braving the PvP infested wilderness to establish our own town/area.
Is there a way to get to a fresh area in your server without having to deal with PvP?
I really havent had ANY pvp at all honestly. And with the world so vast, its rare to find someone unless you go towards the big buildings.
ok so does that mean that everyone who has asked to join is allowed to do so unless explicitly told that they can't?

Hey hey and hello! I am Mr. 2tOo, and do I have something for you.
I played on WoM classic servers for several months and have quite the experience in architecture.I am not
the greatest miner and personally dislike the task, but know how to tree farm and farm grain. I stick with
mostly a Log/Stone composition, with cobble and half steps thrown in. I typically use plain wood for flooring,
but sometimes do ornate designs or checkered board.All around, I would be a wonderful asset to the server,
adding knew dimensions to your buildings!
I'm an avid minecraft player, playing as much as I possibly can. I am starting to learn the redstone circut systems so I will be able to do menial circutry work. I am a reasonably creative fellow so I have wild and wacky ideas that usually work. But yeah, I'm online often and I usually keep working on minecraft projects til they are finished.

hmm seems interesting. I'd like to join but i have one question, is this at all a minecraft version of the civilization series? but as to play style. well I'm not very adventurous and i have had a bad experience with PvP in other games in which you drop stuff when you die so I'd probably live like a hermit, in a cliff side base that is.
