is any one else getting that error or know what it means?? Also could someone post a link to the 1.2.3 SERVER JAR mine is a bit weird and i dont know where to get the .jar
I get the exact same error constantly, it seems to happen randomly when placing blocks in a certain spot/area, or breaking blocks, and it ends up repeatedly kicking me out, then crashing. It might be because I'm on an adventure map (spellbound caves by vechs) and some other people have had problems with vechs maps crashing their games in 1.2.
Yeah, the maps don't seem to like the Anvil format... Kaizo especially, not sure if any others have problems.
Edit: Yeah just tested Kaizo myself, crashed. Would anyone be so kind as to pull up an error report of the crash? I can never figure out how to do it properly.
Yeah, I've had a ton of trouble with Spellbound Caves, it crashes in SMP and SSP. It runs well for me most of the time, but randomly has massive lag spikes that freeze the game for 15-20 seconds, and usually crashes, although sometimes it goes back.
Have you checked windows firewall, or any other firewall software (Norton) you might have for the proper exclusions?
I looked through the Windows Firewall advanced settings, and there was already an inbound rule for "Minecraft Server" (I ran one before without a problem) but there was no outbound rule, so I made one just in case. However, I checked on yougetsignal.com, and the ports are still closed.
Both of the rules are set to private (because I wasn't sure which one to choose out of private/public/domain).
You can share your LAN IP, it's not broadcast on the internet as it's "hidden" through NAT on your router. Not much can be done with it.
Did you set the remote ports or did it do that automatically? Did you reboot the router after setting it up? Did you make sure windows firewall isn't blocking port accesas well?
I didn't set the remote ports, because most of the guides online recommended not to. I assumed I wouldn't have to reboot the router because after I added both those settings, it said something like "applying changes", and nothing was mentioned about having to reboot the router. I'll give that a shot though.
This question has probably been repeated many times, but what am I doing wrong? I've looked through tons of threads, been to portforward.com a ridiculous amount of times, but I still can't seem to get it to work. The problem most likely is with the LAN ip address, but I can't figure out why.
Edit - I used the LAN ip that came up as my Ipv4 address when I used "ipconfig" in cmd.
Normally I'd tell you to get pictures, but I played anyway. There's not much there to go by. You need some rules and a theme or storyline. Also in your "Epic Jump Course" you can just use the waterfall to get all the way to the top. And in the last room with the lavafall easter egg (im assuming its an easter egg) you need to make a way to get back out.
It's pretty basic so far, I haven't worked on it too much yet so there's no storyline. I didn't think of the waterfall thing though :sad.gif:. And again, the lava thing was sort of spur-of-the-moment, so I completely forgot about getting out :tongue.gif:. Thanks for the feedback though.
This is the adventure map I've started to make, only three levels so far, but I'm wondering whether or not I should continue, or if anyone has any ideas for future levels.
I had a world in my server, and with the 1.8 release I decided to switch it to creative just to take a look. Well, now even when I switch the server back to survival, it stays on creative mode for me (infinite health, blocks, etc). I've tried un-opping myself, changed the server type, and none of that seems to work. Also, when i put the world in singleplayer, it's still a creative world. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?
None of this has worked either :sad.gif: and i don't really want to completely turn off the firewall, however i allowed both hamachi and the minecraft server exe through it too
both of you NEED to be connected to the same hamachi group + both hamachis need to be powered on, and just edit the ip in your server properties to the IP you have for your hamachi, then there you go, also make sure they are adding the right port number, and using a : instead of a ;
That won't work. They first need to connect to your Hamachi network using their own Hamachi client. Then they should be able to join with localhost as ip.
