can you make it so that the carpenters slope prism can be place upside down.

I asked something similar about the collapsible block a page or two back :)

Think they (quite rightly IMO) want to get everything working as it should before implementing new features. Being able to place blocks on multiple surfaces would be epic though, i'm dreaming of crazy vaults and huge arch spans...

Wish i could help, got a custom model of the holy hand grenade from Monty Python running in Eclipse, but registering it as a usable entity is beyond me lol.

There is blindly following tutorials (me) and there is knowing what you are doing... You are definitely in the latter category!

For 1.10.2 the blocks will all have a single render orientation. In the future, I plan to have proper render rotation support to achieve the look you want. More than likely on release much of the render code will be as-is from 1.7.10, but it can be improved later.

Understandable that you wish to get things running smoothly as they stand.

Very much appreciate your taking the time to consider my suggestion and reply accordingly, many thanks.

@SpikeVanHellsing May be wrong here, but think the idea i was talking about a couple of posts above might have the same effect as what you are suggesting. A sideways placeable collapsible block so you could alter the sideways dimensions rather than top or bottom.

If you could also place it facing different directions on a vertical surface as you can when placing the currently implemented collapsible block on a horizontal surface, the versatility offered would be mind boggling!

I'm not sure the placement direction would matter too much though, as you could simply alter the desired quadrants with the hammer and the effect would still have the same result.

Sorry to Mineshopper, hate to sound so pushy, but i tried modding and so far it's hopeless! If you could make this happen it would be awesome!

Okay, had a tinker about, very cool, looking forward to the implementation of the other features (no pressure btw!)

Had a play with the full version on my Daughters 1.7.10 profile too, did wonder about the possibility of making the collapsible block able to be (shift) placed flat on vertical surfaces?

The thinking behind the idea was that if you could place it as such and alter the profile of the side, rather than the top or the bottom, then there would be even more scope for broad varied radius arch profiles etc.

That may be a bit of a pants explanation, so took the liberty of making a 3rd rate illustration to show what i meant:

Terrible i know, but you can see the blue bits are normal blocks, the green parts are collapsible blocks shaped from below and the red parts are the bit i was wondering about. Placed flat against the vertical surface rendering the side as the part to be manipulated with the hammer.

Apologies for being a pain, recently tried fooling about to get some OBJ models into MC so appreciate the efforts you have gone to in making such a mod, hope not to cause any offence with this brazen suggestion ;)

P.S. If this is already possible and i'm more of a moron than i thought, please let me know how to do it (not very bright! lol)

Will keep everything crossed, having tried and failed to even get one poxy item to show up in the game i can begin to appreciate the effort it takes to port an entire complex mod.

Best of luck to you and those who are assisting in the efforts.

Thanks to Mineshopper for keeping the modfires burning, fingers crossed that the 1.10.2 port is not too troublesome. Totally need this mod! :D

Glad to hear that. FYI: the reason that happened is that "rock" is a mixture of stone and cobblestone, and cobblestone is treated as a man-made block by WorldPainter when importing Minecraft maps, so it isn't imported and leaves holes in the ground where they were.

However, when merging the map that should automatically fix itself, provided you haven't interfered with the holes, as WorldPainter will merge the cobblestone blocks from the existing map back into the holes. If that doesn't work right, let me know! I'm not sure if the Frost layer could be interfering with that.

Of course! Thank you! Should have figured that one out, but i'm not the sharpest ball in the tool shed lol.

The problems came from wishing to edit a certain area, thus once merged back to the game, the "original" cobblestone would be re-rendered and added to that which was put down when editing, resulting in further unevenness.

Guessing all is working correctly with WP. I would double check to test that but it would involve a fair bit of back tracking from where progress is now, so hope you can forgive me simply chalking it up to experience.

Thanks again, keep up the awesome work! :)

Hi there, must say first off IMO WP is an awesome program, can get immersed for hours tinkering with various tiny (or huge) elements, so many thanks to the creators for the opportunity to engage in such practices!

Unfortunately i have hit a snag and was hoping someone could assist.

Set to work on a map and after installing the Conquest Reforged mod and resource pack i could not resist building on a site in the map earmarked for a structure.

I only exported a few relevant tiles to work on, but merged the entirety of the map with the Minecraft save (minus the tiles that contained the structure) to integrate it with the full map.

All seemed fine when wandering around the map in game, but the problem arose when importing the map back to WP to work on more terrain elements.

When the map is imported into WP the "Snow on Rock" layer is filled with pits and spikes rather than rendering smoothly, and any attempt to paint on that layer results in making the issue worse.

Tried making sure it was not a rogue filter setting causing the problem, before finally realising it occurs on initially importing the map to WP.

Very much a novice in all this so i can imagine you would need more information to diagnose what the problem is, but here are a couple of screenshots:

Part of the original prior to importing the save from the game:

All seems fine above, but importing the dat file from the game results in the effect seen below:

Kind of wondering if it is something to do with the Conquest resource pack , it all seems to work fine when exporting, just this issue when importing things back.

As above, not exactly a master at this stuff but some pointers as to where i'm going wrong would be great. P.S. don't laugh too hard at the map in the screenshots, still a noobs work in progress lol!

    Many thanks!

EDIT: Not to worry, fixed it by removing the "Snow on Rock" terrain layer, using stone to replace it and adding a custom ground cover of snow.

    Phew! Onwards and somewherewards...
