posted a message on New Steve Skin? [POLL]

there shouldn't be a new default skin. Steve is, like said before, the mascot of Minecraft, and it would just be a waste of time. It's also very easy to change your skin.

I... Actually wouldn't mind a tutorial world if it were implemented like console edition...
Also, question. What PvP strategy is lost at the removal of an achievement?

The PvP strategy of "Achievment Masking" is lost. This is meant for games like UHC, and you get wood before opening your enventory, and if you do it right people wont be able to see your progress.

posted a message on Remove "Taking Inventory"

You haven't given any good points, and there is no reason to remove it. As states, achievements act as a guide to the game without actually being a guide. Would you rather have a "WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY THE TUTORIAL? <Yes> <No>" messege pop up when you start a new survival world? Also, removing this would mess up a pvp strategy, and would overall be a waste of time and just stupid.

    NO SUPPORT.

    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

What is "MasterCaverbots" supposed to mean? Maybe you should edit the title to remove it because it doesn't sound nice.

Anyway, when I talk about "big caves" in 1.6 I'm referring to cave systems, not individual caves and that is where the difference between versions really lies - that is definitely one of the biggest single caves that I've ever seen in vanilla. In fact, it is close to the largest cave that can be generated (no changes have been made to the sizes of individual caves since sometime back in Alpha or Beta), which will have a maximum width of 27 blocks if it doesn't branch before half its length is reached (up to 84 blocks before branching, so a cave like that that runs from the surface down to lava level is easily possible. You can also find wider caves if they curve around on themselves).

"Mastercaverbots" is a play on words of "Autobots, roll out" since a thread titled "Massive Cave!" Is a thread that you would naturally reply to(by my observations). About how often do you think that a cave like the one I found curves around on itself? One sad thing about this cave is that as soon as that big shaft finished it makes a rough transition into a normal sized cave. Would a cave like this generate, but with some larger sized caves near the bottom of it? And sure, ill edit the title.

When generating villages, sometimes the houses generate completely dark even though there are torches, and mobs can spawn. Simple as that, hope I answered your question.

posted a message on Massive Cave!

Recently, I was playing in my SP world in 1.8, and I found this awesome cave. The cave itself isn't very big, but... Just see what I mean. Of course, since MasterCaver is obviously going to reply to a thread like this, its nothing compared to 1.6 standards, but its huge compared to the sucky 1.8 caves. In case anyone is wondering, this amazing seed is "B17Fortress"(without the quotes) and it has a water temple right next to spawn, and the coordinates of the cave can be seen in the pics below.

posted a message on Is Mending Too OP?
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

You have to admit that being able to indefinitely use something like this is a bit over the top

Yes, you can even make that using only books, which will use up all six anvil uses allowed but Mending makes that irrelevant. Note that if you tried to make such a bow (minus Mending) prior to 1.8 it would cost 46 levels just for the enchantment cost, plus 2 levels for the prior work penalty and 1-4 levels for a repair depending on how damaged the bow being used to repair it is (if Mending were made to replace renaming to keep the cost down it would add 4 more levels; oddly they did not make Mending cost 8 levels, like Infinity or Silk Touch, or even more; plus an additional charge for 6 enchantments; this table only goes up to 5 though, which already adds 15 more levels).

Sure, maybe it is a little over the top and could use a nerf, but I think they are on the right track with adding something like this. I personally don't like how I can only repair my items 6 times, so this is a nice thing to have, so I only have to reenchant when I get knocked into lava in the nether or something of the sort.

And off topic: Wow, what a short(compared to all your other posts) post from you!

posted a message on Is Mending Too OP?

I do not think it is OP. Enchanting new items and repairing old items isn't very fun, and I find it to be fairly wasteful too. It seems like 4/5s of what Ienchant is complete junk, and in the time to get 1 good sword from enchanting, I get 10 bad swords. Might just be my luck, but enchanting new items isn't very efficient, considering that mobs are easy enough to fight with no armor and a wood sword; much less full protection 4 diamond armor.

"But B17, it will make it too easy!" I hear you saying. Enchanting and repairing is not a hard task. Get a stack of lapis ore then mine it up with Fortune 3 and your set for forever. Set up an XP farm and your set for forever. At the point where you have the best tools, weapons, and armor in the game, you already have plenty of diamonds to repair. It isn't a challenge, just an annoying task that I would rather not do, and by not doing it save myself a ton of time so I can do more interesting things.

The only axe that ever did 3 damage was a wooden axe. All axes did 1 less damage than there sword counterpart; diamond axe did 6 damage, iron did 5, ect. Also, work on the layout of your thread, it's truly terrible.
