There are only 22 unique potions right now.

Mind if I ask what those 22 are?
Only managed to find 17 (Not counting the ones with no effect) and am trying to document them all.

glowstone not work on that one?

Not from what I can tell, it will downgrade the 4:00 pot back into the 1:30 one though.

Found another one, updating the wall-o-text. =3

    Potion of Slowness:
    Speed I + Fermented Spider Eye = Slowness I (1:30)
    Slowness I + Redstone = Slowness I (4:00)

If anyone wants to recommend any other feel free to link or something though.

Good old-fashioned text is probably the way to go.

And to that end, this is what I have come up with from messing around for an hour or so this afternoon.

Bottled Water + Nether Wart = Awkward Potion
[referred to as 'Awkward' from here on]
(Base for all known potions at this point?)

    Potion of Strength:
    Awkward + Blaze Powder = Strength I (3:00)
    Strength I + Redstone = Strength I (8:00)
    Strength I + Glowstone = Strength II (1:30)

    Potion of Swiftness:
    Awkward + Sugar = Speed I (3:00)
    Speed I + Redstone = Speed I (8:00)
    Speed I + Glowstone = Speed II (1:30)

    Potion of Fire Resistance:
    Awkward + Magma Cream = Fire Res I (3:00)
    Fire Res I + Redstone = Fire Res I (8:00)

    Potion of Healing:
    Awkward + Ghast Tear = Healing I
    Healing I + Glowstone = Healing II

    Potion of Poison:
    Awkward + Spider Eye = Poison I (0:45)
    Poison I + Redstone = Poison I (2:00)
    Poison I + Glowstone = Poison II (0:22)

    Potion of Weakness:
    Awkward + Fermented Spider Eye = Weakness I (1:30)
    Weakness I + Redstone = Weakness I (4:00)

    [Edit] Potion of Slowness:
    Speed I + Fermented Spider Eye = Slowness I (1:30)
    Slowness I + Redstone = Slowness I (4:00)

    Current active potions: 17

Unsure if 'Water Breathing' made it into the new system.

If anyone sees something missing, feel free to point it out.

Well, I didn't get much chance to use the shields back when you first put them in, notch breaking the mod with a new patch the next day and all. (And stupid me for not having a backup .jar)

But I see where you are coming from with the parry thing.

Since the old shift-block and the click-parry seem to have the same function (Slows you to a crawl when held) maybe you could work the shields to 'steal' the parry function when equipped? That way it's the say control for both, the difference being that the weapon block still lets some damage though (I think).

That or try and remap the parry to shift, that way you can retain weapon parry with spears, etc.

As for the grill, maybe set it to only be able to cook X food before it pops, spilling all its contents out?
Though, making it only cook one per grill would still be balanced from what I can tell from playing 1.8.

Also, how is managing the whole 'jumping crit strike' thing with the dagger/spears/etc going?

    Edit:
I managed to track down a 1.7.3 backup I made a while ago.
The EI components seems to not be working, no idea why.

Been a while since I took a look here.
Notch still updating soon after you have a release?

Anyway, plans for 1.8 compatibility? I kinda miss 2X2. =3

They die faster to water than zombies do to sunlight, kinda lame.

Has no one else noticed that they also die from RAIN?

There is one way to spice up the 'travel x direction' challenges. Time.

*Pulls example out of thin air*

"The aim of this challenge is to see how far people can get with the bare minimum resources in the shortest amount of in-game days.

    Rules:
    -No Shelter
    -Need to stay on surface
    -Only building material is wood/stone

    Notes:

If you manage to runs surface Iron, great! But you will need to stop to smelt it.

You are allowed to use torches, but seeing as you must rely on surface coal, you might want to save it for cooking food, to fuel all that sprinting around you will be doing."

However, it is still boring, as most people who know what they are doing can stay alive indefinitely using a wooden sword and no armor.
(Fun fact, the new jump-slice lets you 2-shot things with a stone sword)

Building out of nothing but mushrooms, now there is an interesting challenge. =3

    Mhm.

I admit, the first time I agroed one, it made me jump.

    But lets see...
    Dies from water.
    Dies from RAIN..
    Dies from sunlight...
    Can't fit through doors....
    Can't teleport through walls.....

Easily the weakest mob, even Zombies are more of a threat. =(

Just noticed that you can move them around with pistons without destroying them or changing their orientation.

Could be interesting what a person could build if they had enough patience.

So, I have been messing around with giant mushrooms on a fresh world.
(Spawned in a swamp, had at least 5 skellys worth of drops after the first night)

I noticed that the Brown mushrooms have a nice 'platform' appearance, and the red ones are hollow.

So, my question is, has anyone thought about using these to construct with? If so, what have you managed?

I have a bellow below, which blow the fire made by the hibachi (it's the yellow square, and it's working).
I followed the recipe list here http://adf.ly/552467/btwrecipelist (it's the link on the front page, not mine).

Bellows need to be powered by an alternating gearbox to work correctly. =3

Been using BTW for about a week now, and have been noticing a trend.

It seems that it's consistently taking me about the same amount of time to go from Tech 0 (New world) to Tech 2 (Running Windmill) as it does to go from Tech 2 all the way to Steel Tech+.

Just wondering if intended to start so slowly of if I am just missing something?

Awesome mod none the less. =3

I can't harvest lumber with your mod please fix. I punch the trees down but no lumber comes out.

That is part of the mod, I think its mechanics are stated in the OP.
You can circumvent it by playing on easy or lower.
    Or just carry an Axe/Hatchet.
