    Tekkit experience ( little..alot ? ) : More FTB than Tekkit but a good bit with both, but not in the past year or so... a while back.
    Do you have any experience with server administration & configuration ? : Yah I helped run a server though I didn't do any of the configuration, mostly just helped people getting to know how the mods worked and set up shops and server buildings and the like

    I don't NEED anything.

    Just know minecraft could be sooo much better. I want to encurage making a 'nex gen' minecraft so to say.... or inspire some good minecraft clones *shrugs*.

    There would have to be a greate number of game servers running to suport all the core worlds, that is a good point. It might mean there would have to be a monthly fee if you whern't (co-)paying for a premium server. That sucks.
    Still i I would pay.

    was thinking on world types and so far have:
    standard
    skyland
    nether
    underworld
    Asteroid belt (no air! But bases around the portals and not a staring world)
    lunar/alien world
    dreamscape
    "womb level" type maybe
    world tree (one HUDE tree and it's branches)
    event/Holliday worlds
    capital citys

    Yes and every world in the MMO would have atleast one stable portal SOMEWHERE to a "capital city" that is just a world with a floating cirty or some kinda city and not much else that act as a hubs for the mmo.

    As far as resource management...... that would become a problem after some time. I was thinking maybe every so many months chunks of the world would reset that are X away from a calmed land spot. This would require people to go out in search of good mining sports to claim to clean out, then abandon and move on. (so come refresh the area will be wiped and re-populated)

    This is the internet man.... trying to get mean people not to be mean when they have the added protection of a false sense of anonymity then they just get meaner and there isn't much you can do about that.

    Though I agree with my friend the best way to stop that would probably be to brake that vale but I'm a nice guy and I wouldn't let some one do that for me.

    I don't really get all that mad just frustrated, don't hate anyone.... forgive and forget. lol Just makes things worce on me though. XD

    One self censored word is not cussing some one out, and stating that I'm shocked that you could miss the point that i'm talking about making a brand new minecraft, ei like minecrft 2 but not realy... astounds me because it's in the title.... and that I AM dyslexic and have several learning disordered related to language and I don't miss things like that.

    Reporting my post for a single censored word and then saying it was a horrable terrable post and I'm a bad bad man after the post is deleted so no one can read it just shows your intent here is not to inform or argue the topic at all, just to troll it.

    Which was obvious before being the fact everything you complained a bout is invalidated if you read the OP.

    But like I was trying to say

    MMO servers = no mods

    Private servers = mods

    but you can link your private server to MMO and take non modded items back and forth so long as the server isn't using cheat mods or the world is created with an over abundance of resources for the level of danger present in it. Then you can't carry any items to or from that world , but you can still move from one to the other.

    So if say the curent minecraft was set up this way you could leave the main servers for a FTB one with an iron pickaxe but if you tried to return with a steel tinker's pickaxe you would be warned to leave it behind or it would be lost.

    This isn't the 80's... C++ is not used by companies like microsoft.(unless there just saving money by not having to train people as much) They have there own far far better computer languages. C++ hasn't changed much at all in 30 years.... not really something to compare to as "just as good as".

    Maybe i'm just not explaining things well.... quite lightly... but it seams a lot like the lot of you just arn't reading it.

    ALL the servers that are a part of the MMO would be the same and have NO MODS.

    You CAN though link a private server to the MMO if you want and long as there arn't cheat maps/mods then you can take all items from the main game to and from as you wish. If you have the same modpack you can also just travel to and from private servers with out pause.

    If there is a variation in the mods or it's a cheat-modded world then you will be warned your going to lose items unless you store them on the world you are in before leaving.



    I guess I shouldn't have put MMO in there because people tend to focus to much on something, it was only something cool to allow more than one kind of world.... instead of just overworld, nether, end, eather, ect..... there be a VAST digree of worlds out there to explore.

    I don't know about you, but I think your mine craft world being a string of underground caverns and finding a portal that opens up into a world that is a buch of islands floating in the sky where other people are building and playing is rather cool.

    Why is it when I make a post do most the people only read the title for the first few sentences.u.u

    It's not about making it an MMO so much as making a better minecraft..... just I see no reason why, that while your at it this can't be done. I'm not even talking about changing the way you play offline or online as you wish...

    The point of making it an MMO is if you CHOSE to play online, all the free public servers can be connected allowing people to pass from one to another. If you would take the time to read over things you will see it presents a lot of interesting posabilites.





    Besides... If you can't take the time to bother to read over the whole post, why are you taking the time to whine about it?

    MMOs tend not to have micropayments unless there 100% free to play.

    I'm suggesting pay once and premium worlds to keep money flowing. If they wanted they could set it up so the only privet servers that can connect to the online game would be premium ones and that would suck.

    I know most of it can be done in mods but for some of it you get to the point your rebuilding the game from the ground up.

    This is why I designated some things as what i saw as musts, and others just suggestions..... the suggestions are things that could be mods.... while the others are things that if worked into the game from day 1 will lead to a much better game.

    The biggest being the first two on the list, making the game better optimized, and building the game around the use of modding tools so the game is easier to mod and mods have more options available to them as to what they can affect.

    I particularly like the idea for some Instances / Dungeon Worlds...

    People already make a lot of them, It would be nice to see some that actually reward you for completing them, and help you out in your main game.

    It would just have to be set to load how ever many chunks down they want it to..... 10? 20? how ever many the server admin will allow. Though being that most alow 5 ~ 25 chunk loaded by chunk loaders per person....

    thats 80 ~ 400 chunks with this system. So if you are if you are mining an area 100 blocks by 100 blocks then you could probably let it blast out a good 100~130 blocks down with out bothering anyone. Then the rig could lower and do it again.
    honestly though I think..... new chunk system.... new auto minning system.

    The mods would likely have to add a compatibility patch for this when it's made a mod.

    But it would mean less blocks loaded by the chunk loader and less server load!! woot!
