Working on almost a complete overhaul of this mod for 1.7.10, any fans out there who used to have this, I would love some input! Also would be nice to know if anyones still interested in it, but either way its a fun mod to work on so watch for pre-releases soon and hopefully a full release in the near future
For now it would be greatly appreciated if the community could keep this thread alive with ideas and features to add, and in return I'll be spending more time on the mod!
As always thanks everyone for the continued support! Never could have done what I have without everyone at my back
In the meantime downloads and info are in the spoiler below, stay tuned!
Old Post:
Updated for 1.4.4! (Finally)
Updated Gingerbread Houses
changed some recipes added sour patch kids
added caramel apple added caramel glass
This mod adds an awesome new dessert themed, Candy Cane Forest Dimension, which includes mobs, structures, ores, tools, and of course, desserts!
The mod adds a ton of blocks and items, which are shown by the creative tab they show up on in the spoiler below, but are better explained later on.
Blocks/Items by tab:
Decorations
Misc Items
Food
Tools
The first thing your going to notice, is that a few new things will spawn in the over world. These things are Cherry Trees, Blueberry Bushes, and Mint Plants.
We'll talk more about Blueberry bushes and Cherry Trees later, but for now, mint plants are pretty important. If you want to get to the Candy Cane Forest, your going to need to craft a portal out of candy cane blocks, which can be made like this:
That red powder in there, is red sugar, which can be made like this:
The leaf in the recipe is a Mint leaf, which can be obtained from a mint plant.
Once you have all your candy cane blocks, put them into the shape of a nether portal, and light it by placing sugar stone in one of the bottom corners.
Sugar stone is crafted like this:
You can also craft the less useful sugar dirt like this:
Then step through the portal and chef, out the breathtaking views! In the candy cane forest, you will see giant towering candy canes. Trees made of nothing but cotton candy or ice cream.
Houses that will make your mouth water:
The caramel windows on the houses are crafted like this:
Gumdrops of every color, and a bunch of lively little gingerbread men (they drop edible gingerbread men when killed and will also strike up a conversation if you right click them):
Also sour patch kids!
But be careful! At night, you will find some less than pleasant creatures…
The stay puff marshmallow man will obviously drop marshmallows, but if he is flaming when he dies, his marshmallows will be cooked!
The Candy Zombie will most likely drop a gummy brain, but if your very lucky, he'll drop the jaw breaker sword that he is holding!
Dont worry though, they'll burn away in the daytime:
Many new ores can also be found in the Candy Cane Forest, including yellow sugar, purple sugar, green sugar, blue sugar, and jawbreaker ore.
(Note: Actual Ore Distribution will vary, this is just to show what ores will spawn, and what they look like)
Don't mine too far down ore you'll run into Black Licorice! (wwwwww ) Jaw Breaker ore drops Jawbreakers, which can be eaten, OR can be crafted into new tools! Btw, instead of sticks, dessert tools use barber poles, which are crafted like this:
And heres the tools:
Jaw Breaker tools will have the same strength as diamond.
You can also craft tools out of candy cane blocks, which have the same strength as wood, and sugar stone, which will have the same strength as stone.
Candy Cane:
Sugar Stone:
Another tool you may want to craft to use in the Candy Cane Forest is the spatula:
It is used to scrape the red sugar off of all of the dusted sugar stone that surrounds you, or to get frosting or chocolate frosting or maybe even sprinkles, off of the roofs of houses.
To light up the dessert dimension, you can make rock candy torches! They can all be crafted like this:
Everything else is pretty much food, which will all be explained in the spoiler below. Bon Apetit!
Ice Cream
First off, you'll need cones, or sundae bowls, which can be crafted like this:
Then you'll need your ice cream to put in them! Different flavored ice cream can also be crafted:
To make an ice cream cone, put your scoops in a cone!
To make a sundae, you'll need 3 scoops:
You can also add sprinkles to your sundaes!
Snow Cones
To make snow cones, you will first need cups, and ice:
To make an unflavored snow cone, just put the ice in the cup:
To add flavor, throw a blueberry or a cherry on top:
Rock Candy
To make Rock Candy, you need different colored sugars, which can be crafted, or found in ores in the Candy Cane Forest:
Then, you throw the sugar onto a stick with some water:
Cake
A new recipe for regular cake:
You can also make chocolate cake like this:
Or like this:
Misc!
Roasting Marshmallows!
Cooking Caramel!
Making Chocolate!
Caramel Apple!
Other non-food recipes:
Cherry Log to Cherry Planks:
Cherry Slabs:
Cherry Stairs:
Paper From cotton candy stick:
Hope you enjoy the mod!

This has been thought plenty of times before but I don't think anyone has done it so far!(feel free anyone to correct me If I'm wrong)
Good luck with that!

Because this makes as much sense as what I just read!
Most freaking random mod I have ever seen!

Wolves, witches, bats, red dragons, pink elephants, new sounds and all that stuff are fine and all, but after Minecraft 1.4.1million+ is out and all major bugs have been fixed, I would like Mojang to take a very loooooooooooooooooong break from all that stuff and focus on something really epic like f.e.
1. The unfinished story of Minecraft (f.e. What happened to the Pigmen?)
2. A better terrain generator because the current one sucks @@
3. Mod api
4. New mechanics (The Anvil is nice but it's still kinda buggy and unfinished)
5. Fixing unfinished features like f.e. the enchantments and minecarts
etc.

I was about to post my opinion on the subject and on the subject of this topic until I realized how freakishly old the topic is!
I was then about to leave and let the topic die in peace, but you know what?
For once, I won't!
With that being said, you guys leave me with no choice!
I will have to use two of the oldest memes in the book!
First of all...
Secondly,
This!

How long has it been since I last saw this mod?
I think it was something more than over a year!
Congratulations!
You have achieved necromancy!
At last, I can try this mod now that it's forge compatible!
1
This is pointless!
Mod pack updates(not just Tekkit) take too long!
The real purpose of a mod pack is for people to be able to keep their worlds easier!
Nowadays, compatibility has progressed far!
With Forge and ID Resolver you can have a world far better than what Tekkit can provide!
The downsides is that it obviously takes more time, compatibility becomes a bit harder, and keeping your world becomes extremely hard when newer versions of Minecraft come out!
I have 90+ mods in my 1.3.2 world!(and I might have even more when Minecraft has stabilized its 1.4.* updates until Minecraft 1.5, and mods have updated too)
That includes multiple industrial mods, plants and food, many new ores, weapons and armors, dimensions, dungeons, etc.
And there is still room for way more than that!
If I got this right, Equivalent Exchange and Thaumacraft are going for huge changes!
Users might have to say goodbye at their blocks and items from these two mods at the very least!
Wanna know what's the best mod pack anyone can make without having to worry about permissions and all that stuff?
Make it yourself and test it enough until you are sure it's bug free!
Create a thread where you will provide links to the mod creators' threads, step by step installation instructions including what versions of the mods they need, and a link to your configuration files!(you might even be able to have adf.ly links for your config files but I'm not sure about this)
There, mod pack created successfully!
P.S. And yes, as everyone said, Feed the Beast will probably make Tekkit obsolete!
