Dinnerbone tweeted today that 1.5 would include support for HD textures and animated textures, but not the mod API. Also, 1.5 is targeted for a January release, so it's a ways away still.
I don't expect them to include all the features that MCPatcher or even Optifine include for HD Texture immediately and I honestly think they'll patch it a few times before they get it correct.
Been surprised at the errors they've been making recently with fixes.
here is how i managed to get dynamiclight and btw to work i also have too many items and treecapitator but they are installed the standard mcpatcher method and need no special order.
1. clean MC install
2. download latest mcpatcher
3. download mcpatcher version of dynamiclight from atomicstryker (last mcpatcher version was 1.3 as he is now supporting the FML)
4. download latest modlaoder, btw and any other mods you want
5. open dynamiclight with any compression tool (winzip/7zip/winrar)
6.copy the two items from dynamiclight (a folder named mcpatcher-mods and a settings file) to your .minecraft folder
7. close the zip folder and open mcpatcher; there should be all the usual mcpatcher stuff for a clean MC with the addition of at the bottom dynamic lights and dynamic lights (optifine version), deselect the optifine version and ensure the normal one is selected along with any other options.
8. patch MC and test, you should notice that when holding anything that normally glows when placed i.e. torches, glowstone, redstone torches they too glow whilst in the hand.
9. close MC and open mcpatcher if closed. add modloader and btw
10. ensure btw is directly below modloader in the list to ensure the correct .class files are used.
11. patch MC and test if MC runs with no problems and you're at the title screen then start a world and you should get in the bottom left corner of your screen the version number of the btw mod appear.
12. enjoy and delve the deeps of BTW with mobile lighting.
here is a link to a couple of screen shots of me with a torch in my hand
then it's wrong, no mod works without either forge or modloader.
there are several that work without those, but they all edit the class files directly. Single Player Commands, Optifine, The Mods installed by MCPatcher for example.
Play the game, it will download the files while you do that. I have a very slow connection and it takes something like 5 minutes to get to sounds like walking on grass. I notice sounds sneaking in. For me it's usually the animals noises i notice first.
Of if you have an instance of the same version that has all the sounds, manually copy over the resource folder
What you think about fortified villages (similar to regular MC villages) with villagers. For protection, trade and some company. I worked on them today and yesterday and here is teaser shot. The full version would contain more types of houses. What do you think?
Personally if I found one of those village i'd move in and if i felt kind keep the villagers.. then light it up and fortify it more (iron doors since I always play on hard)

The last version of BTW that supported Minecraft 1.4.2 was 4.34

Where did you get that information? I don't remember anything from Minecon this weekend that mentioned HD texture support.

it will be released when Eloraam is happy to release it, no sooner.

The only problem with AtomicStryker's Dynamic lights is he's stopped supporting MCPatcher, he's now using FML/Forge.
We have no idea how long the MCPatcher file will keep working for, next version of Minecraft could completely break it.

Thank you, looking forward to it.

sorry but I don't trust releases from anyone other than Pahimar

They're compatible with his Modloader, that is enough.

That sounds like your instance hasn't finished downloading all the sounds (resource folder)

It is compatible. The HD Textures and Font are the recommended options to use, but the others do work too, but I heard random mobs can cause problems.
