Good idea! This would be great for suffocation traps too.

This thread is pointless. Mojang has already created a balanced form of freely moving storage in the form of mules and horses.

Also, to the people that say this is the best idea ever:

Read the part about over zealously supporting not so great ideas.

posted a message on Tunneling Moles
    Quote from Mordikins

I love the idea of a tunneling mob, especially if it's tameable. But instead of riding it, I think you should instead be able to make it go in a straight path, so that it can mine tunnels for you even when you're not around.

I hate to rain on your mole parade but the mechanical issues with something that goes in a straight line for any significant distance are numerous. For one thing, what would happen when the mole moved into an unloaded chunk. Also, a 3x3 tunnel is pretty op considering that this would allow you to mine at approximately 9 times the normal rate.

If moles were to be added they should simply be a small chicken sized mob that digs a random 1x1 tunnel. It has its own small inventory (perhaps 9 slots) and the player can collect the materials that are collected in this inventory by two methods. They can kill the mole or they can feed the mole insert item here. If they feed the mole it will drop its inventory and go on its way. The moles path should not fill back in behind it and if the mole fills its inventory it stops for a certain period of time while gradually "digesting" the contents of the inventory.

Note: Using my model, the mole would take every block that it mines through into its inventory.

use F2 and your own texture pack. easy solution

That really doesn't contribute to this discussion which is about adding cameras to vanilla Minecraft.

    Quote from Frog81

He said there was no reason for them to be added because they wouldn't have a use in survival. I was just pointing out that not everything needs to be in/have a use in survival.

My bad. I follow you now. Also, it is a good idea to just have this added as a command block feature instead of a new item.

I don't see a real applied use for command blocks or texture packs in survival but I don't they are bad...

There are no command blocks in survival.

I've thought the same thing but cows and mooshrooms should be completely separate animals. As general guy said, a mooshroom without shrooms should not be a cow.

posted a message on More Ways To Get Music Disks
    Quote from Deonyi

Hey, did you know that music disks are supposed to be a RARE item? No, well you should. This would simply make it far too easy to get music disks.

Besides, you will ALWAYS get a disk if it is killed by a skeleton... Unless they changed that.

They still have a 100% drop rate.

People need to learn that some things are suppose to be challenging in survival mode and music discs aren't hard to get anyway. If you would just invest a little time and brain power into your worlds you wouldn't have to complain about disc rarity on the forums.

Use this lovely resource called the Minecraft wiki:
    http://www.minecraft...ic_Disc_farming

Edit: I forgot to address the skeleton bow thing. If this were to be implemented, every single bow in the game would have to carry an NBT and that would just add unnecessary complication.

posted a message on May be excessive realism, but here's my idea
    Quote from Talons7331

Guys this isn't GregTech. No support. Also, you just learnt that steel is an alloy or iron?

There's the American education system for you. Pyrollamasteak had to search Wikipedia to find out that steel is made from iron. Anyway, even if I refrain from bringing the slippery slope fallacy into this, it still isn't a good suggestion. If you start creating blast furnaces and the like it starts sounding like IC or BC and that's not what vanilla should be like.

Note: I'm going to hug a creeper if I realize I made a grammatical error in my education comment.

Well it's not that bad of an idea but I just don't like it. I prefer to keep my Skyrim separate from my Minecraft. Also, you should be able to use buckets on villagers.

posted a message on How difficult would it be to add a camera to minecraft?
I'm not entirely sure that I like the idea of adding cameras to Minecraft but it is plausible as far as materials go.

You start by making the camera:

    S - Stone
    B - Button
    D - Daylight Sensor
    G - Glass

    S B S
    G D S = 1x Camera
    S S S

    Then you make film:

    1x Paper + 1x Nether quartz (shapeless recipe) = 4x Film

When you right click while holding a camera a piece of film from your inventory is consumed and replaced by a picture of whatever you were looking at. Pictures do not stack because they are unique but unused film does. The picture works like a map while you are holding it except that it is in significantly higher resolution. You may of course place your pictures in item frames and they will display like a map.
