posted a message on [TC4+5 Addon] Automagy - Automation and Logistics (v2.0.3 - Thirsty Tanks for Thaumcraft 5)
    Quote from UnRealBlock»

Hello everyone, it is my first time posting here, but I've been using Automagy for a few months now, and thaumcraft since TC2.

Sadly, I come here with a crash report, and I have absolutely no idea why it happens.

My mods at the moment :

    Forge 10.13.2.1291

    Thaumcraft 4.2.3.5

    Automagy 0.22.2

    Mystcraft 0.11.2.01

    NEI 1.0.3.74

    CodeChickenCore 1.0.4.29

    ChickenChunks 1.3.4.16

    Carpenters blocks 3.3.4.2

    InventoryTweaks 1.58-147

    The
crash happens when I try to right-click an unseen scribe (fully powered
with ordo vis and connected to an inventarium) observing chests around
it. Some precisions : if I don't place one chest in front of the scribe
to set the type of inventory observed, the crash doesn't happen, I just
see blank pages when clicking on the scribe, but when the inventory type
is set, it crashes when I click (same thing when I click on a
requesition tome linked to my inventarium)

    the crash log itself :

Thanks again for your work, it's the most well-made automation mod I know, and it fits perfectly with thaumcraft general theme.

The error looks like it's in the tessellator, which is used to draw 3d objects (vertices). Do you have items in your chest? I bet one of them is causing this problem - try taking them all out and seeing if that crashes, if not, then add them back in one by one until you find the culprit. I'm not positive the problem is actually with this mods code since everything that's throwing an exception is a stock helper class...

Here is an initial draft of the new thaumonomicon window. It fills the entire MC window instead of a small portion and has a scrollable category list for addons on the right. I just added mockup categories for testing so pardon the icons.
I still need to redo the lines connecting research icons and, if possible, add search functionality.
Not pictured: fancy new parallax scrolling background.

I really like this. If I had one thing to suggest, it would be adding some sort of indicator that there is research off the screen that you can scroll to. I find this to be the biggest issue I have with the current version of the Thaumonomicon.
    Also, I have a semi-personal thing to ask -
I am working on a modpack that I affectionately call a "Taintblock". It's like a skyblock map, but as you might imagine, every biome is tainted lands. I've gone and replaced the ores with custom ones that need to be purified at the crucible and added a bunch of skyblock-like crucible recipes and infusions to re-create/transmute resources.
So far everything is really working well, the only issue I am having (and it's a minor one) is that I'd really like to have the ability to control the frequency and rate that things like spore spawners and the such generate as well as how fast fiberous taint spread or trees turn into crusted taint. Right now they are happening a little too fast for my taste considering the map I am going for and it seems like adding a configuration option would be a trivial thing to do? (I hope).
Also, is it possible to get modtweaker support for the infernal furnace? I would love to have the ability to add recipes to it for specific maps...
Anyway, I just wanted to say - Thaumcraft is like the best mod for minecraft ever and I hope some day to be able to buy you a beer or two for all the hours of fun you've given me :D

If you ever finish this, please, send me a pm if possible. This sounds very interesting.

It's pretty much "finished" enough for testing. I'm just screwing around and fixing up strange little bugs - Like right now I just zoned into The End and realized that the Ruins mod was generating structures there. Imagine seeing a wheat field when you pop through the ender portal :D Heh.

I'll drop you a PM or post something on the forums either here or at the FTB forums about it when I'm ready for people to start testing (if they want to).

I really wanna try to figure out some way to get Twilight Forest in here...

The Twilight Forest portal needs five things: flowers/mushrooms/bushes/etc., a diamond, two water source blocks, dirt blocks, and open sky. If you can limit any one of those things, you're in business.

Yeah I thought about that - I already have diamonds gated in my modpack. You see, all ores in my mod generate as "tainted" versions of themselves, and you have to unlock thaumcraft research to gain access to crucible recipes to cleanse them. So as things stands I could just chuck this mod in and there would be some gating already in place, it's just that I'd like for it to happen a lot further down the road than that.

My modpack is something that I call a "taint block" - basically everything is tainted lands, so it revolves around figuring out ways to gather and process resources that don't exist any more. I thought sending people on fetch quests to the Twilight Forest for some of the end game research might be fun... Basically tie progression in that way.

I guess I could always fire up eclipse and write something myself to do this - although boy, it does seem wierd that there's no default way to transport a player to a listed dimension ID. I spent about an hour looking for some sort of mod that would allow you to do this, but no dice. Maybe that's what I should write...

Well, can you make some blocks appear, or disappear, when a quest is completed?

Ok. So you have a portal, pre-made. You surround it with bedrock. On completion of a quest, those bedrock blocks are removed, exposing the portal.

I'm using the Hardcore Questing Mode mod for the quests, so the game mode is survival and not adventure - I don't think this would prevent a player from making their own portal.

I was looking to see if there was a mod that allowed you to make custom blocks that transported people to dimensions, because that might be an alternative solution, but I couldn't find any...

    Quote from TheMapMakerX»

How do I get rid of the item.(Whatever).name?

Also, how can I incorporate this into Minetweaker? I did the /minetweaker hand thing, but it didn't come up with anything.

Go into this directory (or create it)

    config\Quadrum\item\lang

Then create a file called en_US.lang

Inside that file you can assign proper names to items like this:

    item.paperFlower.name=Paper Flower

Also, if you want to use Quadrum items in minetweaker it's easy. The tag is always <Quadrum:YourItemNameHere>

In my example with the paper flower, it would be something like this:

    val flower = <Quadrum:paperFlower>;

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this question - I want to add this mod to my modpack, but I want to restrict access to the dimension until the player has completed a certain amount of quests.

Now, originally I thought I could just change the item ID of the item that needs to be thrown into the pool in order to activate the portal to a custom item that I give the player, but it appears that there is no configuration option for this.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could restrict the creation of portals until the player has a specific item I give them?

     [20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: java.lang.NoSuchFieldException: c<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredField(Unknown Source)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at witchinggadgets.asm.WGCoreTransformer.living_onPotionApplied(WGCoreTransformer.java:325)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLivingBase.func_70670_a(EntityLivingBase.java:690)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLivingBase.func_70690_d(EntityLivingBase.java:642)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at thaumcraft.common.blocks.BlockFluxGoo.func_149670_a(BlockFluxGoo.java:81)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.Entity.func_145775_I(Entity.java:870)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.Entity.func_70091_d(Entity.java:803)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at thaumcraft.common.entities.monster.EntityTaintSpore.func_70091_d(EntityTaintSpore.java:118)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLivingBase.func_70612_e(EntityLivingBase.java:1490)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLivingBase.func_70636_d(EntityLivingBase.java:1814)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLiving.func_70636_d(EntityLiving.java:367)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.monster.EntityMob.func_70636_d(SourceFile:25)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLivingBase.func_70071_h_(EntityLivingBase.java:1611)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.EntityLiving.func_70071_h_(EntityLiving.java:206)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.entity.monster.EntityMob.func_70071_h_(SourceFile:30)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at thaumcraft.common.entities.monster.EntityTaintSpore.func_70071_h_(EntityTaintSpore.java:156)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.world.World.func_72866_a(World.java:2070)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.world.WorldServer.func_72866_a(WorldServer.java:648)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.world.World.func_72870_g(World.java:2034)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.world.World.func_72939_s(World.java:1887)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.world.WorldServer.func_72939_s(WorldServer.java:489)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71190_q(MinecraftServer.java:636)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71217_p(MinecraftServer.java:547)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.server.integrated.IntegratedServer.func_71217_p(IntegratedServer.java:111)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:427)<br>[20:44:08] [Server thread/INFO] [STDERR]: [java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream:println:-1]: at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer$2.run(MinecraftServer.java:685)<br>

This could completely be my imagination, but it seems that when it crops up all of a sudden mobs stop spawning in the immediate area, although that might be due to hitting a spawn limit hard cap with taint spores and the such. :D

could I also just give it an id like 10000 or something?

No. I believe the enchantments are stored in a list that has 256 members, so the id's probably range from 0 to 255. This seems like something that minetweaker ought to be able to report, but I just looked in game and didn't see a report enchants command. Just pick one at random and keep trying until you get it right. You can at least see on the wiki the ones that minecraft uses by default.

    Hello,

There are a few guidelines in the first post. Please check the spoiler tab under "Permissions" :)

Haha, great, I can't believe I missed that. I blame the epic length of the first post for confusing my feeble brain o.O

Before I go nuts configuring this mod to work with my modpack, does the author have a problem with his mod being included in public packs? I'm planning on submitting this eventually to the FTB launcher. :D

how can I fix this? is it as simple as changing the ID in the config or do I have to do more

Yes, it's that simple. Go into the config file, find the enchanting with the offending ID and give it another number. You may have to do the process a few times if you have a lot of mods installed with enchantments as you'll need to find an ID that is free.

Hi there, first of all I want to say - great mod, I really like it and I'm planning on putting it in a modpack I'm working on and hopefully will release through the FTB launcher. In particular I love the abacus, the pump and the aspect library - such simple ideas but no one's ever done them before!

Anyway, I have a few suggestions that I'd like to make and I hope that you'll be receptive to them:

    - I think the Metallurgic Perfection researches should be hidden in the Thaumonomicon if the server doesn't have any additional ores installed. That's my current case and I have basically two blank researches (I've removed them with Modtweaker myself).

    - Likewise a configuration (or automatic detection) to turn off the Enderlinked bag if the server doesn't have the vanilla enderchest active. I'm using Chickenbone's EnderStorage, so I've had to once again hide that research with modtweaker.

    - I really like the blast furnace, ore tripling is pretty insanely over powered however don't you think? Some configuration options here might be nice - like maybe an option to make it require centevis in order to triple ore?

    - Also, could you add recipes for breaking down metal items back into ingots through the blast furnace? Probably adding just the vanilla armors/weapons and some basic blocks would be enough, with a configuration option to add more simple recipes. Basically have it work like the TC's smeltery in that regard. I'd do it myself, but it doesn't look like your furnace recipes support a function call on output in modtweaker (plus not everyone is going to have an easy time scripting modtweaker I guess...) and i don't want to give back the full cost of ingots for damaged items...

    - I think the rose thorn bushes are an interesting idea but they don't actually seem to work. I've noticed that they only ever spread in one direction (up walls), won't spread down or on overhangs and while you can stack them ontop of each other, they become invisible if you do so. I think it would be nice if they were made to function more like bushes - basically plant them and they grow into a 2 block tall bush that acts like a cactus, but can be adjacent to each other to form walls. If you want to get really fancy, you could use the wand to orientate which direction they will grow, or if they will stop growing/spreading at all (kind of like how you can make redcrystal connections with the wand).

    - It would be nice if we could get a range upgrade on the terrestrial reformer somehow. The 16 block radius is actually pretty small.

    - Please add a cloak that turns you into a bat and lets you fly :) Just an idea!

Anyway, like I said - great mod, take the feedback as you will :D

EDIT: Also, I forgot to add - the primordal claymore can't break cobwebs... or torches. Ahem.Intended? Sort of weird...

Hello, I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me - Is it permissible to put this mod in a mod pack for release through a launcher like FTB? I really like it and would love to add it to the pack I am working on.

    Cheers

EDIT: Sorry for the double post - curse went down while I was posting.
