If you can shove an extra $100, then I would do this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6HPI

If you don't already have an OS, you can "obtain" one.

i7 is amost useless to most people, i5 is plenty. And why would you get only 1gb of ram? and 4 is the most needed now, unless you super multi task, and then 8gb is plenty. And the 460 is old and pretty terrible now. And newegg often doesn't have the best prices, amazon usually does.

    Please know before you post.

Don't use newegg unless they have a sale. I got about $150 off my $1200 build.

EDIT: If you can get your price up to $700, this would be a very good choice, as it can be upgraded very easily later on: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6HPI

    Quote from MineMan_620

Overclocking is when you increase performance on computer hardware. You could overclock that 2.3 Ghz CPU to 3 Ghz. If you do plan to overclock, it's recommended that you get an aftermarket cooler.
Overclocking is not recommended, unless you're really desperate.

Actually, I would recommend overclocking. But only if you have the proper equipment and knowledge to do it properly.

Don't use pirate copies of Photoshop. Legitimate versions crash a heck of a lot less.

    **EDIT**

Yes, this is an assumption. It's a justified assumption because I've used pirate copies of PS and I know how often it crashes when it's been poorly cracked.

Times have improved. I pirate everything after I buy it, so I can avoid drm. *shifty eyes*

could have gotten a liquid loop if he would have gotten normal windows home premium

I've been sticking to air lately. And since a closed loop system is about as good as air cooling (Look at the noctua or the phanteks ones), I'm for custom liquid cooling. Liquid causes problems for me with lan party transport though, and I move my computer a lot, and I don't want to drain it every time.

    EDIT: Specs:
    Cpu: i7 2600k @ 4.8 ghz (Got a new cooler, wooo!)
    Cooler: Thermalright Silver Arrow
GFX: Sapphire radeon 6850 overclocked to the max (I forget how much atm, and I'm on my laptop right now.)
    Mobo: Asus p8p67
Disk drive: Some $20 asus one off newegg. Works great.
HDD: 250gb HD from my old PC, 750gb WD 7200rpm
Case: HAF 912 with a few mods and fans

Note that I don't do much gaming on this computer. Mostly 3d modeling, rendering, and coding.

    Download limits.

I could only download at certain times and on a lot of nights my download speed was between 6 and 25KB/s. On a couple nights it was 300-400KB/s so I could get 5 or so GB downloaded in one sitting.

    ...

Now Steams giving me that god forsaken "game is currently unavailable" message.

Which is the biggest crock of **** I've ever seen.

I hate that message. Also, what ISP/Country do you have?

posted a message on Lucid Dreams
I've decided to start a thread on what is by far my most favorite activity. Lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming is when you have a dream where you can control what happens. Since it is a dream, you can do about anything you want. Basically anything you can imagine, you can do in a lucid dreaming. With practice, it can feel just like a real life experience.

There are 2 main techniques for lucid dreaming. MILD and WILD. My personal favorite is MILD as it is less likely to cause sleep paralysis, which can be a terrifying experience.

Note that it does take practice to have a lucid dream, but it is well worth it. I'm going to list some personal tips now.

    My favorite reality checks:

Do reality checks often throughout your normal day. Try doing it sometime like every time you go through a doorway.

    Finger bend:
Tense your thumb so it bends back. If your able to bend it far more than normally possible without pain, it's a dream.

    Finger count:
Count your fingers on one hand. Look for 6 fingers. If you count six, it's a dream.

    Practice dreams:

    Walk through the park:
Imagine you're standing on a little concrete path. There's an oak tree overhead. Now add in more trees. A lamp post. A wooden bench. Now you can hear the slight rustle of the golden brown leaves on the breeze. The creak of the branches. The hum of the birds. You stick out your hand and do a slow spin. You can feel the breeze running through your fingers. The rustle of your hair. Maybe some buildings in the background. Leaves on the ground, the flat grey clouds looming overhead. The smell of fall. Now take a stroll through your park. Sit on the bench, and just take in the experience. Take off your sweatshirt, and feel the mild chill running in the autumn wind.

This dream is good practice for creating a realistic world. Try to avoid people until you get better however.

    Tips:

Things will only happen if you're sure they will happen. If you aren't sure you have wings, you don't have wings.

If you feel like the dream is slipping away, do a slow spin and take in the surroundings. The dream should return, crisp and clear.

    Well, I did just buy a 25 dollar T shirt I didn't really need.

Ahhhhhhh... VCP. I've been thinking about buying that for a while now. Is it worth it, and do you get new valve games when they come out?

Probably mine. I'm just too lazy to make a new one.
    Quote from Right2Live

Welp, this post just took the cake.

The majority of the time, MLP avatars are pictures taken directly from the show. The generic nature of these (along with the fact that there are so many people using them), makes it very difficult to distinguish members. Your only chance of even distinguishing people via-avatar is to memorize the pose that the pony is in.

Also: NOBODY BUT YOU AND A SELECT FEW CLOPPING BRONIES THAT "DO IT FOR THE ART" WANTS TO SEE A GODDAMN PONY/FURRY PORNO EVERY TIME YOU POST. IT'S NOT PLEASANT, AND I'M GETTING TIRED OF WEBSITES BEING RUINED BECAUSE I HAVE TO STARE AT FURRY PORN BECAUSE YOU USE THOSE SHITTY AVATARS AS SOME SORT OF "PRIDE FLAG."

Normal bronies that don't wave around their fandom like they're some sort of oppressed minority are okay though. :)

The binding of isaac. What a fabulously hard game. My new thing on the forum now is that I'm going to use the word fabulous as much as possible. Also, you should sit down and watch some of that christian television programming.
