Fact is, every abandoned mineshaft network ahs one such an room. If you havent found it yet then you havent explored enough.
Alot of people say creepers are evil beings that are the main baddies of minecraft. I say that creepers are natural creatures, no more than animals trying to survive in a world using its own technique of living. (Which is blowing up to murder everything)
What is your opinion on creepers?

I am right there, and I go through it with no problem, then it pushes me back to when I first pressed the button. This may sound confusing, but simply, when I push the button, I go through, and I end up where I was pressing the button. Help?
An Buttons Nature in MC is to be active for a second at best so yes it keeps once pressed the door open for a second only.
And if your machine lag for whtaever reason then a second might not be enough to pass through.
In this case you can either try to stop waht's causing the lag or use levers on both sides.

I have no idea if the game engine would allow an natural object that can raise its own lava level from time to time to accomplsh it
but it would be a very nice distraction for once.
If you open the file Crash Reports after a crash you'll find a readable file created there which describes why MC has crashed.
Can be useful to find the problems source sometimes.
Even with only 1 lava source it doesnt do that anymore once it has spread out a good piece.

I often have to plug the remaining lava with dirt even after closing the soruce block off.
Lava has an way slower reaction time than water, both in moving and disappearing.
That is currently normal unfortunately. Sometimes it takes a load of time to disappear even if its cut off of the lava source block.

If something is for free then it usually has an hook somewhere, either visible or invisible.
