posted a message on /summon EnderDragon not working after 1.9!

In 1.9.2 if you want a new normal EnderDragon the only method seams to be putting Ender Crytals on the End Portal. That re-sets the ender crytals on the towers of Obsidian and turns off the portal as well as spawning an EnderDragon. If you find yourself stuck at The End that's no use unless you have either ender crytal ingredients for enough crystals or access to creative.

I've been trying to use Dragon Phase. Works fine in 1.7.10 but has no effect in 1.9.2. You just get a floating invicible EnderDragon anyway in 1.9.2. (Just managed to get the flying one with no health bar on the unpteenth attempt in The End). Still can't get a normal one in 1.9.2.

In 1.9.2 the Dragon Phase stuff doesn't seem to work. I could summon a normal EnderDragon using it in 1.7.10 but even in the End you just get the stationary, invincible version in 1.9.2

posted a message on Crash at launch using Jar mods
    Quote from Alix_The_Alicorn

No jar mods! They are obsolete, and should never be used. Tell your mod author to stop this madness! If you install forge from files.minecraftforge.net (get the latest installer for your minecraft version) Optifine can be put into the mods folder now.

I wish optifine could be put in the mods folder but it causes Minecraft to crash and the only version of Optifine for 1.6.4 I can find is a jar file anyway. The version I have for forge is the one or 1.6.4 at the web address you included in your post.

I need help with Optifine for 1.6.4 but can't find anywhere to put the request for help. How do you install Optifine into 1.6.4 Minecraft with Forge installed? Putting optifine in the mods folder causes the game to crash even with meta inf deleted.

posted a message on Detailed Tutorial: How to install OptiFine with Forge.
    Quote from Miu_Amaha

And Yes. I do realize there is a thread like this. But I made this for PlanetMinecraft and they marked it as spam.
I have seen MANY complaints about how Forge and OptiFine won't work together.
I am here to fix that and make it easier for you to do.

    Step 1: Beginning
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make sure to backup any saves or texture packs before doing this.
Delete your .minecraft from your %appdata% folder.
You can access this folder by holding down the Windows key and R.
Now open up your Minecraft launcher.
Sign in and let the launcher download the necessary files.
Once all of the files have been downloaded you need to hit "Play" at least once.

Step 2: Installing the appropriate Forge update.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you have successfully installed Minecraft.
Now you must go to the Forge website.
    Link: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
Now you need to download the exact version of Forge.
    Version: 9.10.0.789
Once you have located the Forge version click on "Installer."
Once you have downloaded the installer for Forge you need to right click it.
    Hover over "Open With."
    And hit "Java"
This will bring up the Forge installation tool.
"Client" should already be ticked so all you need to do is hit "Ok" at the bottom of the tool.
A message will appear letting you know that it worked.

    Part 3: OptiFine
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that you have successfully installed Forge you must install OptiFine.
This is where it gets tricky... But the tricky part won't happen until a bit later.
First you will have to go to the OptiFine website and download OptiFine.
You can download ANY version of OptiFine.
    Website: http://optifine.net/downloads.php
Once you have OptiFine downloaded you need to go to this directory.
    C:\Users\"NAME"\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.789
You will see a .rar folder.
Open it using Winrar or 7-Zip.
Delete the "Meta-INF" folder inside of it.
Now open up your OptiFine .rar file you just downloaded and drag the contents into the Forge .rar file you opened.
Once you finished that you can close out all windows and head to the last step.

Step 4: Editing the Forge profile
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now open up your Minecraft Launcher and go to the Profiles.
You will notice there is a new profile called "Forge."
    Click it...
You will be asked to sign in again. Do it.
Once Signed in you need to edit the Forge profile by clicking "Edit Profile" at the bottom of the launcher.
Now you should see a new menu.
You may edit the profile's name to what ever you chose. ( Optional )
Now at the bottom of the new menu there should be an un-ticked box called...
    "JVM ARGUMENTS."
    Tick it.
Next to that there should be a little line of text.
    It should say this: -Xmx1G
Click anywhere when that line of text is and hit CTRL+A.
    This should have highlighted -Xmx1G.
Then copy this line of text...
    -Xmx1G -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
Then go back to where -Xmx1G was and hit CTRL+V.
This should have replaced the old text with then new text.
    Save the profile.
Make sure to have your new profile clicked because sometimes doing this step will make you switch back to your default profile. ( Normally named your username )
Once you have finished that you can hit play with the new profile.
It will download a couple files but should load up.
Now you have OptiFine and Forge together.
The "Mods" folder will be in you %appdata% folder and you can now install other mods that require forge.

    Video Tutorial
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got it working with one version of Optifine & now they have brought an up date out and it appears to be impossible to update optifine installed this way.

Apparently. Everything went down: Teamspeak, website and server. My son, who was a mod till it shut down, had to find out what was going on using Skype and he was told it was permanently shut down.

Preview OptiFine C1 Ultra for Minecraft 1.6.2 is out.

    What is new:
    - loadable by Forge, just drop it in the "mods" folder and Forge should load it as a normal Forge mod. If not working please post the error log.
    - needs at least Forge #830 for the automatic loading to work.
    - compatible with Forge #845

Please test and report back B) .

Didn't work for me & attempting a normal update of Optifine caused my Minecraft to crash. I can't give a crash report because it also made it grind to a halt. The crash report is visible only for a moment during logging off- the only way to get to do anything with the file as it is left stuck trying to load constantly. I do have Smart Moving, Zan's Minimap and Too Many Items as well as forge though.

I tried to logging on to the server and it was offline checked the website and it also was 404/offline, then tried the Teamspeak and it also was offline.. anyone else having this issue or is the server shut down for good.

My oldest son (Minecraft username: Creeperguy639) was one of the moderators until it shut down suddenly today. Apparently until then they had enough money to keep going & then suddenly they didn't (as if money had vanished from the server's accounts). Its shut down permanently. Minecraft has lost what was a superb server- good grief protection, friendly mods, a modreq system for reporting any grief, etc.

    Quote from mrkai12

mod looks cool, wish it were updated though

You can use the Hack/Mine modpack using the technic launcher. It doesn't need to be updated to Minecraft 1.3 to run it that way. I downloaded the Technic launcher originally to play Tekkit but I have been playing single player Hack/Slash mine more than Tekkit having tried it out just because it was an option on the launcher I had no idea what it was.

um i have one qustion do i need to install modloader? oh and mlg rpg mod love it even know i did not play it yet...

Hack/Mine is one of the modpacks you can choose to use through the Technic launcher. It doesn't affect you main minecraft files as it has its own copy of minecraft in the technic launcher's app data folder instead of the .minecraft one. Everything you need to play it is downloaded automatically when you choose Hack/Mine and then click log on.
    Quote from Frizzil

Hey there, this is the guy who made Hack/Mine.

I don't mind people adf.lying to my forum posts. I don't see the harm in giving people incentive to do so. However, it is NOT acceptable to link directly to a Hack/Mine download using adf.ly, and violates my copyright. Don't do that. Someone will catch you, and you'll never hear the end of it.

As for linking directly to the download without adf.ly, I don't believe this violates copyright, but I would appreciate it if people didn't do this. I'd rather people 1) see the forum post so I have a centralized hub for the mod, and so they don't ask stupid questions and get frustrated, and 2) pass through my adf.ly links so I can generate a little income for server hosting and such.

In saying that, I have personally posted links to the downloads without an adf.ly redirect, but only because it was required (particularly on the Yogscast forums.) If you want to share the mod with readers/followers/subscribers/friends, please send them to the official forum posts on either the minecraft forums or Yogscast forums, don't just link them the download-- this way they'll know how to install it and not want to slit their wrists after they inevitably fail at it. Also, they'll see lots of important information regarding bugs, plans, how to play.

    Thanks!

PS: this is not to imply that linking with adf.ly to a Minecraft mod is ever a good idea to begin with-- people WILL report it, bothering both the modder and the poster, whether or not it is "technically acceptable." Just a fair warning.

I hate it when you have to go via adfly especially as I accidently downloadd something I didn't want (which turned out to be a virus) when I clicked on what looked like where you needed to click to download what I wanted.
    Quote from BigBlueBox

Now i just need a link from where to download it!?!?!?
    :SSSS:

Search for the Technic Launcher. Hack/Slash mine is one of the modpacks you can choose to play on the Technic Launcher.

posted a message on 1.3 LAN problems
My son and I are trying to play Minecraft using the new turning single player worlds in to LAN worlds option. He's managed to get into mine once but mostly it can't connect and I cannot connect to his at all. All the instructions I can find say were are doing the right thing and it the worlds come up in the section LAN worlds get listed in the servers list. But we have only managed to connect at all once. We are both using the same modem/router and we have tried both wired and wireless connection to the router and this makes no difference. Any one any ideas what we are doing wrong?

Kinect can be used for XBox Live chat. Can it also be used for voice chat in Minecraft on the XBox? I'm not sure if it uses XBox Live chat or its own chat system and Kinect isn't compatible with Minecraft.
