Did you check if your internal IP changed?
Check the page where you port forward and see if your IPv4 address matches the one there.
For some people, it may randomly change sometimes.
You can install the mods you listed on a bukkit server.
Just go to http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5
and there you it has some mods ported to be compatible for a bukkit server.
Most of them just require putting them into a folder called mods.
You should also to download craftbukkit.jar from there because it already includes forge which is what you need to enable most mods.
No, not all SSP mods are compatible with SMP. You have to check if it is compatible first, and most likely you will have to install forge or modloaderMP for the client and server. After you do, most other mods you download will just require being dragged into mods folder for the client and/or server. There are now fewer mods that require being extracted into the minecraft.jar than in the past.
You must have put in the wrong text to start up your server. Make sure your text matches what version of java.
If you have java 6, edit the .bat file and put this:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar
PAUSE
If you have java 7, put this instead:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar
PAUSE
Did you check if your internal IP has changed or did you not port forward correctly?
If so, go to your command prompt, type ipconfig, then look at default gateway.
Copy that into your browser and go to your port forwarding page.
Next go back to your command prompt and look at your IPv4 Address, remember it.
Create a new port with 25565 TCP/UDP and make sure it has the same IP address as your IPv4 address.
If you already had also this correct, maybe your external IP has changed.
Just google, "what is my ip" and you should find it there.
Your external IP is the IP for your friend to join.
It's exactly like making a regular server that's using a .jar. Just download the server snapshot and save it in a folder.
Next make a new notepad (or what ever program you use to open text documents) in that same folder with:
-Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
Click save as and save it as Start.bat
Just click start and it should start.
In SMP, I can't tame anything like a turtle, or I am but I can't name it and it won't follow me. I can tame things just fine in SSP though.
Also, other creatures like bunnies don't go on top of the head, they just follow me by pushing me around.
Did I install something wrong for the server?
I do have some other mods on the server if they're conflicting with anything (IC2, Buildcraft, EE2, Forestry, Railcraft, and Redpower).
I'm having the same problem of disconnecting when trying to grab a Pfaeffs mod item from crafting. When I get disconnected it says "Connection Lost: End of Stream"
Open the texture pack if it's crashing minecraft and delete pack and pack.txt with winrar, or something else like it, and the texture pack should work after that.
