    I don't read the version history on the wiki anymore, half of the stuff listed as confirmed / speculative is false anyway.

    I particularly like "Game may crash by doing anything except moving or opening your inventory." and "Creepers can make noises of other mobs."

    But no mention of spiders being able to see through solid blocks since the Halloween update.

    I noticed that when I harvested my farms this morning. Cacti, reeds, saplings, wheat and seeds were arriving at the collection points much faster.

    I kind of like it, especially in my wheat farm.

    One thing you need to keep in mind with the recent changes in mob spawning is slimes. As you light the caves around your spawning radius, it actually increases the probability for slimes to spawn in the diamond layer.

    I have recently been using water and redstone dust to line the floor of my lowest caverns to prevent slime spawning beneath my traps.

    I think you're right on the money. Directly behind that mountain in my first pic is what used to be a sprawling desert( a la chunk error'd borders generated after the first biomes were introduced) which gets half snow / half rain.

    I pretty much did the same thing, found a pig on top of a cliff, saddled up, and used a bucket of water to wash us over the edge.

    Just stopping in to let you know that I still plan on working on the forest / tree schematics. I had to zip out of town and just got back this evening.

    I have ideas for making corner, edge and center pieces for dark forest, mixed forest, low forest and natural forests for the 3 specific tree types.

    I started making schematics for individual trees ..Pine, Snow-Covered Pine etc... and started on some 40x40 dark forest tile sets with mega-trees before I left, so hopefully I should have something posted in the next day or two.

    This is what happens when I plant the new saplings in an early, early Alpha generated world.

    Switched to fast graphics so you can see it better. All 3 leaf types on one tree. Weird....

    Powered Rails in there current design are decent at best. The only people I see touting their merits are people with track systems on FLAT ground.

    I have a massive drift mine at bedrock that spans thousands of blocks in more than just the 4 cardinal directions. Set at intervals along these drifts are junctions that lead back to my main base which resides at level 77. With the current glitch boosters, I can reach my main base from any of these junctions, and conversely, I can send and receive storage carts from any of those junctions to storage substations.

    Unless the cost of crafting powered rails is changed or decreased, I can see no reason why I would ever use them in their current state. I would basically need ~40 +/- powered rails for one line to reach the surface. Multiply this by 14 and add the cost of crafting powered rails for stations, storage substations, boosting flat sections etc... And that doesn't even take into consideration the unmanned carts, which would double or triple the cost since the boost provided to them is even less.

    Show me anyone that has an automated unmanned cart storage and delivery system (on anything other than flat ground) that has adopted and endorsed the powered rails, and I'll show you someone that uses inventory hacks.



    tl:dr Powered Rails and Detectors "work" at the moment but need some revision and additions before they will become decent.

    Widened the MP spawn area by two blocks, this should contain all of the respawns and prevent popping up on top of the cube outside of the spawn enclosure.

    Added a MP version with a spawning area and a drop to the starting area. I've never tried making anything specifically for MP so if anything out of the ordinary crops up, feel free to let me know so I can fix it.

    Spawning on SMP, will make you spawn on the roof of the big block, so there is no way in :sad.gif:
    If people are worried about others climbing to the top, I don't think this is an issue because even the island maps were not infinite water :smile.gif:

    I didn't know that MP maps would spawn you on top of the cube. I'll see if I can get something working to fix that.
