Not to be confused with:
- regular input lag
- lag of other kinds (framerate, server connection)
- lag spikes of other kinds
I have this very rare problem that I've never heard of before and can't find anything about on google either, cause if I google 'input lag spikes' all the results are about regular lag spikes. This problem happens both in single- and multiplayer and happens rarely, but if it does it lasts a long time. Usually it's normal again the next (real life, not Minecraft) day.
My internet connection is normal and my framerate is normal (I just checked in singleplayer and it's between 70-90), and I don't have regular input lag. The input lag happens in 'spikes' like it does for other types of lag. You know when you get a server lag spike and after it's over it's like every entity that was moving (players, mobs, minecarts in motion etc.) has teleported? How my input lag spikes work is that one moment I'm normally playing, and then I'm 'stuck' for a while. My character keeps moving in the direction I was moving in, even if I take my hands off my keyboard & mouse or if I try to turn around, jump, sneak or do anything else. It can take less than a second, or like 5 seconds, and then my character finally recognizes all the input I typed in while stuck, and I'll turn around, jump and sneak etc.
In the periods between these input lag spikes, I don't have a input delay of any kind, I never have regular input lag. These spikes are irregular but happen in quick succession with random durations and at random times. Also, during input lag spikes my server connection and framerate remain normal.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
