4.) A fembot (think: HRP-4C, Asimo, Cleverbot, RealDoll, Vocaloid, all mixed together).

Is this for the reasons I'm thinking? Or do you have a mature reason?

    5.) Immortality through medical technology.

You should really think about this one. Is this world really worth living forever in?

6.) A 3D printer that can print furniture, electronics, clothing, and even food, so that all my needs would be met so that I wouldn't have to work for a living (or at least can live comfortably on a part-time job)

Actually, this is already real, but limited.

7.) A machine that can record my dreams in High Def detail (I'd become an instant rock star, film producer, writer, etc [and so would most of YOU]).

Not all of us have those types of dreams. :P I wish we could record our dreams. I've had so many strange dreams that I ended up forgetting about but didn't want to.

8.) A new law that says if you receive spam email or any other unsolicited advertising, you can sue that merchant to make them give you that advertised item for free.

You do know half of those spam emails are actually scams, and that there's no actual item involved, right? :P

My grandmother died just so recently, I don't need anyone to say that I haven't been through depression. I've also had a great grandmother that I was very attached to die several years back, age 102.

Then you should know that what you said is wrong in every single aspect. The death of a loved one causes pain and heartache. Your statement basically says "it's your own fault for mourning the person that died". If that's not what you were meaning, I strongly suggest that next time you carefully word your post.

    Quote from Da_Docta

What I've noticed, in the suggestion section,

Someone with 1000+ posts will make a suggestion, and everyone will blindly follow, and ignore all the flaws.

Someone with under 500 posts will make a suggestion (a good one) and every small little detail will get harshly criticized.

Am I the only one who notices this?P.S: I'm not talking about myself.

Post count does have a bit of influence, unfortunately.. However, most of the suggestions people make have been suggested & rejected before, just aren't good ideas, or weren't presented properly. If a suggestion is good, and is deemed something that could benefit the community, it'll always be considered, regardless of your post count.

When you guys look at applications can you see how many hours a member has been on? I am on the forums almost everyday but I don't always post something.

Just to add, there are several moderators who don't post much at all, so that's not a huge factor. The only time I think it'll come into play if someone applied and they only post once or twice a week, or barely at all.

    1) Ignore him. I'd only respond if the stranger was having a medical emergency.

    2) Tell them no and to do their own work. You eventually learn the brat is only using you for answers, and they don't care about you.

    3) See if they're okay. I may not be the friendliest toward strangers, but I still do care about people in distress.

    4) Open the blinds/look through the peephole/etc. I'm not too trusting of anyone who comes to my door unless I've ordered food and I'm expecting it. There's someone in my neighborhood who is extremely creepy and looks through people's garbage cans, then goes to their door and begs for a soda. Needless to say, I'm not fond of this individual in the slightest. (he does have some sort of mental handicap.)

    5) I routinely order food from Jimmy John's, which is like Subway. So if there's nothing in the house, I'll order that or pizza.

    6) I chose check your car simply because we have to choose something, however, you excluded one very big and important option: check on the other driver's well being! Even if it's the other person's fault, make sure they're okay first and foremost. I would always check on their well being.

    7) Ask them why they did it. If they don't answer, I'm going to get in their face. I don't take that kind kind of crap from people.

    8) Where is the "I don't play this game" option?

    9) Ask them to hurry up. It's fast food, not an expensive restaurant where you're expected to wait for the food.

posted a message on What games have made you rage and/or rage quit?
    Quote from _LoneWolfe_

Yeah, it's unfortunate, but that's just how people play the game... I actually still do play CoD and such every now and then, mostly for Search and Destroy, and because when you're a ninja like I am, you at least stand half a chance against the enemy. Plus stealth is just really fun anyway. So it is rage inducing to play, but it seems like Search and Destroy with friends at least makes it more bearable at times.

The only time I ever play Cod is if I'm in a quick scoping/make other people rage mood. It brings me so much joy when people send me rage messages claiming quick scoping is noob-ish and cheap.

Funny that you mention this, noticed something like this on a server I like to play on.
It's true that they show "dedication", and will definitely not buy premium just to troll, but, if you simply want to help people on the forums, and you like to spend your time doing whatever someone ask of you, why should you have to pay? And, if someone is interested in becoming a mod, gets denied, they bought premium for what exactly?
A sign of good will? No, that'd be ridiculous...

Agreed completely. Not everyone even wants Curse Premium. Even if I have the extra money to spend, Curse Premium isn't appealing to me. No one should ever have to pay to get a volunteer job that provides no real benefits other than self-gratification for helping the community.

    Quote from _LoneWolfe_

Well, it isn't intense rage, but GTA V, CoD sometimes, and BF sometimes as well. GTA V is mostly getting attacked by random people in tanks or whatever for no apparent reason, although it's fun at first to fight them all off, it kinda sucks when my $10,000 blows up, and they don't pay for it, leaving me bankrupt in the end. As for CoD / Battlefield, it's mostly the people that refuse to actually get in a gunfight with me, it's always just some camper 500 feet across the map, or sitting in a corner aiming at a doorway prone, or some guy quick scoping and complaining about me "hard scoping" (seriously though, it's how the sniper rifle is meant to be used, the scope isn't there just so you can ignore it and use it in close quarters). But usually they also seem to be 100 ranks above me, so they have the best gear and well-upgraded weapons to use, while I'm nowhere near having what they have.

I can agree. I played COD long before BattleField, and it made me rage so hard due to how people played. Camping in the corner, trick shot losers, no scoping "pros", etc. BattleField makes me rage as well for the same reason, how people play. Campers, boosters, claymore campers, C4 spammers, etc. The list goes on and on. I especially hate the glitchers in BF4. GTA Online doesn't make me rage, but it does anger me, which is why I play in friend only sessions now. So many tank griefers, sticky bomb griefers, etc.

I agree with the fact that it would most likely save time whilst checking applications, but, it does pose a problem. Applications are based on quality not quantity, a person who does not posts that regularly but has helpful and informative posts, would have a very small chance of being found by a staff member. Also, this would create even more work for staff, because when they are moderating their specific section, they would have to constantly look at peoples' posts and perhaps look up more posts of this person, just to find out they are not interested (a process which could take days, or weeks per person). Lastly, people can apply for multiple sections, if a person (according to the staff) is more suited for a different sections, they would never be taken into consideration. As a conclusion, it would alleviate some of the work put into each batch, but trading it for a system which would most likely create more work and result in less people being hired/discovered, I am not sure if it would work. The MCF has a lot of people, try finding people who could be considered good moderators and willing to actually moderate.

    Quote from StealthBravo
We've had people be accepted with way less than 100 posts. With the post counts that some of these people had, what are our chances of noticing them? Why exclude them from a chance at becoming a moderator because of low post count? We can't judge people solely based off activity. Otherwise, we'd never have (had) some of our current and past moderators. Sure, we could ditch applications and just go off "I noticed you and I like what I see", but that leaves those that aren't as noticeable but would still make great moderator candidates out.

I said active posters, not high post count. :P I just think it's a huge burden on the staff that they have (technically, no, they don't have to) to look through all these applications, most of which are by idiots who didn't read the thread. I'm willing to bet most applications are denied simply because people didn't read the thread, the rules, or something else of importance.

I realize patience is key, but someone who applied in October or November that is still waiting could easily decide "this isn't worth it" because it takes forever, and that person could have been an amazing addition to the staff. While several applicants are being denied, that one amazing fit for the staff is waiting, and waiting, and waiting. In reality, the wait time is atrocious.

I'm not trying to sound rude, impatient, or anything else, but it just seems crazy that people are waiting two-three months even for their batch to show up, mainly because of people who submit an application when they really shouldn't.

    Active userbase > staff members

    I think that says enough...

Not necessarily. If the forum admins and sectional mods started just watching for active and helpful people, it'd be a bit easier to choose a sectional moderator. The majority of people who apply either haven't read the rules, haven't read OP in this thread, or they're just not qualified. At least if it was on a "staff approach" basis there wouldn't be hundreds or thousands of applications to go through, nor would the staff be backlogged by months. On top of that, you wouldn't have users begging and being impatient for something they can't apply for.

I think it would overall be a better system if the staff just kept their eye out for helpful, active, and good posters, and then brought it up with their FA. Moderators would only be added on a as-needed basis.

I personally think you should. It would make things so much easier on you and the rest of the staff.
