posted a message on Bored on a PvP Server; What to do?!
So, your basically just having trouble getting started then? I'm just going to write a basic guide of how I progress in a pvp server from scratch for you. Some of this stuff might be a little basic, so sorry if I insult your intelligence with obvious ideas.

First things first, you obviouslt want to GTFO of spawn right away, and get far away. Generally, if you're creating anything more than a temporary pit stop to grab some equipment, you'll want to be no less than ~2000 blocks from spawn. From there, hide your base entrance and dig down far enough that your nametag won't be visible. From there, get some basic facilities up and runnig: storage rooms, a tree/ wheat farm and most importantly, a mine. Don't even think about raiding anything bigger than an open chest until you've got everyone equipped with at least a full iron armor, bows and a diamond sword. Diamond armor and potions certainly help, but they aren't necessary unless you're fighting an enemy that has them.

Once your at this stage , you basically just want to go around and gank people around the spawn or anywhere you see; those around spawn tend to be either respawning or other assailants, while everywhere else you can find pretty much every kind of player. Surprise is vital for these unless you've got a huge equipment advantage; a free hit from a sword is usually enough to win you the fight if you can keep the pressure on.

Eventually however, you'll want to raid other bases; you can find these pretty much either through luck or stalking respawning players who you know have a base. Once you've found the base, then regroup with your friends and assault it. Every base is different, so I can't give too many tips there, but it's generally a good idea to not take the front door. Take the base, raid it of materials, destroy it, get back to your base, and repeat. Keep getting better materials, enchantments, etc., and soon you'll be doing just fine :tongue.gif:
