Hello. I brought my laptop (windows 8) over to my friends house, I'm using his internet, and I can connect to minecraft servers. However my friend with windows 7 can't. Whenever he starts mnecraft, it says "Login failed" and he has the play offline/try again options.
I've cleaned his PC of any viruses/malware or anything like that of the sort.
More importantly I tried playing with his firewall off, but it still couldn't get online.
I feel like there's some sort of personal internet option here not allowing his connection to minecraft.net but I haven't been able to find a fix.
I realize there's a problem with servers unable to ban you if you change your name, and instead of adding a unique ID for everyone why not make it 2 bucks. So what if you didn't know your username would be your minecraft name, most of us didn't (including me.) So make it like 2$, I don't think hackers on servers that get banned will constantly want to pay 2$ every time they get banned. I know I wouldn't.
Hello. Apologies if this is already something implemented with the server configuration, or if it is am existing mod already. I'm just wondering if someone has devised a 'monster level' configuration, where for example you could change a creatures strength, speed, HP etcetera.
I find that the basic minecraft monsters aren't actually all that scary now-a-days, whereas when I first started I was bluntly scared at the sight of a skeleton. I'd like to modify their strength to be near-impossible to kill, unless you have a clever trap set or are fully equiped in iron or diamond--to an extent where leather armor from hide could only provide an extra few hits you could take from their devastating force.
It would just make the whole experience a lot more thrilling for myself and friends. Thanks for reading!

I'm a -huge- Naruto fan, and a ex-member of one of the allies: The Akatsuki Clan, left for personal reasons. I just think this would be great, and I would be an avid player assuming I don't lag a lot on the server. If it helps, I have years of Role Play experience if that's the direction the server is headed.

I read the thread and some of the posts, I'm pretty sure this server will be hard core, and will expect the same from me.

I have a lot of D&D knowledge, and have role played with it thoroughly. I have RP'd on World of Warcraft for 6/7 years I've been role playing. That's where I got most of my skills. I also went out to expand to a more realistic atmosphere of role play with Sand Andreas Multi-Player. I also do some nice tabletop RP with a group of friends everyonce in a while.

Yes. Once for false acusations, and another time for asking a question to an Admin, that seemed to be responding to most. No it wasn't a stupid question, it was more of a request; "hey LMFAO dude come check this **** out" because it was the last day of that server so I thought he wouldn't be busy, or even care, and surely enough I was banned.

Being born in the almost abandoned year of 2190, he would be 22 in modern days. But in his childhood, wasn't much a childhood at all really, he had one friend, his family took the girl in when she was 4, almost murdered on a rotten-mossy grilled side-walk, dressed with a scraggly blood stained robe as well as a white scarf. Her name was Tessa, but in those days there was hardly any signs of the human race left on the planet, so names were not of any interest. The scarf she wore was her most prized possesion, it was the only remembrance of her mommy. Cloud only had his older brother, his mother and his Dad, his actual father had left them just before his mothers labour. The Dad that hardly raised him, only provided clothes and a sufficent amount of self-entertainment tools. So he was pretty screwed and had to teach himself how to do anything, unless his brother had already done so.
By the year of 2205, being 15 the natural male and female mind-set had changed, and there was a little secluded romance between Cloud and Tessa. Him and his older brother would also get in to more arguements, his brother was about 5 years older then him, but still interested. She was the only teenager of the opposite sex around, who would blame him? So they would brawl a few times, giving Cloud some decent hand to hand combat experience. It was kind of fun for all of them though, I mean it was basically a miniature high school, in a vault! But that soon all faded one night when his mother was taken out by a group of raiders. She had wearily left the vault they were living in underground to go for a quick jog to turn on their backup generator as the one they'd been using was all used-up for electicity purposes. It sent Cloud's brother, into shock. It was not long before they found his body in his room hanging from the ceiling. Their mother had been the only educator to the 3, Tessa, Cloud and his brother. So it was saddening for all of them, and Cloud didn't know how much more he could take. Tessa being the only female of the house at this point felt it was her duty to fulfill the mother role, and went about cleaning, getting living-essentials and what not.
The Dad of the house began to go crazy, and some grim undescribable stuff too sadistic for text occured in the house between the man and Tessa while Cloud was out one late afternoon, in the year of 2212. He was out on a water run, so he could take it back to burn&purify it so they could have something to quench their thirst for the weekend, or to be believed resting period. Once returning to Tessa's slashed-up nude corpse in the kitchen, as well as his his Dad no where in sight, there was absolutely no intention in Cloud's mind to stay. Her scarf lay not to far beside her, she'd always have it wrapped around her neck, it was long on her as a child as it was her mothers, so it still fit to this day and she some how kept it clean, which is quite a feat given the harsh environment. He cleaned the carcus with the water he had gathered, clothed and wrapped it up to give her some dignity left work on a grave. And that's what he did his last night in the house, if his Dad snuck back in to the property, he wouldn't make it five steps in with out being killed at the hands of Cloud. By sun, or what could be seen of the sun-rise, the last "known" living human of the Russell family had gathered all of his clothes and stored them away in his PIABIAM. Tessa was burried somewhere outside the little vault home, resting in what little peace she could have been. Cloud wanted it to be that way so if the world did ever change for the better, she'd have front-row seats to the viewing. With that being said, off he was on a expedition for survival.
He had basic cooking knowledge from his mother and Tessa, as well as some with the arts of crafting and engineering from his brother. He had taken the scarf from Tessa, as a token of remembrance, as she once used for her own mother. To finish it off he has a pair of old scraggly leather work-boots that his older brother used to endure, since they now fit him. His PIA was always strapped to his right leg, the leather made from the same material used on his belt.

Calm, collective, and not particularily out-going. However if the situation stands he will not be afraid to put his opinion in, and he regularily would reject any sort of mission given to him. He can be self-centered, and a smile, or even a slight hint of a grin would be rare. His facial expression would usually be monotone along with his voice. The only time you'd hear the slight pitch change would be when he is angered. He is also a tactical-thinker, however he may use his last resorts uncarefully, or they may not fall under the category of "last".
Occupation:
Unemployed. He is adventuring in hopes of finding something of interest to do. Or perhaps something to keep him going.
Can your character read or write?
He is simply a geniuos when it comes to reading, gifted to and gain more experience with text. He was educated by his mother, to a certain degree, but his reading level was simply outstanding. However writing on the other hand, he is very sloppy with it, and some words he just can't get. But if it comes to speech, or pronouncing things, he is the guy to speak with.
Can your character mine?
No. Can he be taught? Probably.
Can your character build?
Yes. He was taught by his brother, who was a sucker for gadgets. Having some pre-experience with his brothers PIA, that he now has as his own. I mean what else could he be taught with? He may not be able to build a house, however any neccesary tools to do so, or some form of weaponry wouldn't be too much of a problem. The only catch is, he'd need the supplies.
Can your character fight?
If it came to hand to hand combat yeah, but it could turn out to be more of a child-like scrap. He'd need to be taught how to fight useing anything else, otherwise he'd be hacking around a blade like a two year old.
Any special skills?
Other then his gifted reading progression, not really. He does however fit in the 10% of the population that would've been able to see farther then most beings bearing the human eye.
Does you character have any health/physical or mental problems/issues?
Not described in the story, he is elergic to penissilen which can be found in needles. He is also very sensitive, as he knows no more of his family, and witnessed the corpses of his mother, brother and next-to sister. He'll often suffer from nightmares most of the time, assuming he can get any sleep at all. But he is not insane, he is rather innocent.
Can you give me a short example of roleplay when you are in danger or when you are in deep pain?:
"****ing run!!! Goood damnit!!! Why?!" *Cloud would growl running through the barren wasteland, searching for any corner to dip into away from the Raiders.* --Cloud takes a quick turn down under a hill to his left, running for some near by mountain hillsides. He then got a arrow through the right calf, falling on his face.-- "Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!~" *Cloud roared in pain, his adrenaline not supporting.* "N-No... Is this it? Is this the fate all planned out for me?! God damnit..." --Raiders approaching, shooting rapid-fire arrows.-- "No! Please n-n-no!" *He'd start to stutter, in tears, countless amounts of arrows pierced through his skin.* "Mother... Tes-" *Not able to make out the last few words, his eyes darkened as the arrows did not stop. Another carcus for the taking.*

But if you denie me I probably wont make another application for this server, I just dont want to waste another few hours XD. Not implying making it the first time was a waste thought.* I look forwad to playing if I get accepted.
Well, stopping for the night, we invited another friend like half way in, we have made it to like n4 or n5 so yeah.
But some things:
You should add some rules, like no bashing through walls of towns and stuff unless mentioned, this would've helped me and my friend a lot, because we had no idea if we could or not :/ So we kinda cheated if it was cheating in a few parts so far.
So the three of us are calling it a night, I'm leaving my MP Server up while they work on our home XD. I'll post my final say about the map tomorrow when ever we finish.
PS: It has it's ups and downs, but it's pretty good so far.
Me and my friend have been lookin' for a map that seems promising to play. Him and I are gonna attempt this on Multiplayer so, wish us luck and I'll comment on it when I'm done ^^.
I've had this problem ever since the most recent update. So it's been on-going for some time, will someone please read this and respond with a solution :sad.gif:
Well, I'm not exactly sure what the mods contain, but if the textures of your tools etc. are changed then it's definetly a mod of some sort that's causing this. On your own customized texture pack, you may have forgotten to delete the files that change the skins of the tools, just saying.
But if that doesn't help, there's really nothing I can do :<
Mkay, I had this problem when I was making a server for me and a friend to play on, however I managed to fix it.
How I did this?
Well, I pressed "Start", go to run or find, put in "%appdata%" with out the quotes, and it should take you to a folder called Roaming, you go in it and find your .minecraft folder. You want to delete it, delete your launcher if you must, reinstall EVERYTHING to do with minecraft (You may want to save your worlds first somewhere else on your computer, they can be found in your folder calld "saves") don't touch anything, and try and log in, if the problems fixed, proceed to putting your mods in, and your old worlds in.
Hope that helped, although you may have already have tried this, it worked for me. I only had this problem when I downloaded a but-load of mods, but never deleted my META_INF folder. Which btw is located in your minecraft.jar file, that you can open with Winrar Archiver and you can find it there.

Well, I pressed "Start", go to run or find, put in "%appdata%" with out the quotes, and it should take you to a folder called Roaming, you go in it and find your .minecraft folder. You want to delete it, delete your launcher if you must, reinstall EVERYTHING to do with minecraft (You may want to save your worlds first somewhere else on your computer, they can be found in your folder calld "saves") don't touch anything, and try and log in, if the problems fixed, proceed to putting your mods in, and your old worlds in.
Hope that helped, although you may have already have tried this, it worked for me. I only had this problem when I downloaded a but-load of mods, but never deleted my META_INF folder. Which btw is located in your minecraft.jar file, that you can open with Winrar Archiver and you can find it there.
