MoodyAtom posted a message on The MyMod - The Land Of Misfit Mod Ideas!Posted in: WIP Mods
Hello, My name is MoodyAtom, and this is my first mod. The MyMod is, or as I like to think of it, "The Land Of Misfit Mod Ideas". Want to add a spinning saw that can cut through trees with ease, I got you covered. I will be taking any suggestions in this post. This is also the first mod for the MoodyModding team, a team of newbie modders by the names of:- My Self: MoodyAtom
- My Colleague: icarly8
So far, this mod only adds 9 things, but that's where you come in! I will be taking ideas and suggestions from this topic and from PMs. A planned feature is, when you craft the new item, armor, block, or whatever you get a new achievement depicting what you made and who came up with it.
The FunArmor!, Created by: MoodyAtom, Idea by: icarly8
Aqualung
Fire Man's Vest
Super Hero Tights
Bunny Boots!
The On Stage Set! Created by: MoodyAtom, Idea by: MoodyAtom and icarly8's mother.
A set of blocks to help you fulfill your dreams of being a rock star... or a pop star.. or a rap star... or whatever.
Currently no crafting recipes, too lazy for that. But they will be in the next update!

Please Note: This is a Forge Mod, that means you simply install forge then put this file in your "Mods" folder!
If you are going to put this up somewhere else, or make a video on it, please link to this post in some way and remember to give credit to me, icarly8, and everyone's item you go over.
*You seriously thought this was fine print?! We don''t do that. - To post a comment, please login.

DISCLAIMER: This Mod is currently in development. If you would like to test it, there will be an Open Beta when the mod is ready.
Basic Progression
You Progress through Astral Magic by upgrading your Altar, which is the magical conduit between the Celestial Bodies and the World. You can upgrade your altar later on in the mod in order to craft more complex things. I suppose we should start off with the very first block you are going to want to craft, the Weak Star Catcher.
The Star Catchers are how you obtain you magic sources: Stars. In order to create the star catcher, you will need a net that can harness the kinetic force of the star and send it rocketing down to earth. Here is the recipes you need in order to craft your first Star Catcher:
Materials Needed:
First you will want to create a dropper, which is just seven cobblestone and a redstone dust.Next, you will want to craft the Astral Net:
Then use that in the recipe for the Star Catcher:
You will want to place the Star catcher high into the atmosphere, where it has a potential to catch low-flying shooting stars. After a while, the Star Catcher will catch a star and rocket it downwards, colliding with the earth. This is your first star in your Constellation Network. A Constellation Network is basically you power system. You have your source, your storage, your conduit, and your output (Usually machines). In this case, the source is the Sun or the Moon, the storage is the Stars, the conduit is the altar, and your output is your magic.
Here is what your first star looks like:
Next up you are going to want to construct an Altar.
In order to create your altar, you will need the following materials:
You will want to craft the gold into a block and put them in the crafting table like so:
Then craft a Basic Astral Focus:
And form them into a structure like this!
--Incomplete Entry--
Now that you have your Altar, lets do something with it!
One of the only things you can do with your Tier 1 Altar, is imbue a liquid with the magic of the sun or moon. You can not yet imbue blocks or items directly, as you do not have a strong enough magical connection to the Celestial Bodies.
You get Liquid Sunlight or Moonlight by placing Lava and Water respectively in basins around the Altar Core.
Basins are crafted like so:
Now you will decide which magic you want to branch out into-- Solar, or Lunar?
The Sun favors power, wanting to get as much done as possible in such little time, but in doing so can be destructive. The Moon favors reverence, trying to be as efficient as it can with what it has, though monsters spawn in the night, and they seem to be drawn towards lunar Magic.
After you have made your decision, place the respective liquid, Lava or Water, in the Basins. Make sure it is the respective time cycle (Day or Night) for the liquid you are trying to make. The Focus on top of the Altar will now begin forcing energy out of the Star and into the Altar Core. The Altar Core will distribute it to the attached basins, converting the liquid (Albeit very slowly) into the respective liquid of choice. You can not put it into a bucket at this point in time, as the liquid is bound to that location in Astral Space. There will be a machine later on that will unbind it, allowing it to be manipulated.
Now you have a magic liquid thing, what do you do with it? Now, you have the chance to progress through to the next Tier of the Altar, opening up more options. As soon as you have a full basin of liquid, you will want to drop a gold nugget into it, and leave it to sit there for a few minutes. (Don't worry, it's less than five minutes, so it wont despawn.) It will now begin the imbuing process, and eventually will turn into a Lunar or Solar Drop.
Now you have the Drops, how do you use them to progress?
Well that's simple! You just craft them with the Altar Core like so:
--PENDING--
And you get the next Tier Altar! Wait, no? What do you mean there's more to it than that? It says it in the recipe right here! "Altar Core Tier 2..." Wait, what? Another Multiblock? You have got to be kidding me! It was hard enough to code one!
Well, looks like there is more to make that just recrafting the Altar Core. Now you have to build up 3 block high stone brick pillars on each corner of the Altar, and also put Lunar Stone or Solar Sand on top.
Lunar Stone and Solar Sand are crafted like so:
--PENDING--
Your finished Tier Two Altar should look like this:
--PENDING--
This thread is not yet complete. I will be adding information to the thread as the in information is made (And if I have the time).
