OP: Since you're using an iMac, I doubt there is a way to turn off the screen since you weren't able to find a way to turn off the display. My advice is to just turn down the brightness as far as it will go.

As a reputable company, they either have to go full in or none at all. There is no exceptions, exclusions or deals they could make since they have already taking action before on other things. What if they gave Pixelmon a blind eye or a special deal, what would the Pokémon Uranium team and fans feel about that? Or the Metroid fangame community? Potentially a worse PR disaster then this one.
Also, your boycott probably won't do anything, and in my opinion, most of the dedicated Pixelmon fans will still buy USM because they are Pokémon fans at heart.
So I'm not exactly into minecraft anymore. But I still have my account, And I'm making this post because I got a couple of worrying emails this morning regarding my account. I did a bit of googling and couldn't find anything related to it.
The first email was from mojang informing me of a request to change my security questions. I haven't logged into my account in about a year so that wasn't me. The next was an email was this:

it came from a [email protected] address and the name attatched to it was "5 D" clearly not a legitimate email.
I never intended to sell my minecraft account. As odd as it sounds I actually still play from time to time and I'm not letting it go. I'm not exactly sure what is going on here, but its either a scam to get into your minecraft account or to get into your email, and therefore your personal data through your minecraft account. First thing I did this morning was change my password to something longer and more complex. Has anyone here experienced the same thing? If so, put it below. If not be on the lookout.

Singleplayer runs fine and so do LAN worlds. One more question, what resources (URLs, programs etc.) does the server access/use?
The server program is a standalone Java program and requires Java to be installed. But you already have that since you play Minecraft on that computer.
If your friend is in another network or house, you'll need to portforward. This can vary by router to router, but it's easy and someone here can help you with that.
Other then that, the server doesn't demand much else.
If your PC runs singleplayer well and not too stuttery, you should have no problem running the server as well I guess.

Sadly, all three protectors (AA, Proguans, and Techlistaris Co.) won't allow them to enter the Central Government of Proguans because of a long crisis they're needed to be addressed right now, and instead telling them to go to a foreign Proguan's embassy instead.
The Proguans have no interests in allying with the Heretics like the Techlistaris Co. , hence they do not care and disapproving an alliance with them. Even they do ally with the heretics, the Alfieq's Army policies and regulations (as a puppet) will stomping their puppets from ever accepting anyone's alliance without permissions from AA's high command.
For AA, it was rejected because they doesn't know who and what was the 'Ancient Army' is, and currently have a very low opinion of them, due in fact they doesn't give any reason(s) to be friendly with the AA.
