I have not played Minecraft in ages. I recently came back and found that I no longer make footsteps sounds constantly. Occasionally I hear a sounds like when you walk on wood but it is sporadic and it occurs regardless of where I walk. I tried redownloading the installer and telling it to repair but nothing and I have tried tweaking my sound settings. I just tried reinstalling and it seems that I do have footstep sounds but the grass ones are really really really low for some reason.
It used to be that simply replacing the seed for one of the appropriate biome would change the weather in an already generated world, but now it no longer seems to work. Did the new save format change where the biome or weather data was stored?
Yeah I was thinking that he changed it so rare items only drop through combat. I still get string from spiders when my trap kills them just not the eyes.
I have found that I NEVER get spider eyes from my mob grinder, however if I go out and kill them myself I have a moderate chances of getting them. Has anyone noticed this?
I'm looking specifically for a snow biome that also consists of dense forests and mountain ranges. Most of the snowy biomes I've seen are usually frozen wastelands with maybe one or two trees here and there, and mostly flat boring land. I really miss those snow worlds back then, that had a bit of everything, all covered in snow.
What you can do is find a mountain biome world. Generate the biome then using nbt edit replace the seed with a snow biome seed. That will change the weather causing it to snow in the mountain biome.
I am actually copying all these down. My 1.8 world after the patch has rain over half my snowy biome but I found out that weather is tied to the seed. If I can plot in the right snowy biome seed I can fix it. Problem is that if the biome is too big it ends up snowing in my temperate outposts as well as my snowy ones.
On Sept 13, Notch said that he would change the vines to spread infinitely down, but would not grow other directions if there are more than four other vine blocks nearby. So that should regulate their spread a bit more.
Have you thought of just building a farm right off the bat? Wild grass is plentiful so it is not that hard to start a farm and in the morning your are bound to find some bonemeal. Or make a fishing rod. Even in deserts there is usually a pond somewhere. It is not that big of an issues and I always play on hardcore.
I am betting that in 1.9 they will make Ender Pearls an item that you can use to protect blocks against them moving them. Like if you use it on a block it protects a 3x3 space from them or something like that.
What if they made it so you could use Ender Peals to protect blocks from them moving them? That would give an incentive to kill them and at least give an option to people suffering from Endermen destroying their buildings.
