Really? Now, that's interesting. I was pretty sure that Vechs wanted to make use of a new feature that was just added - I don't play MC for such a long time, but it seems like NR was released around the time where endermen were introduced - there is a sign complaining about them in front of the dungeon with the bedrock box, and they are mentioned at least one more time in the red wool dungeon...
I'd imagine boats would be pretty glitchy. Not sure if minecarts would even work - you need to have a railtrack for that, and you can't build inside of the bedrock box - so you'd be stuck in the bedrock and suffocate, because the railway ends there.
Yea. Doing it with boats is just...*SLAMS HEAD INTO KEYBOARD.*
Lol, no. Although I think they were able to do that some time back...
Yep, correct. Just didn't want too make the hint that obvious / be this concrete. I thought it'd be pretty clear once one has figured out what mob I was talking about.
Also:
The addition of Enderchests is actually one of the best features in this snapshot, IMO.
Wish I woulda thought of that way in. Mine was so much more of a pain.
Those all sound really cool to me, esp the use of pressure plates to make water flows.
And yes, if you did it big, but with clear variations. For me at least, I'm getting lost a lot in Lethamyr and having to climb the mountains to find my way "home" The forests sort of blend together for me so far.
I think the clover-island theme would work, as long as the islands are relatively large.
I cut down the forest. All of it. It took forever.
About the tripwire:
Actually, i'ts pretty bad... It's even harder to hide then a pressureplate, because it has to be at least 3 blocks wide, and while the wire itself is pretty invisible, the parts where it connects to the wall are not... HOWEVER, if they listen to the topcomments on that video (make it invisible in the dark; make it possible to place it in midair), then it could be REALLY bad, because if placed in midair, you can't jump over it and you can't disarm it without shears.
If you're not placing torches, you're asking for trouble. Thus, in the dark's only semi effective.
In the air, eh. Can dig under it. Ground would have to be only 1 layer with no close lower spots to reach and build from, or noticing the wall mounts in the air would just prompt a drop down.
Ok, I remember there was a kit with all the schematics for monster spawners, a starter map, and some other stuff. Yes, MCEdit is not stable, but could it at least still be there? You know, for the people who want to murder their minecraft worlds?
There's a post a few pages back with an updated version at someone's request, with the new schematics and all. Maybe if you'd actually looked, instead of just crying?
I can easily complete the victory monument using dyes; that's why it's against the rules. Why can't it be against the rules to give villagers wool that isn't from fleecy boxes?
Does have a point. These maps only work because we're honest in not dying wool to place on the monument. If someone wants to cheat, their loss on the fun and challenge.
The night I heard it'd passed, there was a big discussion about it at the bar I frequent. It was immediately obvious just how uninformed the majority were. Preachers in nearly every church here were telling people to go vote on it because being homosexual is a sin. Had more than a handful admit that's the only thing they'd even heard before voting.
Sorry that last post was entirely off topic. I generally have this thread opened in a tab(Love LPs based on the Vechs series if the player's entertaining, so always looking for more), and stumbled across the NC comment.
Anyway. To be on topic. Thanks Vechs, for the amazing work you've put into these maps, all of which have scared me away before completion.
On behalf of the intelligent few in North Carolina, we're sorry. The attempts made to help the masses actually understand the con they were being walked into, failed horribly.:(

Why should we include you?: I've been looking for somewhere to call home on Minecraft, and would love to get in somewhere early on. Still drooling over the city screen shot, or I'd probably be able to put together a more logical thought process here.

Why do you want to join: It's multi-player Skyblock. Reason enough.
