    I don't like the idea of making an armor that has any special effects by itself, since we're getting enchanted items soon anyway.

    However, I always thought you should be able to craft rotten flesh into armor, but just leather armor,afterall, leather is just cow flesh. I think you should be able to put rotten flesh in a furnace to "cure/harden" it, then craft 4 peices of cured flesh to make 1 leather.

    Not that we really need more leather, just another use for rotten flesh.

    I support this idea.
    I'm getting sick of having to fix my terrain and buildings on a daily basis.
    Torches, not a problem. I think this would greatly add to the atmosphere, and help flesh out the Endermen.

    I like the Idea, but I agree it should be difficult. Maybe you mine with a gold pick, which takes twice as long as obsidian (You'll really want to pick it up), with a chance of a mob spawning regardless of light level "OH CRAP! I accidently set it off". This will give you a dead spawner

    Then, you need to surround it by 7 redstone to re-prime it, including an item to indicate which mob to spawn. Bone for skeleton, slimeball for slime, string for spider, rotten flesh for zombie, meat/wool for passive mobs.(Ender pearl anyone?).

    Then you need to ignite the fire again by putting it in a furnace with 1 bucket of lava, or equivelant amount of coal.

    That may be sufficent...

    Anyway, I don't like the idea as it is. But I like tht thought of crafting a "Scanner" out of iron, diamond, and redstone.

    Using it opens a GUI which you can put 1 block in the center of and the scanner will light up if you're within 5-10 blocks of the selected block type. Though, it won't tell you which direction. You'll have to figure it out yourself.

    My thoughts anyway.

    How so? I'm not aware of anyone having paid for new skin textures before. I guess Mojang could impliment an option to buy skin/armor, but with so many free options(after all, it's just a .png file), I doubt that would happen.

    I am all for this idea. And as the servers already support custom skins I don't see why they couldn't add custom armor as well.

    Personally I like the idea of taming slimes.

    I've suggusted it before on another forum.
    You could tame tiny slimes (nothing bigger) by using rotten flesh. The more rotten flesh you feed them the bigger they get until they become a medium/large slime and can help defend you. They cannot get any bigger then this and will only drop 1 slimeball if killed, so no incentive to kill/farm tame slimes. Plus, a new use for rotten flesh other than eating it and getting sick.

    Maybe if a large tamed slime dies it would create two medium tamed slimes, which would each make 2 tiny slimes if killed.

    As far as agressive mobs being persistent, they wouldnt. So only the tamed slimes would be persistant (Like wolves).

    Do I like this idea? yes!
    Should it be in Vanilla? Unlikely.

    While I think this is a great Idea, I doubt it would be implemented in vanilla. Notch did add Endermen, but they are rare, and turned out not as scary as intended. I think they are keeping it E for Everyone. Though, when I first saw silverfish attack i freaked a little.

    Maybe add as a Horror mod. Imagine, going to sleep without any lights on randomly causes you to spawn in a nightmare realm (The landscape generates the same but is re-textured, your home and everthing still exists, but changed). the sky and ocean are a blood red and everything is dying. Trees are barren, and these nightmare creatures hunt you at every turn. You are now on a quest to hunt one of every demon to obtain their tears in order to create a potion that will cause you to awaken in your bed, safe, back in your home world...

    Oooh, creepy. I love it!

    I like the idea.
    I think it would be good to use 5 diamond for a diamond boat that can sail in lava. Maybe include a diamond boat using 5 diamond blocks that will never break as an alternative. Also, I would like to think I can reclaim my diamond boat and move to a new lake without it breaking... So similar to a minecart.

    While I'm all for the additions, I also agree. Just as you have the option to turn off NPC Villages, there should be an option to turn off RPG Elements. No Exp, No Buffs, No Villages. This way people who like Minecraft as a Sandbox game and not an RPG can play the way they want to. Hopefully the final verson would include this option.
