Jul 9, 2014Animedude5555 posted a message on Snapshot 14w28a (now B) is Ready For Testing! Be Sure to Report Bugs!Game plays much more jerky in the new version. The rendering distance as set in the video options was 5 chunks, back in snapshot version 14w27b (and most other versions normal and snapshot versions before that), because anything high would have made the graphics very jerky. Now in snapshot version 14w28a, I have to set it to half that distance (2 chunks) if I am to make it not get jerky while playing. I don't know what Mojang did to the graphics engine in the last update, but it isn't working very well for me. Despite the bug in 14w27b that flipped the direction of powered rails placed on slopes, at least the game played at a reasonable frame rate for a render distance of 5 chunks (the minimum distance that I would recommend you ever set, because anything less obscures too much of the land at a distance). Now in version 14w28a, I'm forced to set the render distance to half that and have an unplayably short sight distance in the game, or alternatively I'm forced to play with a ridiculously low framerate (like 5 to 10 fps) which makes the game unplayably jerky.Posted in: News

Jul 2, 2014Animedude5555 posted a message on Snapshot 14w27a is Now Ready for Hopping!Check the available snapshots in the Minecraft launcher program. Already up to snapshot 14w27b. Not sure what "b" has different than "a", but I can only assume it is some bug fixes. Please make new blog post to reflect this new snapshot.Posted in: News

May 14, 2013Animedude5555 posted a message on Snapshot 13w19a Ready for TestingSo the new one can NOT be played offline? The resources for the game are ENTIRELY stored on Mojang's server? Is that what you guys are saying? Does he plan to release an offline mode for the new client, or is part of the new client going to be always forced online play to prevent piracy?Posted in: News

/give @p minecraft:written_book 1 0 {pages:["{text:\"Hello there\",color:blue}"]}
does not work, even though you posted this as the correct command (and showed examples of wrong commands for comparison). Your command that should work does not work. Inside the book it says "Invalid book tag" when I try to view the book. Would you PLEASE fix your command. By the way I'm using the latest snapshot of MC so Mojang may have changed the proper syntax in preparation for MC version 1.8. Could you please research this matter, and come up with a CORRECT command for creating written books.

For future reference, how long do I need to wait before going back to try to get my stuff? I found a safe place in the nether to hide (I hear that hiding out in the overworld doesn't calm them down). And I want to know how long I need to wait before I can go back and try to gather all the items I dropped, without them attacking me again as soon as they see me (so far I've been taken out 10 times in a row as I have tried to go back and get my stuff, so I've decided to wait, but I need to know for how long).

By the way, there is no cheat code to allow you to change the generator's seed. Also there is no cheat code to enable you to connect to a Minecraft server for multiplayer.

/gamemode 1
This will put you into Creative Mode. To get back to survival mode you use the cheat:
/gamemode 0
I always thought that the ability to cheat, and the ability to play the game in Creative Mode was part of what you payed for when you bought the game. So either this is Mojang trying to give people the ability to try out Creative Mode, even in the demo version (hoping that this will get more customers, who would love to buy the game just for Creative Mode), or this is a glitch in the game that allows people to bypass some of the demo version's restrictions.

If crafting it makes it to cheap/easy to use, how about have it only be able to be generated by the administrator with a Give command, or in the creative menu (no crafting allowed). This would allow an administrator who wanted to allow it to be used, to place one or more in a treasure chest in some hidden area, so that whoever managed to find this rare weapon, would have an advantage over those he was fighting against, but it would take some to get it, because he'd have to explore a lot to find the hidden area.

/summon Fireball ~ ~1 ~ {ExplosionPower:2,direction:[5.0,0.0,0.0],Motion:[5.0,0.0,0.0]}
Change which axis the velocity numbers numbers are on to aim it (make sure the Motion and direction have the same values). Increase these numbers for even greater speed. At about 10.0 the thing is like a laser (which is what you were wanting). Increase the ExplosionPower for the shot to cause even more damage from the explosion that happens upon the fireball striking its target (and gives it a larger blast radius as well).

How to set the direction? It will face one of the 6 main directions (-x, +x, -y, +y, -z, or +z) depending on what way you are facing when you place it. If your character is facing at some intermediate angle, it will see which of these 6 main directions is closest to the one you are facing, and place the charge's aim in that direction. It can be triggered in any of the ways that normal TNT can be triggered. But doesn't primed/triggered TNT fall down? Yes it does, but primed Shaped Charge will not fall down when triggered. A primed Shaped Charge will start flashing, but remain exactly where it was placed, and continue facing in the exact same direction as when it was placed, so you can place them strategically and set them off without gravity messing up your placement when they have been triggered.

I found these myself by trying out different ones to see which were most useful.
SUMMON COMMANDS:
Create Ghast Fireball that can be launched with a punch (Increasing ExplosionPower causes a bigger explosion on impact with target.)
/summon Fireball ~ ~1 ~ {ExplosionPower:1,direction:[0.0,0.0,0.0],Motion:[0.0,0.0,0.0]}
Create Ghast Fireball that instantly launches downward from one block below your feet (great for aerial bombardment of targets while flying in creative mode, and again larger values of ExplosionPower create bigger explosions)
/summon Fireball ~ ~-1 ~ {ExplosionPower:5,direction:[0.0,-4.0,0.0],Motion:[0.0,-4.0,0.0]}
Create Ender Crystal (hit with anything to cause it to explode)
/summon EnderCrystal ~ ~1 ~
Create Primed TNT (will explode instantly, and is good for making traps if command is used from a redstone signal powered Command Block)
/summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~
Create Primed TNT with short delay (2 seconds until explosion)
/summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:40}
Create Primed TNT with normal delay (4 seconds until explosion)
/summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:80}
Create Primed TNT with normal delay (6 seconds until explosion)
/summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:120}
Note that the Ghast Fireball's normal ExplosionPower in the game is 1 (if 0 is used, it will damage any mob it hits, but there will be no damage to a block if it hits a block nor will any fires be started). At 2 or 3 it is approximately as powerful as a TNT explosion. At 5 or 6 it is approximately as powerful as an Ender Crystal explosion. At 10 it's equivalent to a standard high explosive airplane-dropped bomb. At 20 it's equivalent to a Daisy Cutter, but be careful as the target must be very far away, or you'll be killed by the explosion. At 50 or more it's equivalent to a nuclear weapon. Watch out when using it at 50+, as if you can see the target, you'll be killed by the explosion (unless you set your view distance to maximum in the game options, and aim at a target right near the edge of what can be seen, and set the ExplosionPower to no more than about 100).
Also as a general warning for using the Ghast Fireball, step back after spawning it, before you hit it to launch it, or it will start in the same place you are standing, and it will see that as impacting you! It must be in front of you before you launch it, or it will blow up immediately and kill you. Also watch out for grass in the way, as if it hits grass it will blow up as if it hit a solid object, and at higher ExplosionPower levels, this mistake could cost you your life.
The safest way to use it is to be invincible by being in creative mode when launching it.
Note that Primed TNT cannot have its Fuse value set to any number larger than 127. If it is 128 or larger, it will behave as if the fuse was set at 0 (the default), meaning an instant explosion.
FILL COMMANDS:
Create "nuke sized" cube of TNT just below your feet (When detonated it will create a huge crater, especially if you dug down into the ground a few blocks before placing it, and can easilly be ignited with flint&steel or firecharge or redstone signal, but you better be able to run VERY fast if you light it close up)
/fill ~-5 ~-1 ~-5 ~5 ~-11 ~5 tnt
Create "nuke sized" cube of TNT 10 spaces above your feet (or 9 spaces above your head, which is useful for remotely detonating with a Ghast Fireball projectile, and causes widespread surface damage)
/fill ~-5 ~10 ~-5 ~5 ~20 ~5 tnt
Create Obsidian "bunker" just below your feet (It can only be penetrated with Diamond Pickaxe, and you'll need to do so to make a doorway to get into it, unless you are in creative mode.)
/fill ~-3 ~-1 ~-3 ~3 ~-7 ~3 obsidian 0 hollow
Create Obsidian "bunker" that you start inside (It can only be penetrated with Diamond Pickaxe, and you'll need to do so to make a doorway to get out of it, unless you are in creative mode.)
/fill ~-3 ~-1 ~-3 ~3 ~5 ~3 obsidian 0 hollow
Create Bedrock "bunker" just below your feet (This is completely invincible, and you will need to be in creative mode to create a doorway to get into it.)
/fill ~-3 ~-1 ~-3 ~3 ~-7 ~3 bedrock 0 hollow
Create Bedrock "bunker" that you start inside (This is completely invincible, and you will need to be in creative mode to create a doorway to get out of it.)
/fill ~-3 ~-1 ~-3 ~3 ~5 ~3 bedrock 0 hollow
Keep in mind that these bunkers can also have a hole knocked into them with an explosion from a Ghast Fireball who's ExplosionPower set to at least 278. If it's 500, the entire bunker will be destroyed if the explosion occurs inside. If it's 1000 and the Ghast Fireball explodes inside the bunker, there will be some damage to the nearby area around the bunker as well from the explosion penetrating the Obsidian walls.
GIVE COMMANDS:
Get a Diamond Pickaxe
/give @p diamond_pickaxe
Get a Diamond Shovel
/give @p diamond_shovel
Get a Diamond Axe
/give @p diamond_axe
Get a Diamond Sword
/give @p diamond_sword
Get a Diamond Helmet

/give @p obsidian 64
Get maxed out Bedrock
/give @p bedrock 64
Get a Command Block (Command Blocks allow you to automate these commands, and many others, by causing the command to be called when powered by a Redstone signal. Primed TNT can be spawned with these, rather then simply having redstone light regular TNT, thus making a reusable booby trap.)
/give @p command_block
The ultimate mining code! (destroys an 11x11x11 section of blocks just below your feet, and converts them into pick-up-able items)
