posted a message on [v3.7] AMIDST - Strongholds, Village, Biome, Etc. Finder. [1.7.4]
    [Suggestion]

Can you add on a function that searches for high percentages of a specific biome or combination of biomes?

    Like...

I want jungle-ocean, so I check the boxes (jungle and ocean) and it searches through seeds with high percentages of jungle and ocean biomes until I find a specific one I like.

Maybe it could even have other functions like (find) stronghold in desert, or mushroom biome near 0,0

With this program that certainly seems possible and it would become extraordinarily useful for people who are looking for specific world types.

If this is possible you could even make it more sophisticated, like finding specifically "jungle island" which would look for a sufficiently high percentage of jungle within certain coordinates and a high percentage of ocean outside those same coordinates

Maybe you have it, but there should be a button for "random seed" so manual input isn't necessary when looking through worlds to find a good one, like CTRL - R being a button to generate a random seed.

ALSO, it should remember the decision between "default" "superflat" and "large biomes" instead of prompting you each time. Maybe there can be a little check box in the corner or something between the three options.

Also, it doesn't recognize the jungle biome added in the 1.2 update.

Anytime I try to use the program, it would open but no image would show up and it would just be a gray box (after trying to generate a map)

Recently the program wont open anymore, generating some text document error:

    Quote from KyoShinda

    I like all of it.
How will I know how many levels are required?
How would I get a certain level of the enchant?

Edit: Maybe if you place the item back in, it cycles through all the versions since it's 3 slots but 5 enchants for some.(I,II,III,IV,V). This is cool.

Well, that's where bookshelves come into play.

If you have a lot of bookshelves you only see the higher enchantments, if you don't have many bookshelves you only see the lower enchantments.

    Ender Pearl fix:

when a clay soldier becomes infected and begins attacking fellow soldiers, they're passive to the abuse.

I.E. Infected green can kill the entire green team with little effort, because green doesn't fight back against infected green.

Not sure if it's a glitch, but everyone should turn against zombies. An infected green zombie shouldn't be identified as green team, it should be identified as zombie team.

Anyways, awesome work. I love this mod, I install it anytime it's relatively current :tongue.gif:

    Quote from godhand205

Topis viewed by Curse and Mojang are good enough to be taken into consideration by them. Just because it's something a majority wants, does not mean it should be implemented. An entire Minecraft community is here. If something is good enough, Mojang will see it because of the community.

    That's simply not the point.

It's a place for all the universally liked suggestions to congregate. There's nothing about a guarantee those suggestions will be implemented. You must have misread.

"A community is here" Okay, but you can still make things go more smoothly by organizing it so the process is more efficient.

posted a message on Minecraft 'suggestion forum' suggestion
The suggestion forum should be for us, the community. The best suggestions, as decided by the community should be in one easy to access place.
There should be ONE topic that the folks at Mojang should have to click.

    A pinned "Top suggestions"topic.

The top suggestions would be decided by members of the community by popular vote. For example, the criteria to be put into the 'top suggestions' topic could be the total votes for a suggestion would have to be 80% positive with 200+ votes. This way, all of the suggestions which are universally liked naturally float to the top and are easy for Mojang to pick out. All they have to do is go to the 'top suggestions' topic and see what's there. The community decides what goes there.

The top suggestions topic would link to each original suggestion, which would need to have a mandatory "yes or no" poll.
[Technical suggestion: once a topic reaches 80% positive with 200+ yes votes, it shouldn't be taken down until the approval falls below 75%, or something to that effect.]

The suggestion forum is always overwhelmed with hundreds of random ideas, making the general consensus unclear and making inaction by Mojang much more likely. Lets fix that. This suggestion would also reduce redundant topics concerning popular ideas, or allow previously accepted ideas to be further expanded upon.

posted a message on JEB - here is a complete list of what most people want
I should clarify: these aren't my ideas. This is what I've seen the community ask for collectively and consistently.

    improve biome diversity

    • Mountains should not be their own biome. They should be part of nearly any biome. that, or mountains should at least be able to have snow and trees.
    • Medium sized hills should be generated in any biome except plains or tundra. Currently it's almost completely flat unless you're in a mountain biome. Some forests should be flat, some forests should be hilly.
    • Beaches
    • Snow in more biomes, particularly the 'pine forest' and 'mountain' biomes.

    movement

    • swimming animation
    • flying animation
    • grabbing
    • crawling
    • sprint key
    strongholds

    • more than 3 strongholds per world
    • eye of ender shouldn't 'locate' a stronghold with an activated portal
    • player traps ---- silverfish in blocks are one, but it could be simple to add pressure plate triggered traps - I.E. dispensers firing arrows

    ocean biome improvements

    • Corals
    • Fish
    • Two types of fish mobs; individual fish you could actually catch, and 'school of fish' that you cant actually interact with, but they run if you come near.

    general minecraft improvements

    • more randomly generated structures
    • sunken ships, abandoned houses. Hold a contest for minecraft player creations to have their creation be put ingame and use those. You have millions of people here willing to help you out, Jeb.
    • increased map height
    • birds
    • 'swarm of bugs' or 'swarm of bees' in the plains biome. similar to the 'school of fish' described above.
    • other 'general effects' that make the world feel alive
    • multiple zombie textures
    • aether
    • seasons
    • Seasons would be amazing, they would make Minecraft feel much more like a 'world'.

A polar biome would be a snow + ocean biome. It would be almost all ice and fairly desolate.

Also, mountains needs trees and snow. Or just trees, or just snow.

posted a message on Gold plated armor?
Gold armor is useless, but has higher 'enchantability' than anything else.

    I suggest something relatively simple...

Gold sword + iron sword = Gold plated iron sword
Gold plate + Iron plate = Gold plated iron plate
OR maybe something toned down a bit like a certain number of gold bars surrounding the iron plate.

This will get you iron armor\weapons with higher enchantability.

    Iron sword enchantability = 15
    Gold sword enchantability = 22
Gold plated iron sword enchantability = 22

posted a message on replace leveling with ENCHANTMENT BOOKS!
    Quote from Mine_brotherhood

I also agree, but you should instead, spend a WHOLE LOT of levels on the books, then you can choose the actual enchantments you want on whatever it is you are tying to enchant. For instance, say you've just killed the Enderdragon. You now have 75+ levels. You take those levels, and open up your enchantment book. You select your item of choice, and pick out which enchantments you want, each varying its price. The enchantments can still stack, so you COULD spend it all on one item. I can see where your going with this idea, and I think it's time I got back into the habit of making a mod that does what I've stated, with your inspiration. If you think you would use this mod, I might be able to finish just after 1.0.1 comes out, or whatever the next update will be named, so if you you would try it, send me a PM and if you convince me, I'll do it. :iapprove:

Well, the whole idea of enchanting books was to get around the grind of leveling.
Though, it seems as if some people do still like leveling.

I hate leveling, but I would be okay with the idea of spending 20-30 levels or so to enable an enchantment book that you found.

    I think that's a much better system.
IMO the best system would be to find an enchantment book and not have to enable it, but if you MUST level, then enabling the enchantment book is the best route to go.

I personally don't play with mods that often, but some people may like that idea. Post a topic about it and see how the reaction is.

posted a message on Leveling is not in the spirit of minecraft
    Quote from BronzeEagle

Why sit at a mob grinder, if you are an experienced player, by the time you get an enchantment table, if you dont die, you should have a lot of exp. Plus bookshelves make your enchanments way better.

Exp is exponentially gained. Getting to from 30-40 is almost the same as getting from 0-30.

It's better to use your exp at 30 instead of leveling to 40 for that reason.

Leveling is very broken... but that's a different topic I made.

    But there is no leveling...

Stop seeing the orbs enemies drop as XP, they're just magic thingies you collect to put on your stuff.

The enchantment books idea would replace 'leveling'.

I'd be happy if xp orbs were just "points", tallied to gain a highscore. It would add an age-old competitive nature between singleplayer games on minecraft.

I got X amount of points!

Yeah? Well I got Z amount of points!

And then you could completely choose to ignore them if you wanted.

posted a message on replace leveling with ENCHANTMENT BOOKS!
Leveling is not in the spirit of minecraft at all.

It takes about an hour sitting by a mob spawner to get over 30 levels for enchanting.
A level 30 enchantment is extremely random. If you're aiming for a good combination of enchantments, you usually have to enchant about 5-10 times.

That's 5-10 hours of sitting there killing things. MEH. It takes another hour to find diamond for a diamond tool. If you're looking for a specific enchantment specifically on a diamond tool, prepare to grind for 20+ hours.
Nothing else in minecraft has been such a grind.

Enchanting is awesome. Leveling is not.

To get a certain enchantment, you should have to find or make certain items used for specific enchantments.

I love the idea of using books for enchanting.

    Enchantment books.
Respiration enchantment? A book found in the ocean, that can be crafted with a bookshelf to enable the respiration enchantment when placed in sight of an enchanting table. The level of enchantment depends on how many bookshelves have the water book.
Fire protection? Book found in a nether fortress!
Projectile book? Book found in a skeleton dungeon.
Falling feather? Book found in the Aether!

Hell, you could make unique dungeons for each enchantment book (like strongholds, but full of traps relevant to the type of book) I'm sure people would love that.

So much potential content could be generated from having to find enchantment books, and it would be fun. Leveling is a grind.
