You may have a corrupt installation . Backup your minecraft install ,...ie ... just rename the directory from .minecraft to .minecraft_backup . Reinstall minecraft , setup all your version profiles and run them at least once to open a map . Get the forge from the link i posted above install it . All your 1.8 mods go into .minecraft / mods / 1.8 / , directory . Run Vanilla Launcher select the 1.8 Forge profile .
Yeserday, I completely reinstalled minecraft and ran 1.8 and everything then went and reinstalled Forge (the recommended version) and put the mods in. The thing is, Forge won't run through the vanilla launcher with what I want to set up and I have no clue whats screwing it up. In any case, I give up. I found another launcher I'm gonna try.
Are you Trolling us or something . You can't be looking for help ! You have not followed not 1 instruction . You do know you can run the Forge 1.8 Profile from the Minecraft Vanilla launcher , you don't have to use Magiclauncher . Try running the game from the Vanilla launcher , using the Forge 1.8 Profile . If it does not run , reinstall the game .Try YouTube for help with Magic Launcher .
I...I am honestly not trolling. I can't get the regular launcher to load mods properly and thought magic launcher would help sort out the problems. And I've said that I've done everything.
By the way , it should select the 1.8.jar by default . If it does not ,you can manually select the 1.8.jar , do not select the Forge directory . If you don't understand about version inheritance , ask
Your not understanding . your mixing 1.8 with 1.8.9 stuff . Don't do that !
Run Vanilla launcher first to create a Vanilla profile and download 1.8.9
Download the latest 1.8.9 Forge , double click to install .
Do not add any mods to that Magiclauncher list !!! It won't work !!!
Create a Magiclauncher Profile , call it "Forge version# - 1.8.9" click on Environment : select the Forge Version you just installed . Then save .done
All 1.8.9 mods go in .minecraft / mods / 1.8.9 / , Directory . Do not put any 1.8 mods in to that directory , it won't work !!!
same procedure for any version , don't mix up your versions
I'm not mixing up my versions. The point of the photos was to show that I couldn't find anything for forge. I entirely mean to use 1.8 and not 1.8.9 and all th mods are 1.8. Even after having clicked onto a 1.8 version, it was saying that there was no forge installed.
All Forge and Liteloader mods have to be put into .minecraft / mods / "verson #" , directory .
The only mods that you add to the list are "CORE MODS " , Those are not Core mods (Standalone non Forge or Liteloader
For Enviroment : choose a Vanilla Profile you created . In this case the New Forge 1.8 you installed . thats it , save
My problem is that its not seeing Forge itself. The mods are listed but aren't seeing Forge.
I had a few problems. 1, the resource pack isn't packed the right way (it needs to be a zip so the game can even read it), 2, It closes on me whenever I load it up with a snapshot. 1.6? Perfectly fine. Snapshot? Nope.
Okay so, as embarrassing as this is, I kinda got stuck early on. I was playing the one adventure map where you start off in the house and their's a book case labeled "Push 2 Win." Apparently, I can't figure out how to pass this one. o.o; So someone help me please? Just a nudge in the right direction at least?
((damned thing isnt working right but oh well))

My dad's been playing the update all morning and hasn't found very many bugs or anything. He did, however, find one. Whenever he enters The End, it lags to high heaven. Is there anyone else who has this? Or is it just us?
Sooo I just had a rather...interesting occurrence and I have no clue where else to post it. You see, I was playing this mod (on 1.4.7 of course) in creative and had my dragon (a pink/purple one) spazz out a bit, and then disappear. My avatar didn't register as it leaving, however, and I noticed I was still "seated". I have no clue what happened.
Ya know, I notice quite a few people are having trouble and so am I. Hell, I've tried several times to see if I did it right. What happens is that the game loads up perfectly fine but when I go to load the indicated world, the game crashes. I can start a new world perfectly fine but starting the given map won't work. Any help for me? Or should I just give up?

I just installed this and I've been having trouble with adding mods to it. This is what I see when I'm trying to add mods:
And this is what I see when I'm looking /in/ the folders for the right jar:
